Aguar, is he.? We’ll see how safe he is when fans refuse to buy season tickets. I’m not a person who would start a protest but I am on this matter and would encourage ppl not to renew. This is the only language that’ll be understood. They’ve taken us for mugs and think that by appointing DM will appease the fans and we’ll all believe it’s showing ambition. Ambition would have been signing the players we needed in January. Just got lucky with Devine and Arblaster

It isn't as though Devine and Blaster got us in the top 6 we were losing games with them here, and when they went on international duty it gave us fixture congestion so I would argue would we have been better off not having them in the first place ? yes it was good to see Blaster on full throttle but in real terms where has it got us ? Just giving other clubs players game time ?

  2. I'm afraid that football is a results business, that's the nature of the beast, so by that reckoning DF has to be responsible, the DoF's position must be at risk if/when we get relegated, allowing the striker situation to get in to the state it is should be enough for a resignation.

Not sure that changes the fact that it took him as a new manager 7 games to get a win.

We are in a really tough place, but people are giving up and effectively calling it “season over” after one game of DMs reign.

He has had 2 days with the squad.

As I say, get some of the injured players back and hope to hell.

The problem is the games are coming thick and fast with no time to work on anything between games, plus the fact we are weak in defence (Understatement) and certainly weak and understaffed in attack.

Nothing to do with DM, the damage has been done.

  4. I cant see us escaping this mess we have got ourselves in, the warning signs were there back in September we scraped through the early season and that papered over the cracks, measures should have been taken in December to give a new manager a fighting chance.

The current squad doesn't have the mettle required for a scrap, Moore needs to instil grit and desire into this squad and I'm afraid we are seriously lacking in that department, it's all very well being known as a lovely friendly club, trouble is the opposition take advantage.

We were promised at the start of the season that we would be stronger fitter and physically stronger and fitter than the previous season after we got out of trouble by the skin of our teeth, I would argue we are a softer touch in fact far softer.

Some players are taking advantage of the touchy feely club the Vale have become, it's all very nice, everything's nice, everything's nice and comfy, they should be busting a gut to save the Vale from relegation and repay the club for standing by them, I don't see it, sorry but it's blood and guts time and it's not there.

    Next soundbite.........Planning for next season.

But you are the one who has been continually bleating on about Recruitment...and I actually agree with you.

But all roads lead to the owners who are ultimately responsible for on the field investment...whether we like it or not. Whatever happens between now and the end of the season will have been determined by that.

You talk about investment as though it's easy to find a couple of million down the back of the settee.

The Shannahans have invested large sums of money into the club not including the price they paid Smurthwaite for a decrepit ground and infrastructure.

Kieran Maguire the football financial analyst recently reported that Leyton Orient are losing 75k a month and are £21m in debt , Crawley lost £4m in 22/23 total losses are £11.6m.

There are numerous clubs in a similar situation, I trust Carol & Co are running the financials sensibly, because I for one don't want the club to go down well trodden paths of the past.

If you want more investment in the club how about we double the price of a match day tickets and double the price of season tickets? that should do it.

There is a lot riding on this appointment

Ger it wrong again and the natives will make there feeling crystal.clear

Either vocally or just won't renew their season tickets

The problem with a new Manager/Coach regardless of their previous success or experience the appointment relies on luck, history is littered with managers who you would have thought would guarantee success and for one reason or another they failed.   .

This feels worse than at any time in our recent history. Carol has come in & saved the club from Smuthwaite. She has put in millions & been totally let down by Flitcroft & his cronies. Hopefully Carol remains as committed to the club as ever, but a total rebuild is required after our almost certain relegation.

I agree, she has been let down.....badly, she did the right thing getting professional advice what she inadvertently did was pick the wrong bloke.

After Wembley we just needed 3/4 new upgrades and move on, to me it seems as though he couldn't wait to chuck the jigsaw up in the air and stamp his authority on the club.

  8. I honestly thought tonight we would do the typical Vale thing  turn up in front of the lowest crowd this season and turn Orient over.

But we persisted with a system tonight that's not working, 3 wins in 21 proves it, nothing changed because we have to play this insipid style of football.

Whoever takes this job on, it's obvious that they will have to play the " Flitcroft " way, I thought tonight we would shut up shop and be difficult to play against, but no same old same old.

The owners are going to have to take the bull by the horns and sack Flitcroft off because his vision is slowly but surely strangling the club.

What I find bizarre from yesterday is Crosby actually took the training then left the club in the afternoon. Very strange circumstances. That tells me it wasn't in the plan to remove Crosby in the morning so what changed?

Carol should make Flitcroft to be on the touchline and manage this team in the interim period. He needs to prove this squad of players he put together is good enough for this league and Crosby was the only problem.

Gannon took training in the morning , hooked after lunch.

What I find very strange is the timing of Crosby's dismissal,

Obviously right decision but I’m getting more pissed off that we’ve gone Crosby’s the man for the past 20 <ovf censored> games with 3 wins and we wait until 5 days and 1 match after the transfer window before we finally act.

<ovf censored> incompetence. Flitcroft Out. Absolute fraud <ovf censored> off.

Thats the bit I find unbelievable.

Something that's really stuck with me last night was when someone on the forum mentioned Crosby's quote of being "bigger, stronger, more athletic" back in May.

    https://www.stokesentinel.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/recruitment-ambitions-plans--every-8435986

I thought we were going to recruit a load of Sodje/Griff type players and be physically imposing and look to run through other teams. I'd have loved this!

But looking back at our signings since then, I don't think we've done this.

Have we just gone against what Crosby actually wanted?

This has frustrated me as well, my boys reckon I'm a dinosaur because I prefer the "Up and at em style, they say I need to embrace the modern game, so when Crosby said he was looking for bigger stronger and more athletic I was looking forward to the new season, did we have to change tactics weeks before the season started because once again our recruitment team missed out on our targets and this was the reason behind the stuffing at Barnsley ?

The risk you take leaving it to the last minutes of a window to business. Plenty of clubs have signed strikers well before the window closing

I wonder if we had a back up, we should've  done considering the recruitment team work 2-3 windows in advance, considering Uche was on his way to Charlton surely we had more irons in the fire.

    Quite scary.

Wilson is always a game away from 5 weeks out. Loft is always 5 months away from a goal. Massey is always….. well….. Massey. And Dipepa should be nowhere near the squad. Nowhere near. The kid is 16 and nowhere near good enough for league 1 football right now and is being thrown under the bus.

Flitcroft. Crosby. Carol. Someone take responsibility.

Throwing Dipepa in could smash his confidence.
