There will be four poor teams that will be relegated from League One this season, because as we've demonstrated you don't need to be that good to find yourself some way clear of the drop. I'd hazard a guess that Constantine is steering Walters away from the club, though that is just a guess. Maybe Rhys is desperate for a move, maybe he'd be better off staying or maybe his career would benefit from leaving. 13 games without a win probably isn't going to persuade him to sign a contract...

I've literally never heard of a caretaker manager being appointed for a fortnight of pre-season training before. Here at Vale we have had the odd caretaker manager who hasn't actually taken charge of a match, but that's only ever been when they've stood in for some days mid-season and a new manager has been appointed quickly.
