The most damning aspect of this season and Carol’s failure to fund the squad is that the best players were loans. That should never, ever happen.

She never realistically had that ambition. Nobody would cut a budget at the start of the season, budget for no strikers and expect Championship football. She’s just a “woke” Smurfwaite.

How dare you criticise our wonderful chairwoman! How many other league clubs have an international pop star as a President or delivered 100,000 dinners to the poor and needy nearly 4 years ago? Yeah the football is crap, but a football club isn’t about football. It is about a community. We are a community club. Not a football club.

To be fair, there was a period when we were outside the relegation zone with 3 or 4 games in hand on those below…then Moore got the job.

Absolutely. This team would make even Norman Smurfwaite feel ashamed. Facts are, he managed to run the club in league one with no debt for a longer period, with higher finishes than the woman who has supposedly saved the club. If this is what saving the club looks like, I can’t imagine the alternative could be much worse!

Moore needs to go. He is hopeless. He makes me look back almost fondly of the Crosby era watching this. How did he manage to make his efforts look worse?

Personally think if we want to encourage season ticket sales, walk ups need to cost more. I hate to say it but a nice round £30 would probably do it. With membership maybe reducing that to £26/27 to encourage membership uptake and loyalty. Adding to that, maybe something like buy 5 games and get 1 free? High enough to make people think they will get value from a season ticket. While motivates people to buy memberships. Those walk ups won’t mind £30 because who misses a few coins from the already high £26/27 odd? If we can’t encourage loyalty with decent football we may as well make it financially enticing to be loyal.

I actually think our tickets are quite cheap for league 1. In fact, you could argue they should have been a bit more to finance a better squad.

He has been signed to give him free money for doing nothing. We resemble more of a charity than a football club. He probably came here with a sob story of being unemployed to Carol and good “christian” man Moore gave him a trial out of goodwill.

Or better yet, if all our fans go to their home game instead of the Vale one and do just that! Although it won’t affect us staying up if Rwading lose 3 points anymore. We won’t get ours back sadly.

They did..but Rudge was back in the 90s and MA was largely in the 4th division and was 15 years ago now. The game has changed. Although I do agree with the point that a rubbish manger on his own will still be rubbish with or without a DOF, but a rubbish DOF will still be a rubbish DOF. A good DOF is one that lets a good manager focus on the football. I thought Flitcroft was allowed too much reign on the actual football.

That’s a fair point. To sign dreadful players you need to be finding them and Flitcroft wasn’t doing that on his own. Our scout network has been appalling for years. We seem to make lazy signings that are either obviously poor to anyone with a basic knowledge of the league or are at best adequate for the money. Last signing we made on a permanent deal who surprised me at how good they were was Garrity.

Here’s an interesting one. Name a successful league club without a DOF.

Carol isn’t so old that we need to be thinking about that. She could do another 20 years easy.
