    Sounds like Martin.

Fruit loop. Amazed he's never been nicked. I swear with the best but he's vile.

If it’s Martin when I used to have an ST in the RS. He’d sit with his elderly mother and father. His mother was for ever grabbing his arm trying to get him to sit down. Her efforts would last about fifteen seconds then he’d be off again with his extremely colourful language.

I asked a couple of months ago about a youth called ‘Normal’ who went in the 80’s. Does anyone know his identity.?

The Peterborough owner and chairman, Darragh MacAnthony, has had >>18 years<< to develop their club, and has done an excellent job.

Their scouting set-up is brilliant (and I hope the model for the setup that I'm sure Vale are trying to build) and has earned them a lot of money in the transfer market, as well as filling their team with the quality they showed tonight.

Darragh MacAnthony has also poured in £millions of his own money into the club.

Peterborough are paying out nearly £5 million a year in wages despite only averaging around 9,000 gates.

And still Peterborough have spent about half of the last 18 years in League 1, having repeatedly yoyoed back down from the Championship.

To state the obvious, it's extremely difficult to run a successful football club.

Carol has already achieved some excellent progress with the Vale, notably with the new and excellent management team she has put in place at significant cost.

And Carol has once again shown her financial commitment with an promising new signing as the club begin to build for next season.

Although it's hard to do, especially after a painful night like tonight, the Vale fans need to be patient and positive - the club is going in the right direction however the rest of this season pans out.

And anyway we still have every chance to start next season in League 1.

    Come on Vale.

Alan, Darren Ferguson is in his fourth term as their manager. I wouldn’t want any of our previous managers back a second time never mind four times.

Long time ago I worked with a Mac Town  players mum. Vale wanted to sign him but couldn’t match his Salary from his decent full time job and his part time wages at Mac. I can see salary levels having to decrease as the current levels are not sustainable and players opting to play part time and have a proper job

I remember reading the same some years ago regarding a Paul Showler. He was a police officer in South Yorks and played for Barnett. They only met up for match days due to players travelling. Middlesbrough were interested in him but they needed to buy out his police salary and pension it was quoted to be £1m. This was based on how much he’d earn during his time if he completed 30 years in the police and then his pension. Boro didn’t buy him.

About 10 years ago I was flying back to England and sat next to a lad on the plane who was playing for Buxton at the time and they were playing at Hednesfield the following day. Britain was frozen over and I told him the game would be cancelled. He told me he knew but if he didn’t fly back he’d be fined. He told me he was on £400 a week having started at Leeds United with Danny Rose.

He's been long time rumoured to have an interest there. I believe an ex Vale employee known to him may still work there. He's also linked with Torquay according to some of their fans plus any other clubs struggling no doubt.

The shark is circling. I read this week that Torquay National South are thinking of going part time as they’re reportedly losing £100k a month. I wonder if others will eventually follow. Also if others do, will in a decades time L1&L2 be forced into doing the same🤷‍♂️

  5. Listened to MacAnthony on Talk Sport Friday. I normally find that he talks a lot of sense, even though he is a massive Liverpool fan. He was claiming that he pays the Peterborough defence a £500 bonus if they don’t concede. TBH I thought the first line of defence was your forward line. Unless there are bonuses for other positions I’d be trying to get in the defence.

I personally would take now being within 2 points of Cambridge playing them last game, I know keep saying it but looking at Cheltenham's next 3 games and we are relying on them dropping points against an already relegated Carlisle, Burton who are woeful or a Bristol Rovers who have given up and not scored for over 500 minutes.  For me that was 2 points dropped today, I really thought they were there for the taking and Northampton and Wigan away, 1 point and no goals scored is a poor return, I honestly felt we would win one of those games.  It puts so much pressure on the home games, we have to win all 3 and we need clean sheets to do this as the goals are not there.

V79, TBH I didn’t think we’d get another point away from home before today. Therefore it’s not too bad for me. The game Burton v Cheltenham will be a choker for us and we need them to draw. If it’s not a draw then I think we’re down.

Not sure how you've worked that out mate. Two woeful sides.

Everything went for us today, Cambridge losing, Cheltenham losing by 2, Burton by 4, but we failed to capitalise.

Vale drag out the anxiety for another week, Exeter is now must win if we don't get anything out of the game in hand on Wednesday.

Haven't been Reading or Bolton yet but I basically have after going today. Soul-less lego ground on a retail park out of town.

Doha, the last few games nothing has gone our way. Just trying to shine a little happiness, on our dreadful season

  8. I’ve just checked the table but don’t know if today’s goals have been included in the GD.

    Burton GF 33 GA 56  -23 pts 40

    Vale GF 38 GA 63  -25 pts 40

If not included and Oxford score one more goal and we remain 0-0, we’re out of the bottom four, on goals scored.
