  1. Problem for me is I have to rely on iFollow audio for away games as, living in South Staffs, I can't get RS at home. Although, bizarrely, I can get it loud and clear in the car - I just don't want to be freezing my conkers off sat in the car in midwinter.

  2. You can't polish a <ovf censored>. And all of you who think Darren Moore could should give your heads a wobble.

I'll judge him with half a season with his own players - assuming Carol allows him to bring them in.

I haven't read all the thread yet so this may of been mentioned but to those on here who were saying that Dipepa should be sent on loan to Leek Town or Newcastle Town............ well i think he answered that himself yesterday...... that is all

I think we should enjoy him while we can. He'll be off to a bigger club come the summer.

  4. Vale have shown enough willingness to play good possession based football, going forward, in recent games to be hopeful. But then they concede cheaply - particularly from set pieces - and spend the rest of the games fire fighting. I'm sure DM knows this and will be trying to counter it in training. I just don't think they have enough in this squad to turn it round.

  5. He's obviously up to it at U17 level, given his two goals off the bench for England. But coping with hairy arsed L1 defenders is quite another thing. I wouldn't want him to be whacked too hard before he reaches his physical capability to stand up to that sort of treatment.

If we do decide to go with a DoF, do we already have someone in mind, so there won't be a selection process or should we just give the job to Patrick.?

Given Vale's record of making appointments without competition it wouldn't surprise me. I worked most of my life in the public sector and if the bodies I worked for had adopted recruitment policies like Vale's they would have found themselves in trouble with the Government. Getting back to Patrick, he couldn't hack it as CEO so does he even have the experience required for a DoF? Horses for courses; we need someone with extensive knowledge of the role in a club at Vale's level.

Nowhere near. 79 - 81 were the worst years to support the club.

Anyone who thinks otherwise didn't go to Vale v Halifax, who were bottom of the 4th division at the time, lost 0-1.

Went for my annual post match drink in Market Drayton with my Salopian mate, somebody who has supported Shrewsbury for as long as I have the Vale and he said it was the worst Vale side he had seen since the late 70s.

    Flitcroft Out.

Funnily enough, I was only thinking the other day that it's like it was when Bobby Smith was in charge.

At the moment watching Vale is like a re-enactment of the Book of Job - for the less Biblically minded Vale fan, this is a character who is very rich and in a matter of hours loses everything. That's what it feels like supporting Vale at the moment. But the moral of the story is never to lose faith, even when things go wrong. And even if Vale lose every game left this season I'll still be renewing my season ticket, because I refuse to lose faith. Whether Vale stay up or go down, whether Flitcroft stays or goes, no matter what happens, I'll still be there next season.

In the Bible story Job gets what he has lost back, and a bit more besides. I cling to the belief that better times lie ahead, even if it doesn't appear so now. But Bobby Smith went and John McGrath and John Rudge arrived.

I may not post again this season but it will be in the hope that things will turn round, whether now or later, whether in L1 or L2.

  9. Origin of the 'Lardy' title was from a Charlton fanzine - they'd played Stoke and they commented on just how fat the majority of the Stoke support were. 'Must feed them on lard' was the comment and legendary Vale fanzine 'The Memoirs of Seth Bottomley' picked up on it.

You could also try 'who ate all the lard'.

How you applaud that week in week out, is beyond belief.

Some of those players are picking up 8 thousand pound a month.

So sadly, that is the definition of a “happy clapper”.

Nobody claps angrily. And if you clap even though you’re not happy then you’re robotic and accept the utter crap you’re given week in week out.

By clapping these robbing useless clowns on the pitch, and the club in general, you will never get the change we so desperately need.

    These performances are not acceptable.

And will my stopping clapping bring that about? The club will do what the club does. When change comes, if I think it's for the better then I'll applaud that as well. Until then, there is <ovf censored> all either you or I can do.
