Come on Gav, I'm surprised by you that you have totally mis-read what people are saying about Uche.

He's terrified defences? Let's put that into perspective. Barnsley for a half game. Blackpool & Charlton. Total rubbish at Carlisle in between.

    So, what's that, 2 & a half games he's been ok for?

Only Charlton have come forward saying they wanted to sign him after we had played them but that is like us signing Tudor & Miller after they played well against us and then Slater & Perry, all 4 of them turned out well didn't it after they played well in one game against the Vale.

Its also the overboard reactions from everybody that we should be getting £300k + for a player that's 6 months left on a 8 month contract. That he's the best centre forward outside the Championship and now this morning, someone's even suggesting that if he stays with us hes going to score 10 goals.

Several managers , opposition fans have pointed out Uche as being the difference in tight games against us.

i don’t think he’s a talented footballer, but he makes the most of his attributes and gives 100% and has some passion.

he’s a foil to the ‘footballers’ around him

other league 1 managers want to sign him which is because they know a bit about football.

i see it , 1000’s of vale fans see it. 3/4 of the usuals on here don’t. If we lose Uche , we will lose the one player that can make a difference ( not every game ) but in some where it’s 11 v 11 standard players , he has something different.

and not everything can me measured via stats. There is not a stat that shows a player who’s having to be marked by 2 players due to their strength, defenders panicking as he runs at them. He’s now got his first goal as well.

lose him and I can see us struggling.

I did say a few games ago. Throw the youngsters on...in the right games and in the right context and managed. Having watched today with interest and using the opportunity to use them, each one gained great experience and each one performed beyond their years. Managed well, could be great for us. Supported by seasoned pros like Garrity, Uche, Smith etc...well done today. Not sold on AC but if he learns from today quickly, then keep going.

He was brave enough to play the young players, he doesn’t need to learn , fair play to him

I'd like to bring someone with experience in, that's what crosby lacks the most & it shows at times. each to their own i suppose 👍🏻

I think the next 3 games will be the tipping point. Needs 2 wins really . Not sure they will give him the new transfer window if the results don’t come.

feel for him he won’t have his best 2 players to pick  from

He's not interested in home games.

Also, I think most people will agree that they want Crozbore out

They don’t though do they Brian , maybe stick a poll on here ? I bet you 50 quid you lose any vote.

the noisiest maybe , the majority absolutely not. The same for most things in life. The nosiest are usually the most unhappy about most things. Cheer up BJ.

I hope people don't get too excited about Wilson possibly being credited with a goal. After he came on, he seemed to spend his entire time ducking out of challenges. One of which nearly led to a second goal for Wycombe.
That been said, he still remains a far better option than Loft. Who seems to be doing a really bad impression of a Sunday league player. He was the biggest guy on the pitch yet can't recall him winning one header in the box, can't cross a ball and definitely can't shoot.
I don't think I have witnessed many worse Vale displays.

Sent from my SM-A528B using onevalefan mobile app

Wilson had 2 shots on goal (on target) in 15 minutes , which was 2 more than we had managed in the rest of the game.

he linked the play and got us on the attack on a couple of occasions and looked dangerous.

I don’t want him in the team to tackle.

He’s not the long term answer, but he’s as good as it gets for now.

3 league games unbeaten. See how we do in 2 home games now. Ojo and Arblaster are huge gaps to fill , especially for our  style of play.

  6. I agree that Balmer should not be ahead of Lacovetti (if he’s fit) he had a slow start to the season and relies on a few games to get l up and running . Other than that the starting  11 seemed the best to go with.

Wigan scored 2 correct , they have a talented front 3/4 players. Remember they are a top 6 side without the points deduction

the complaint 2 weeks ago was that we aren’t scoring goals - Crosby tweaks it we get goals and now it’s the complaint that we conceded , you can’t have it both ways unfortunately. The style of play might leave us open

i would however like to see us capable of shutting  up shop when we go 2-0 up at home , not seen that yet this season

the Wilson decision has backfired and needs to be rectified after Christmas , I feel the club are managing him to fitness in order to release him along with Cass and Conlon (not even on the bench last night and could have been )

those 3 players out (all old not new signings ) will see 1 or 2 new players come in.

that again should hopefully see us push on again

the injury prone players are unfortunately the market we are in for , some are a gamble and we are trying to manage them to get the best out of them ( it is frustrating at times) we can’t afford championship players nor would they want to come to vale )

the signings I think have improved us include

Ripley - far beyond better than what we had before

Clarke at full back - unfortunate Nasty injury but improvement and versatility

Lacovetti - better than cass who’s leaving

arblaster - far and beyond better than any previous loans

    devine as above

grant - better but in the gamble injury prone bracket - fit again now

sang- young player/ improving each week - better than previous full backs who we released and versatile

chislett - hatrick Saturday - needs to be more consistent but can get us goals and create

    strikers - big fail

new signings aside we have seen an improved garrity with goals now , Gavin Massey improved under Crosby, and Ojo has become the clubs best player (‘that we own)

Well yes I have had a drink, many drinks but none since February. I am a recovering alcoholic and have been sober for 10 months so well done for making light of that. Even chaired my first AA meeting last week. I have also been to virtually every match this season and not a single drop of alcohol or any mind altering substance has been in my body for any of them. I suspect given your comment that you cannot say the same. So I would suggest my recollection of the season is pretty damn accurate. I invite you to re read my post and point out exactly what you disagree with. I don't post very often so this is a summary of my thoughts over the last few months so it's length is fairly reasonable. The irony is I suspect it's u who has embarrassed yourself when u re read the thread. But again, pick out the points you disagree with.

Glad you are on the mend , I don’t know you personally.

we had the best performance of the season on Saturday. We have won the last 2 league  games and are now starting to get some players fit again

other than the strikers the squad has improved from last year.

the style of play is better to watch and when ‘at it’ we look a better team than last year with a stronger squad

individual errors and a big deflection cost us being competitive last night and once the 3rd goes in the game is done

we competed well and was a good occasion, certainly not a reason to jump on the back of the manager.

when has repeatedly changing the manager ever worked for any club. ??

If we are in the bottom 4 with 10 to go (like last season) maybe the change is needed to get that bounce..

    the positives out way the negatives for me this season and part of that is ;

    good new signings

exciting loan players who are internationals (improved on last season )

style of play that is better to watch

youth players coming into the first team

    Jesse Deborah (great signing )

Good cup run first in clubs history at that round. Who we had to play is irrelevant, we usually lose in round 1 to whoever we play.

unfortunately people want instant fast improvements we aren’t that club , financially or otherwise

.small improvements with a better set up off the pitch will do me just fine. If I wanted more I could catch a train and go and watch Man City.

Some fans just won’t ever be happy regardless of what’s happening on and off the pitch at the club, always wanting more and knowing better

I love how you seem to pull them out the bag mate 👍🏻 😂 he's got them playing again a bit now so fair play to him but let's not forget 3 points from the possible 33 before last weekend. Fancy us Tuesday if we can play like that again but 1 great performance doesn't cut it for me he's got to get more consistency going before a lot turn back to him i'm afraid

    A lot ? Or a noisy minority

I know you are trying to be positive but it's a pointless statement you have made.

Its pointless saying if it was 5 minutes of injury because it wasnt.

Stevenage were a League Two team last season and we have not beaten them in 3 games now.

They have taken points / beaten most teams in league 1 this season and sit 3rd

you could say they haven’t managed to beat us over 90 minutes in 3 games.. to spin it if you like.

  10. Will pass on mate. I use a headset with a mic. Be fair we also record on Skype which there maybe better apps but none of us are technology people

That’s you told not like you aren’t doing it in your own time for free or anything

Cheers for the podcast , I can cope with a few ‘pops’ to be fair.
