To be honest I don't really care whether it was a penalty or not. Serves em right for all their diving. Also, people always say luck evens out over a season. Well, we've had no penalties given our way despite there being several stonewallers we should've had. They can keep their tears coming.

Just watched the pitchside video and noticed how emotional Mal Benning seemed when he got a hug off what I assume was his mum in the tunnel. Made me think of what a tremendous professional he’s been after finding himself out of the squad, working his way back in and putting in performances like that. Certainly something young people should learn off, rather than our old captain who went down the pub instead when he found himself in the same predicament. Hats off to him. -
Must say the ticket pricing is a disgrace really. My ticket cost 40 quid. Should never be paying that for a game of football, especially in the current economic climate. Then we’ve just decided to cut the faff and pay for the parking, which is another 40 quid.

I absolutely love when glad all over starts playing in their end as they’re all stood in silence 😂😂 -
Agree. If I went round to people on the street calling them pigs and doing machine guns actions at them, I’d expect to be thumped. Does that excuse their violence? No. But it’s certainly understandable how some people that are more violent prone end up assaulting him.

I honestly think I dislike Swindon more than Walsall now. -

Keep seeing their fans having a go at ours throwing stuff into the away end too. I was stood at the back of the railway and could see theirs giving as good as they got. -
Hamil Road end thoughts….

Agree with fuzzyvalefan, but in whatever league we’re in. Away fans generally buy more alcohol than home fans. If there’s a big away following in the Bycars, we get no money from alcohol sales. For a club our size it would be silly to turn down that extra revenue potential. -

Exactly my point. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. I’d never even consider assaulting someone, but we all know there’s idiots out there at every club that react to that sort of behaviour. -

It was definitely wrong and they should be banned for life and prosecuted. But if players like McKirdy are going to be winding up fans so much they can’t be surprised that much. If I went up to someone on the street and did the stuff McKirdy does I’d expect to get lamped. He’s got one of his teammates hurt tonight, maybe that will make him grow up a bit. -

Must also say, whilst it doesn’t excuse our fans attacking their players, their players and manager have been goading our fans between both fixtures. When we know there’s idiots in football it’s perhaps not the best idea to be doing that. -

Absolutely incredible night. Shame about some fans attacking their players, gives us a bad image, even if we’re not the only club to have done it. -

I’m also very concerned about Gibbons defensively at centre half. -

Well that’s that then. No Proctor. We are buggered. -
Seems we’ve lost a fair few fans since our last promotion. Sad really.
-
Which fan do you know that would be so bitter about his own team getting promotion? And when those pundits criticise Man U, they do so on actual legitimate grounds. Pope’s was because he was spitting his dummy out.
-
Embarrassing really. Where are the 12k from Northampton? Where are the 8k from Man City away? There’s no way you’re telling me our entire home attendance went to Man City. 8k home fans for a home play off tie is tinpot.
-
Certainly a more worthy captain than Pope. Best thing Askey did was take away the captaincy from him.

It’s pretty clear to me that the Swindon manager, players and fans all think they’re through. If our players can’t get themselves up for this there’s something wrong with them. -
I never really liked Pope when he was a player at the Vale - obviously liked what he did for the team, but always thought he was a knob. Everything he’s done since his retirement has furthered that view. Quite funny really thinking back to his interview when he was slagging off Flitcroft and Clarke, saying Joyce was better than Walker etc. Look where we are now. He looks a right mug. He’s just a bitter man who I do not have the time of day for. No chance I’m going his testimonial and giving him money for beer and fags, I’d sooner flush 20 quid down the toilet.

Also think it’s laughable saying Taylor changed the game. He did nothing after coming on. The subs that changed the game were proctor and Benning. -

I thought that showed him for the knob he is. He didn’t deserve to be on the pitch at vale. Every time he played he was god awful. -

I also think Swindon are a vile, vile team. Their players are diving cheating bastards, Williams and McKirdy both scum. But their fans are awful. I almost want to win just to knock them down a peg or two more than I do to get in the play off final.
