  1. It isn't as though Devine and Blaster got us in the top 6 we were losing games with them here, and when they went on international duty it gave us fixture congestion so I would argue would we have been better off not having them in the first place ? yes it was good to see Blaster on full throttle but in real terms where has it got us ? Just giving other clubs players game time ?
  2. I'm afraid that football is a results business, that's the nature of the beast, so by that reckoning DF has to be responsible, the DoF's position must be at risk if/when we get relegated, allowing the striker situation to get in to the state it is should be enough for a resignation.
  3. The problem is the games are coming thick and fast with no time to work on anything between games, plus the fact we are weak in defence (Understatement) and certainly weak and understaffed in attack. Nothing to do with DM, the damage has been done.
  4. Did he explain the Summer window and the previous January window ? Or were they just coincidences. Thought not.
  5. I cant see us escaping this mess we have got ourselves in, the warning signs were there back in September we scraped through the early season and that papered over the cracks, measures should have been taken in December to give a new manager a fighting chance. The current squad doesn't have the mettle required for a scrap, Moore needs to instil grit and desire into this squad and I'm afraid we are seriously lacking in that department, it's all very well being known as a lovely friendly club, trouble is the opposition take advantage. We were promised at the start of the season that we would be stronger fitter and physically stronger and fitter than the previous season after we got out of trouble by the skin of our teeth, I would argue we are a softer touch in fact far softer. Some players are taking advantage of the touchy feely club the Vale have become, it's all very nice, everything's nice, everything's nice and comfy, they should be busting a gut to save the Vale from relegation and repay the club for standing by them, I don't see it, sorry but it's blood and guts time and it's not there. Next soundbite.........Planning for next season.
  6. Looks more like the new pitches on Roe lane to me, could be wrong.
  7. You talk about investment as though it's easy to find a couple of million down the back of the settee. The Shannahans have invested large sums of money into the club not including the price they paid Smurthwaite for a decrepit ground and infrastructure. Kieran Maguire the football financial analyst recently reported that Leyton Orient are losing 75k a month and are £21m in debt , Crawley lost £4m in 22/23 total losses are £11.6m. There are numerous clubs in a similar situation, I trust Carol & Co are running the financials sensibly, because I for one don't want the club to go down well trodden paths of the past. If you want more investment in the club how about we double the price of a match day tickets and double the price of season tickets? that should do it.
  8. How did Piergianni stay on after his assault on Chislett ?
  9. Cautious Darren needs to have big rethink - The League Paper WWW.THELEAGUEPAPER.COM Interesting article in The League Paper
  10. The problem with a new Manager/Coach regardless of their previous success or experience the appointment relies on luck, history is littered with managers who you would have thought would guarantee success and for one reason or another they failed. .
  11. Just caught up on BBC Sounds, summed up very well Rob.
  12. Only Ripley came out of that shambles last night with any credit, Pussy cats led by Donkeys more like.
  13. I agree, she has been let down.....badly, she did the right thing getting professional advice what she inadvertently did was pick the wrong bloke. After Wembley we just needed 3/4 new upgrades and move on, to me it seems as though he couldn't wait to chuck the jigsaw up in the air and stamp his authority on the club.
  14. There are no goals in this team, hence Garitty a midfielder being top scorer, so whoever comes in is going to struggle, he could get us organised and difficult to beat but without goals it's an impossible task.
  15. I honestly thought tonight we would do the typical Vale thing turn up in front of the lowest crowd this season and turn Orient over. But we persisted with a system tonight that's not working, 3 wins in 21 proves it, nothing changed because we have to play this insipid style of football. Whoever takes this job on, it's obvious that they will have to play the " Flitcroft " way, I thought tonight we would shut up shop and be difficult to play against, but no same old same old. The owners are going to have to take the bull by the horns and sack Flitcroft off because his vision is slowly but surely strangling the club.
  16. Gannon took training in the morning , hooked after lunch. What I find very strange is the timing of Crosby's dismissal,
  17. Thats the bit I find unbelievable.
  18. Fleetwood Town troll Port Vale as Charlie Adam seals first win as manager - Stoke-on-Trent Live WWW.STOKESENTINEL.CO.UK As if it couldn't get worse.
  19. This has frustrated me as well, my boys reckon I'm a dinosaur because I prefer the "Up and at em style, they say I need to embrace the modern game, so when Crosby said he was looking for bigger stronger and more athletic I was looking forward to the new season, did we have to change tactics weeks before the season started because once again our recruitment team missed out on our targets and this was the reason behind the stuffing at Barnsley ?
  20. Is that the same recruitment team that works 3 windows in advance, the same recruitment team that looks at injury records, attitude, fitness, professionalism, and personality ?.................Not doing very well are they ?
  21. I wonder if we had a back up, we should've done considering the recruitment team work 2-3 windows in advance, considering Uche was on his way to Charlton surely we had more irons in the fire.
  22. I need more than a Plumb Porter ! I can't believe that's the 3rd transfer window we have had and FAILED to address the striker situation.
  23. Throwing Dipepa in could smash his confidence.
