  1. I genuinely believe Smudger has simply got slower over time. He's lost his usual "bullying and fighting" style of play we all loved in the past. Coupled with the "extra" burden recently of being the centre of all passing/ creativity from the back then we have to accept he is not the player of old.
  2. Who is going to apply? Knowing that DF is in total charge will not be acceptable to any reputable manager. I fear already for any applicants.
  3. Glad it's not only me who gets absolutely peed off with Smith receiving the ball at the back and then he dithers about not knowing what to do. I love Smudger but he is probably one of the worst distributors of a pass in the entire Football league, yet Crosby perseveres with him being the main start of any movement from the back!!
  4. Which presumably means NO decisions will be made then whilst she recuperates.?
  5. It is clear in most fans minds that Vale need to rebuild- a team/ confidence in the Club/ a system that doesn't rely on only 1 tactic/ vision for the future etc, etc. Quite simply are AC and DF the ones we can rely on to secure that rebuild? Categorically NO.
  6. What? And bore the poor plants and flowers to death by digging them up, replanting them into different, incorrect positions and then starve them of any food/ water so they are there to just fill holes? That all sounds familiar doesn't it?
  7. Had time to reflect now. From the onset yesterday as I sat in the stand observing the apathy, bewilderment at the Club's inability to see what was required before the end of the transfer window, the apparent disillusion, the atmosphere as flat as a disc, I sensed then the majority of us attending were simply there in desperate hope rather than to enjoy a game against the team languishing at the bottom of the table. After 10 minutes it was clear this was going to be another abject, tactic lacking, boring debacle. As the game progressed so did the bile and warranted derision grow towards players, AC and DC. Frankly everything about the day was embarrassing to be a Valiant due to the lack of vision shown by Port Vale. I usually attempt to drum up encouragement and optimism even during some of our darker days but I actually joined in the choruses of disapproval. After 45 years of supporting my favourites I am at a very low level of patience or sympathy as to our plight. Many, many more yesterday were discussing their options as to what to do on match days next season. Vale are now in serious decline. Fans all know it, its being coming now for ages. Why can't the powers that be see it? I sincerely hate posting pessimistic vibes but if I'm feeling it, I'm sure hundreds and hundreds more are of a similar vein. If Vale don't recognise this and actually do something, I fear for my beloved Club.
  8. There were many in the seats too venting their spleen at Crosby.
  9. I agree Jean, but AC has continually bored the pants off the fan base, the life blood of the Club. He is native, lacking in any kind of tactics and clearly does not possess the ability to get the best out of whatever is there. Time for AC to go now so we at least retain enough time for our season to change. We simply cannot go down, the financial and "good vibes" drain could take many, many years to be retrieved. We all know that Division 2 will be very, very difficult to conquer.
  10. How the he'll can you feel sorry for AC? I've supported Vale for over 45 years and I'm sick to the back teeth with his lack of any kind of tactics or his unbelievable team selections. Today I was again there to witness how absolutely boring and slow and rubbish we really are. Against the bottom team we had more possession, yes but a .massive amount of that was Smith and the defence continually slowi g it down, tippy tapping it sideways and backwards. We are a Club in free fall. Fans are sick of it. They showed their voices today calling out AC and DF. The vast majority there today were sick and embarassed by that totally inept, lacklustre performance. Time for AC and DF to go before we sink any lower and loose the fantastic supporters base.
  11. Or trampoline. Up 1 minute, down the next. Never a dull moment with DI.
  12. I'm going and will back the players to the hilt. What else can we fans do? No point in berating management for their shortcomings, at least not yet! Vale simply MUST retain their place in Division 1 otherwise I foresee carnage and absolute uproar. Valiants more than ever have to show their support for the Club. Individuals may come and go but we need to unite and make it clear, as the paying public and the life blood of the Club, that we are Vale.
  13. Like most other Valiants, I just can't get my head around the lack of a forward acquisition. Even before Uche was injured it was blatantly obvious we needed up front numbers. To miss out then was bad enough but to not sign anyone after the injury is in my mind, incompetent. Time will tell, cross fingers for the moment.
  14. Fay Uld Medical and Lim Palong are 2 more currently at Club.
  15. Going more in hope than anything else. You'd have thought by now the powers that be have realised we are sinking fast. Trap door is beckoning. Let's give the Hardy fans hope and actually go for it as we may as well go down fighting rather than with a wimper.
  16. Welcome Dan to the mighty Vale. All Valiants will back you to the hilt if you give your all to us. The Vale family can't wait to allow you to fulfil your undoubted promise. Thanks for choosing us to better your career.
  17. Our CLUB is always interesting. We always have IRONS in the fire. To keep the BALL rolling Carol has to PUTTER (put her!) BAG load of WEDGE in there to make others GREEN with envy with the FAIRWAY we play the game. Ah well with no transfer news I was bored!
  18. Absolutely mind boggling mate! With all this info all I can say is massive commiserations with your plight. You have eloquently expressed fully the total mess Reading F C are in. However I keep coming back to the Leagues decision to have agreed to the Owners fit and proper criteria. It was apparently common knowledge of his previous dodgey ( to say the least) dealings. True fans need to stand together to rid our beautiful game of such con men. All the best Reading, you'll need it!
  19. Do we get a fee, or is a free transfer?
  20. Good luck Tom. Thanks for time and efforts at Vale. A little surprised (with no disrespect) tha you've gone to Oldham.
