And buying the club wouldn't be an option, sadly. I'd be mad enough to if I had the money.
I'm planning to move back this summer from Devon! Maybe NW9 we could form a consortium and buy it? I'll provide £50 if you can do the rest? 😃
My season ticket stopped in 2011, when I moved and my son wants us to go to every game in 24/25, but I think he's mad!!
So frustrating to watch the team. Feel we have a mixed bag of poor recruitment, not good enough players, poor tactical awareness and execution, too much back slapping, wavering strategies and focus.
Feel we are down and it hurts so much. Following since 1967 and I have seen plenty of ups and downs but I plan to stick with them. My birthplace, my team, my future.

Disagree. I think he was trying to pass it to Debra and made a mess of it.
I think he was trying to pass to Debra but took it so quickly, he didn't realise that their player was so in line.
He has been criticised for playing the ball to slow and today, he was to reckless.
A really poor error that cost us bid time.

Smudge was amateurish with giving them the goal. He didn't need to move it so quickly, this time.
Only Sang, Garrity and maybe Chislett showing any potential.
Sadly lacking pace in physicality and in thought.
Ssd to see but looking bleak.

Pett superb player .
Get rid of a proper captain replace one with one who's taking us down Titanic NS
I've stopped myself doing this for so long! Will you please stop your intense dislike/ loathe of Smudge. Sure he hasn't hit his previous high standards as a defender. But it is now getting boring.
Devine intervention do me a favour and turn the record over! You've made your point ( many times) move on!

Gave far too many soft free kicks away and a few players missed the manager bounce. Wilson, Lowe, Grant, Jones, Weir all had below average games with Willo the worst.
out fought and need to be more aware of player movement.Disappointed to say the least.

Feel for some reason we will concede a penalty but get a draw. Willo to score. Base for a starting point.

Loved the pod! Smudge is a great bloke and has been good for the Vale.
Enjoyed the insight that he gave and how well he spoke.
Great fan of him and his winning desire.

Stu, thanks for the entertainment via the podcast. You and the boys kept me “alive” in 2020/21 with you preview/ reviews.
Being in Devon, the podcast kept me in touch with my team. Enjoyed the special pods and the relaxed presentation. Bezza’s rants and Johnny’s analysis supported the pod but gave listeners the chance to argue their points.
Good luck with you new designation and as a retired supporter, family time is important, so enjoy!!
Best regards.

Great pod! As I could not see the game or listen to the commentary, you all relived the experiences for me. Gutted that I could not be to see it.
Totally correct to tackle and comment on the racism point first. No need for the comment that I have seen. Although Their keeper could of/ should of shown the delight of their second goal with ORIENT supporters. The opposite does bring out the reaction from opposing supporters, but still no Need for a racist rant.
Big call out to Smudge as he also played with stitches in his head?
Will watch the game on Tuesday but not sure that the atmosphere will be the same! 😀

Pod was a replica of my thoughts. I certainly picked up Wilson’s closing down, positional play and technical ability. Smudge had a fantastic game for me, Matt is a powerful/ awkward character. Garity full of running. Proctor’s ability to hold the ball up by taking a step back rather than meeting it with a heading attempt was superb. Man on his back could not win it.
One thing I noticed again was how many free kicks Devante gives away that gives the opposition the ball back.
Overall, still bouncing on a Monday after the win even though Devon weather has been gloomy today.
Hope Stu that the house move went well! That, brings back some memories!

Listened to the first half on the pod. Really honest points from Popey and the pod team conducted it well.
Btw, travelled up to the Tranmere game from South Devon and made my first appearance in Johnny’s Microbar!

Interesting points about team improvements. For me, the following points are for discussion.
Goalkeeping- Potential for improvement and greater competition.
Wingbacks- Improvements and more threat. Probably the most improved department.
Centre backs- Height, speed and aggression needed and maybe from what I’ve seen and know, an improvement.
Midfield- Pett looks a good acquisition. Walker gives us more height and legs. If Taylor can improve we will be quite well off for mixing it up.
Wingers- No change for me, unless we get someone in. Amos remains a passenger in many games. Will be interesting to see how we use the ability of Worrall.
Strikers- We need Rodney and Wilson to click and for Procter to score more per games than previous. So for now, potentially better if we can get a youngster that can pressurise the others.
Summary- Overall a better group of players and certainly taller and experience apart from goalkeeping. I feel DC has flexibility within the squad to tweak formations to suit if required to do so. Heart says play off’s, head says just short.

Good pod lads and enjoyed it. Maybe in the side, we need more physical presentation, particularly in midfield?
Leadership as discussed previously and possibly a little more controlled aggression. I feel we are a bit powder puff in certain areas at the moment.

Our interview with Super Jon McCarthy is out!
It was truly amazing to spend some time with Vale's record signing Jon McCarthy who gave up his evening to go through some great memories. His unusual route in to professional football and how he ended up at Vale were the starting points. Then his time at Vale which included an amazing cup run, and a promotion charge that almost ended up with Vale in the Premier League!
Available on Apple, Google and Spotify podcasts. And here! https://aleandthevale.podbean.com
Any feedback you have would be greatly appreciated! The sound quality isn't great for 20 mins but we do get it fixed!
Enjoyed the Super John pod. An intelligent guy and a modest one who actually, got the most out of his career.
Seems to enjoy his current role and was interesting to hear about his reluctance to come on!
I sat with John and his wife at a friends wedding and tried not to talk to much about the Vale.
To coin a phrase, Top Man!
Well done Ale and the Vale for another experience.
