    So do.yiu prefer passing back ?  🤔😆

No I prefer to be on the front foot or play it out wide to the wingers/wingbacks but I understand if there's no outlet up front rather than just pump it up then it's fine to keep possession by passing it sideways or backwards.

  2. I did touch the matchball in the sixties when John Rowland hit one of his rockets just over the bar, it hit me on the thigh with a loud slap and was very close to where it would have been a lot more painful ! Of course everybody around me found it amusing.

Yep, it’s a means to an end for me too.

Wasn’t expecting a literary masterpiece or to see Vale stories (and his slant on them) I’d not heard from elsewhere in the last 40 years but it’s still an easy read and puts money in the coffers for the main event.

Will never, ever forget the Johnny Rudge’s black and white army chant at Anfield in the League Cup and seeing Liverpool fans  joining in with the rhythmic clapping too.  Still getting goosebumps and hairs standing up on the back of my neck writing about this now.

Yep, that night and the Derby away game 3-2 are for me the most memorable games. Mind you probably because I was young and my Dad took me on the Kop, the 0-0 in 1964 still lives long in my memory bank.

  4. I think if we win tomorrow all us happy clappers should give it a chorus of "if you're happy and you know it clap your hands" nice and loud. Then I'll go home and have my fries piled up as high as Hanley pit bank on Hanley forest park.

That's fine. I'll remove myself from the thread so you can all be happy and clappy together in your cutesy little village of Clappington, Happyville.

Don't leave the thread Valiant it's more fun when you are on and it's nice to get someone else's viewpoint and you never know but you might become happy clappy one day. 👍👍

I'll feel a bit like RZ at first as I won't be able to identify most of the players but I'm sure I'll get there by Christmas

Count me in and I've even changed my seat from the back of the Railway stand to the front row so so I can recognise who's who. Mind you last year I had specsavers glasses on and had to keep asking who had scored but this year I've been to Boots and will be much closer to the pitch so a little less conversation. Oooh sounded like Elvis then ! 🤣🤣
