  1. I had to decide between going the Vale or Northern Soul night at the Vickie Hall. For the first time since my wedding day I have missed a Vale game by choice. My heart has gone and I hear nothing out of the owners to heal it. I sincerely hope we scrape enough to stay up but with the people in charge the future looks bleak.

He hasn't really got a reputation either way in terms of recruitment. I can't recall fans of his previous clubs mentioning what they thought of his recruitment.

Unfortunately at Sheffield he could buy anyone he wanted, don’t think we are in the same bracket. We need a Rudgie to unearth diamonds for free or russle up some finance.

Yeah mate, I’d of gone with Wilson today we should have more of the ball at home & suits his game more than Loft today. He needs a performance I feel, he’s been out of sorts recently

He needs the ball played into feet, less of the hoofball . He is not a Loft or Uche, totally different ball game.

Gregory isn't registered for Sheff Wed's squad currently.

35yo and out of contract end of the season.

Wonder if Sheff could release him and we could sign on a free?

    Knows Moore too!

Players can only be signed if out of contract before the end of the transfer window.

Maybe that reliance wasn’t so much down to AC as club policy is well known, to go out and get top young players in on loan as well as promoting our own youth wherever possible.  Also, there have been times where we’ve had no choice but to rely on youth players due to injuries.  Not suggesting AC was totally faultless by the way.  He was new to management but so was even the most successful manager at some point, they all have to start somewhere.  I can’t get my head round the idea the a good coach can’t become a good manager, which was one of the things thrown at Crosby from day one.  It may not have worked out for him but plenty of others have made the transition from coach or assistant manager.

Keiran McKenna at Ipswich a prime example

He also says that he never interferes with tactics or formations… and you can ask DC and AC and if they say otherwise it’s not true.

So do we presume it’s the manager who is choosing tactics and formations and DF and his team look to bring in players to suit that tactic / formation.

There is a cup final tonight. Stoke City v QPR. Could further the possibility of Stoke coming down to L1. Maybe Crewe can come up to L1 and PV remain in L1. Then 2024/25 would be very interesting. But could Stoke fans be educated in the proper use of toilets.

    We need the Bycars refurbing

Happy VALEntines day you beautiful bunch! I fell in love with this club at my very first game as a 10 year old boy. FA cup replay at Vale park against Arsenal in 1998. Yes I missed the Everton & Spurs heroics unfortunately 😅 Vale was my first love & will always be my last 💙

    You old romantic ❤️‍🔥

I think we're made a massive hole for ourselves with the January business and adding a free agent just isn't a quick fix - unless we're really lucky and there's another player like Dwight Gayle, who is match fit, wants to join us, is on reasonable wages and would improve us. I doubt there is, frankly, and I think we may be stuck with what we have - which is a real worry until the likes of Garrity and Ikpeazu come back.

Do we actually know what Ben’s injury is, I hear rumours it’s his Achilles, in which case I would not expect to see him again this season.

Or the supporters that have had enough, have stayed away again for the 2nd home game running.

The fans are voting with their feet

If you are a true fan you will be there to support the players no matter what. Funny how the crowd seemed to be fully behind the players yesterday, says something about those that stayed away.

  11. Take some positives from today.

Players were up for it and stuck with it right up to the 98th minute. Penalty or not, we deserved something out of the game.

Chislett easily MOM, hope his substitution was nothing suspicious.

Lopata looked solid at the back and good on the ball. Hope his injury is not too serious.

    Ojo getting back to fitness.

Wilson linked well with his touches, far more involved in the game.

Good cameos from Jones and Mighten. Think Mighten could cause problems for some defenders with his direct style of play.

Jones and Clark coming back to fitness are like two new signings.

They missed 2 sitters 2nd half

We missed 2 sitters Chislett header and Lowe 2nd half

The own goal the defender had no choice 2 vale players all over him especially the one behind waiting for a tap in

Agree mate, but with some people the glass is always half empty not half full.

Just said to my wife in the car that Vale & Stoke have the exact same problems.

Since when have Stoke had no money for a striker, just don’t spend it very well.
