  1. It’s an open forum, rant away all you like.
  2. Maybe not the best thought to have in my mind at tea time….
  3. Another stick for some to beat Flickers, Crosby and Carol with no doubt.
  4. True for some fans. Sadly it’s easy to forget we have played some lovely football, not always with a positive outcome. We’ve definitely been inconsistent and probably only been great over 90 minutes in a couple of games. If you honestly think fans wouldn’t mind losing if the players put up a fight you only need to go back a few weeks to our barren run to see that’s not true. We played well in a lot of those games, couldn’t score, but effort was certainly there in the majority. Folk weren’t happy and that spell inevitably turned many off AC.
  5. Correct me if I’m wrong but I think it’s possibly because, even in these soft times, football is a contact sport…..🙄
  6. What makes you believe he’d be a success at Vale? Basically it’s a complete gamble, as is any managerial appointment. There are plenty of building blocks being put in place right now, the problem being that most fans aren’t arsed about building blocks, they want results and entertaining football.
  7. Fair enough, but have to say that I don’t remember that from the fans forums I went to.
  8. So you’re saying only a recognised “name” would be acceptable to you then? A lot of clubs are happy to appoint an up and coming manager/coach and it often works, equally many well known managers with track records go on to fail. Where have the club stated that they didn’t interview anyone else for the managers job?
  9. “We would win more with someone new in.” Folks were saying that when Lee Sinnot took over. You’ve got as much chance of getting a Jim Gannon as you have a Micky Adam’s. Anyway, how do you know for a fact that we didn’t run a proper recruitment process by the way? Been playing around with your crystal ball again?
  10. This is what you said, “Therefore I want us to lose if it means he’s gone so we can win more long term”. There’s no guarantee we will win more games long term, or short term for that matter, with a new man at the helm. Out of interest, what’s your definition of a “proper” manager? A name you recognise?
  11. He could go tomorrow and it won’t guarantee anything. Is that difficult to grasp?
  12. All well and good if you can guarantee someone will come in and do better, which you can’t, so you can’t say what’s best because you don’t know. You also don’t know what it would cost to replace the manager, balanced against what it will cost to keep him. With January upon us and one eye on the league table I would gamble on money better being spent on recruiting new players rather than replacing the manager. As with all managers Crosby will ultimately move on, only the timing is in question.
  13. What’s best for Port Vale isn’t losing games.
  14. Thanks for clearing that up. I’ve missed 2 games this season and I’ll happily talk to fellow Vale fans before, during, and after games but had no idea the fan base were fed up……
  15. Spin it any way you like, I want my team to win on Friday, you’re on record as saying you want Vale to lose. That’s not going to get under my skin, it just confirms what I already know about some of the characters on this forum, such as yourself.
  16. I want my team to win every game. I’ve got no other agenda, unlike blinkered clowns like yourself. Apart from anything else the simple fact is that if we win there’s less likelihood of being relegated, if we lose, as you wish, there’s more likelihood. 3 points for a win that could keep us up whoever the manager is come the end of the season.
  17. Anyone who actually wants their team to lose is either thick or not a true fan. Which are you?
  18. Aside from the obvious, what is The Wonder of You?
  19. Managers come managers go. The hard core will renew.
  20. Him? I always thought Shed Seven were a group but I’m not going to argue. You say you love Shed Seven so you’ll obviously know.
  21. Crosby obviously sees Lowe as more comfortable on the ball than Smith, which he is, but with Blaster and Ojo missing in midfield he’s lost the plot if he thinks we’re playing through the lines with Garrity and Walter’s in there. Either way it’s all too slow. The second half today showed the way to go with the players we currently have available. Bottom line is that the movement had to be better and the tempo much higher.
  22. You’re stuck with me on this forum superstar. 👍🏻
  23. I’m grown up enough not to let anyone on an internet forum get under my skin, least of all someone who doesn’t actually attend the games but sees fit to call fans who do “part time”….which is still making me laugh. 👍🏻
  24. Sit back in your armchair and let the real fans talk part timer.
