At some point we need a crystal clear explanation why everything went pear shaped after promotion.  We have never really been at the races in league one. The other thing is fitness and injuries. Totally unsustainable in league two.

Apparently we would be playing better football and having fewer injuries once we replaced the pitch. That was the preferred option  rather than spending money on decent players. Phenomenal.

If you have two midfielders in double figures then it should be the icing on the cake of at the very least a half decent season.

Agreed Santa, problem is there was no cake. Recipe for success goals from midfield which we got and a striker scoring 15/20 goals along side another scoring 10/15. Many on here at the beginning of the season were minimising the impact of lack of strikers by saying goals spread around the team will more than compensate. That hasn't aged well.

Ultimately we can analyse other things but point 1 is the key reason there. For a club like us and our budget if we get our recruitment wrong it's just too much to overcome. Obviously that's all Flitcrofts domain or was but really it needed someone to challenge him on how it was we had such an imbalanced squad which has come back to bite us.

What is so worrying is that the recruitment was the  obvious problem highlighted on OVF from the end of last season. It was a flashing red warning light that the club chose to ignore. As regards to challenges to Flitcroft, Carol made it obvious he was bomb proof, and that's despite a fans revolt, which was ignored. Fairplay to the fans delegation who went and spoke to Carol and had to open her eyes to the fact that the Emperor had no clothes .

Ok I get it that Carol has little footballing experience but as a business person in any industry, you ignore your customers justifyable complaints at your peril.

Even if we get rid of the dead wood which is rotting we are still left with a load fungus laden dead wood under contract. So what scares me, is that I am thinking who on earth, as a player would want to come play with this crop of cow muck that we have.

We are really gonna struggle to stay in league next season. People not looking forward to Crawley away? They may be overtaking us.

As you say Melbourne it's going be difficult to recruit good players to come into such a poor team, although as they say money talks. Equally as important is how do we offload a team full of under contract losers ?. I'm sure teams will be looking to take the few shining lights we have, which are the only ones worth keeping. Garrity and Chizzys excellent goal tallies in an awful team will have put them on plenty of League 1 teams radar.

A few months ago it wasn't clear if it was budget or what. I'll always back people like loft or flitcroft until its absolutely clear they're at fault. Our position is just as bad hasn't changed mutch. Now why don't you back your comment about not needing a dof.

We haven't signed a goalscoring striker for over 12 months not because they weren't available but because of the cost. Instead if we had used the DOFs wages and signed one his goals would have kept us up. Having a DOF hasn't.

On 1st January we were 15th in the league with 29 points from 23 games.  Exeter were 4th bottom with 23 points.  We signed 5 players none of whom started today and none of whom are league one standard.  Exeter signed 4 players and 2 of them scored 3 of their goals today.  If anyone thinks our position is down to anything other than completely sh*** recruitment then they must be mad.

Each transfer window we have rebuilt with polystyrene instead of bricks.  And we seem to have spent a ludicrous amount of money in doing so.  Moore makes mistakes but he has inherited a squad that is lacking in balance, bottle and balls.  That's all.

Spot on Jacko, everything you have said has been there to see all season, and most of the previous one too. Obviously no one at the club reads the comments on OVF , what do we know.

    Thought the pitch looked great.

  7. So Carol that's what Championship ready really looks like. To use another catchphrase , Phenomenal, in it's correct use, best describes the Peterborough players. There is a massive job ahead for someone as the upgrade required on the pitch is massive.  I feel it needs saying incase anyone from the club is reading this, I mean the players and not the grass. Unfortunately the focus has been too much on improving the pitch, and look where that has got us . It was like shooting in , the gulf  between the 2 teams was a chasm.

To use an old Railway phrase "Mind the Gap".

  8. I didn't go the game but listened on the radio. Having previously given Lofty stick was really chuffed he scored and put a shift in too. Having now watched the goal I thought criticism of Loftys through on goal effort was a bit harsh. It was a reasonable effort just missing , not a row Z or hits the corner flag attempt.

Really hope he gets confidence from his goal and now has a run of goals to the end of the season. Facing his old club on Friday must be a massive incentive .

    1. Can we afford one.

    2. Does the manager need one to assist him.

    3. Could their wage (however much it is) be spent on one or two better players.?

Totally agree PA. Hopefully DM can use his contacts like DC did and bring in the right sort of  quality of player in the positions required.

Relating it to my own work experience,I was a Sales Manager. I was responsible for recruiting new sales people. That worked as I brought in the people I thought had the right work ethic and we're a good fit for the team. Also I had a vested interest in making sure they worked out and having been a salesperson knew exactly what I was looking for.

  10. Sounds like DM brought his own team with him so let them bring in the right sort of players. They will stand and fall by the incoming players so it's only right they choose them. Interesting to see what happens to the large number who are still under contract.

Donaldson is minted and has obviously got plenty of common sense why would he invest now , theres no point because carol refuses to see the bleeding obvious in her rose tinted glasses and continues to back the chief piss taker and biggest conman in football Fraudcroft at the club # fubar & UTV

The rumour I heard whilst in the pub was that he wanted to buy 51% of the club but Carol only wanted to sell Kevin's 49% share. As I say only a rumour, no proof.

  12. As I parked up I noticed how much easier it was to do so. Walked in to Lorne st foyer, noticeably quieter. Sat in my usual seat , plenty of empty ones around me. Had the banter with mates around me totally bored with what was going on football wise. Was one of the many who left 5 mins early and heard the loud shouts of Flitcroft out as I walked passed the old Goose pub. I hope you witnessed the same events as I did Carol. You are killing your customer base.

This is not the only reason. But... We seem to me to have been unprepared to commit to signing a proven lower league goal scorer and paying the wages needed. What we have ended up doing instead is signing / resigning three strikers who rarely score. Surely they cost a lot in wages too! Hence we pose little threat up front, never get ahead in games and our defensive weaknesses shine through.

Paying the wages of 3 strikers who don't score against 1 higher paid striker who actually does.

    1st goal absolute joke defending.

2nd goal Jones shìt himself and pulled out of the header which was a simple clearance.

Bunch of shìthouses. Hope they're in training today (not that it will make them any better)

No chance of them in training today as the wives won't like it.
