  1. Simply not true - there are still those on here who claim we are sleepwalking towards relegation!
  2. I don't remember having strong feelings either way - it is possible...believe it or not...to be neutral in opinion until events prove otherwise? My opinion on AC's suitability is now 3 points and another good performance better than it was!
  3. You didn't have that long to wait, then?
  4. Again...in a lower League, and a much easier League than ours...according to the vocal minority predicting relegation last season! And, to keep up your excellent, near -100% record of being wrong, whichever of those 3 options you pinned your opinion to, you would be completely wrong!
  5. You are equally clueless, Brian...or, you would know that bringing in a new manager - especially from a lower League - carries no guarantees of success?
  6. "Am I for real"...for having a different opinion than you? Yes! And, clearly, not everybody can see AC is out of his depth...just those vocal minority...some of whom will have changed their opinion after yesterday's excellent result against a side well above us in the table?
  7. There is no guarantee that changing the manager, at any time, let alone mid-season, would be the answer - it's always a gamble! However, stats...like anything else...can be used in different ways, as P5 W3 D1 L1 and10 points out of the last 15 available, shows!
  8. But all in a League lower than us...and, as we were often told during our survival, last year, a lot easier League than League 1.
  9. "You do realise we lost don't you?..." "It's a lot easier to get on the front foot and take it to a team that's 3 nil up and don't need to do anything other than sot there and let the opposition play in front of them." "We had chances second half, granted, but the damage was done and it would have taken a colossal effort to get anything from the game." Well - "maybe taking the piss" was a bit strong...unnecessarily scathing, perhaps? As for your pedigree as a Vale fan - I would have no way of knowing that, previously, so couldn't be expected to respect that...nor you my 60 years as a Vale fan? It would not have taken a monumental effort - just one of the chances we made to have sneaked in rather than flew over the crossbar. I have never said he was a decent manager...I couldn't have known that...but that he deserved the chance to show whether he was?
  10. Nahh...I'd stick with my philosophy of continuity - which many clubs would prefer - than the disruptive one of bringing in new management staff, with no guarantee of success.
  11. Well - clearly nobody is paying for your being consistently wrong on every subject - and yet here you are...plank!
  12. Yes - you could really hear that in the 2nd half!
  13. I'm neither blind, deluded or both. As for the nasty snipe at DF, which only ever gets mentioned when we've not done so well...I'd trust him more than I would you!
  14. Why would he be so great? Oldham / Barrow? Not exactly setting the world on fire? And, if he wouldn't come to the Vale, there isn't much touting him as a potential?
  15. Me "out in force"??? hahahahahaha! Somebody's got to try to make you see sense? Yes - we were awful in the first half...largely due to individual errors - again! But the switches at half time and later almost pulled the game back. We were only a single ref decision, or GK save from a well-earned draw...or were you one of those that disappeared with half a game to go, so didn't see it? I don't understand a "fan" giving so little credit to his team for almost bringing the game back against a good team, with superb away form and in a high position in the League? But, please - keep taking the piss out of "your" team...it says more about you than it does about me!
  16. You do know calling a style of play "Duffball" suggests it's not very inspiring, also? You know? "Duff">>> - as in most of your comments!
  17. Are you seriously suggesting they are? Seriously??? Mostly non-League / lower League managers! And not lengthy appointments, either?
  18. But nobody knew AC wasn't the best manager until he'd been given a chance? Should he have been given the chance - absolutely he should! When a very good coach with an impressive CV, and experience as caretaker manager says he feels ready to take the step up into management, what do you do? Give him the opportunity to progress, as you would any player who wanted a move? Or run the risk of losing a very good coach if you say you don't think he's ready?
  19. Not sure...Finland is a long way from Burslem! I expect the usual suspects will be on here, later...but it's hard to gauge things when the majority are silent - as with most opinion polls!
  20. On a toxic thread like this and there's literally only a handful want him to go!
  21. I never mentioned getting there this season, or even next. I would say Ojo is good enough too, and we would probably get loanees of at least the same quality as Devine and the Blaster. But, the assumption appeared to be that carol would never make a profit on the vale as we have reached our level - which i don't believe to be true?
