  1. I don't think he had any choice but to leave. He oversaw a relegation battle last season and we are currently adrift one place off the bottom this season. His recruitment team, his manager, his plan, his failure. Its called taking responsibility just a shame it took so long.
  2. I have to admit that I'm really struggling to even listen to this on the radio. I have tried to start every game feeling positive, telling myself that this might be the game we turn it round and I dont want to miss it etc etc but the last 4/5 games I just feel like the players have completely given up so it seems pointless me bothering. Ive watched virtually every game this season but honestly I think Im done with it until next season I'm not even seeing the tunnel never mind the light at the end of it.
  3. I wouldn't call them the worst but then again I wouldn't say they were any better than the worst. I certainly wouldn't back them to beat the worst. In fact I wouldn't confidently back them to beat our women's team the women would probably bully them. I do think this is the weakest bunch of players I have ever seen and my first season was 1972. Sang couldn't get the ball off my 82 year old mother. There is no fight in any of them just short periods where one or two have a go for five minutes but then they give up. There is some level of technical ability in some of these players but they allow teams to dominate them so they don't get the chance to play. You have to win the ball before you can do anything with it.
  4. He is right footed and playing on the left so I'm not surprised he sliced a few under pressure so did smith and plant when they played on the wrong side. I think we have bigger issues than Debrah over on that side but his main job is to get rid and he did that for the most part its not his fault it comes straight back because we had zero presence up top and no bite in midfield especially when Lowe and loft came on. I think he is decent and will get better as he gains more experience. If we hadn't allowed 57 million balls to be hit into our box we would have won that game but you can't sit back and allow the opposition to hit balls into our box unopposed for an hour of any game and expect your central defenders to deal with everything that's simply not going to happen I don't care if we sign centre backs from Real Madrid, Barcelona and Man city they aren't going to stand up to that amount of pressure.
  5. I think that's extremely harsh on Debrah. Personally I think he was excellent last night his "mistake" was punished but every player out there last night on both sides made mistakes we can't hold him to a standard that isn't reached by anyone else mistakes are part of the game. The issue is we sat back and allowed them to pepper our box with cross after cross after cross no defence at any level is going to deal with that without conceding. That's a team failure not a Debrah failure. I'm resigned now I do not believe we can survive with the players we have. We started well last night but we only kept it up for 25 minutes or so that's simply not good enough. A glimmer of hope was that we would back DM with a few out of contract signings but the recruitment team are working hard at failing as usual so I think its over.
  6. Nobody puts a tackle in we just stand off them and let them play they were strolling around passing it at will and sang didn't stop a single cross into our box patterson must have put 20 balls in. Loft had his chance and didn't even make the keeper save it. I really don't see us getting out of this after all the work to get into this division poor recruitment will send us back down again.
  7. That was a better first half our forward line looks quicker than usual dipepa set up the first and has been a willing runner and garrity has added some much needed aggression in the middle please don't cock it up now.
  8. We have put loads of balls into the box while loft has been on the pitch and he has been nowhere near scoring from any of them.
  9. I expected this, last two games he has looked like he didn't want to be out there. I'm not bothered I'd rather have a young lad trying his best than play someone who isn't committed.
  10. To be fair he can't pick players we don't have. He has tried loft but he doesn't even look like scoring and our defence is shocking so to stand any chance we have to score.
  11. Next interview he does I am sure he will let us know how many we nearly got 😆
  12. He is always the same I just don't get what people see in calamity jones.
  13. AC must have hidden him in the same place he used to hide Thomas and DM hasn't found him yet 😁
  14. I would hope we give a new formation a bit longer than one game before we give up on it.
  15. I hadn't heard that, if true I can't imagine why.
  16. 4-2-3-1 Happy with that nice to see Garrity back on the bench, did I dream it or did AC say that Plant was back training on the grass in one of his last interviews? If so he should be close. I don't know how well they will take to it with not having long to implement a formation change but I hope he persists with it because going forwards I think it will get us more points than sticking with a wing back system that hasn't worked all season.
  17. Regarding Loft I think he had his best game in a Vale shirt on Saturday but despite all that effort he didn't really offer a goal threat and for whatever reason Willo isn't threatening the goal either we need someone up there who is going to improve on that and given his size and his pace I would certainly like to see Mighten given a chance to play up there with chizzie whether that's instead of loft or willo is up for debate but I see no downside to giving the lad a chance
  18. Please restrain the urge to post a video clip 😁
  19. My main worry about any formation that requires wilson to play as a lone striker is that he would probably be back on the injury list by half time because he would get battered by their centre backs.
  20. Thats my point though you have just given me an opinion of what you thought the case was. Maybe I am playing devils advocate here but Im asking if we actually know that because the way Im reading Carols letter is that she has given him certain targets and at this moment in time he is achieving those targets and if that is the case then she has no basis upon which to sack him. That's the opinion of his boss who knows him better than we do and knows more about what decisions he has or hasn't made than we do. whereas everything I am hearing from his detractors, including myself I freely admit, has been from people who don't know him, don't work with him, don't know what his instructions/limitations/pressures are and don't know if his management style is dictatorial, laissez faire, democratic or a mixture. Being responsible for the playing side doesn't in itself mean he makes all the decisions himself and then issues dictats to his minions it can mean a lot of things depending on the culture and personalities involved. If I were director of football and had to work closely with various heads of departments, for example the team manager I would not necessarily make all their decisions for them I would invite input then make the final decision on whether to go with their suggestions or not. Maybe that's what he does in which case he isn't failing in his job he is at worst failing in a part of his job and that is only if we are relegated if he brings in a decent manager and we survive then on paper at least he has done his job. Unless someone can point me in the direction of someone who actually know otherwise I will have to accept what Carol is telling me because she is in a better position to judge than I am. I am as frustrated with our obvious failings this season as anyone else and I have been vocal about it in my usual passionate way 😁 but! I respect Carol so I will give DF the benefit of the doubt. For now at least. And I will get behind the team, all of them.....maybe apart from loft (joking honestly 😁)
  21. On the other hand if we had defended better in some of the games we did score in we would have picked up more points from them. Its a chicken and egg scenario. In my opinion we have been poor at both ends and AC said that himself many times.
  22. I hear this a lot and I have been guilty of running with it myself as if it were fact but on reflection do we actually know that df decided our style of play, formation, signings etc if so how do we know that? Are we simply surmising it because Carlol described his role as everything to do with the football side or was there a whistle blower I'm not aware of. For instance how do we know that he didn't simply meet with the manager and they agreed a strategy between them. I'm only asking because every time I saw AC interviewed he was passionate in his defence of the style of play and told us we needed to be patient with it because they were trying to change the way we play and it was non negotiable. That doesn't sound to me like something he had imposed on him it sounds more like something he was happy to take ownership of.
  23. I agree ripley and chislett are the only decent signings we made in the summer and if we get relegated I am fairly certain we will lose both of them. The biggest mistake AC made for me was his retained list he got that badly wrong and then it got worse when benning, harrison and forrester left when it was too late for us to replace them.
  24. Im not sure what sangs official position but he is a liability defensively so maybe sticking him higher up the pitch out wide with a full back behind him would be the best way to utilise his undoubted crossing ability. That said I don't want us to play 4-4-2 I would prefer 4-3-3 or 4-3-2-1.
