So because of more European competitions the likes of Crawley v Leyton Orient can't have a replay in the First Round. Some of my best Vale memories with Vale are cup replays, Everton, Derby and for older fans Sunderland and Liverpool even though we lost. Never again!

So it doesn't go on
Yes it does .
Somebody who used play told me it goes ON .
They are good enough and why would you be low on confidence after playing superbly first half surely you come out and do the same again second half GRANVILLE.
Normally you get about 2 grand being bet on correct scores in lower league games over the whole country, but suddenly about 12 grand was placed overall on Accrington 0 Bury 2 in 2008. That was how it finished and it took 12 months to fine and suspend four Accrington players.

It's relevant to PVFC, I don't think it really matters what section it's in, except obviously if it was somewhere else it would get less traction.
I am rather surprised at the interest and engagement in the topic, but I guess for many it's some kind of morbid curiosity. I've long since moved on from the days of Norman, so I don't particularly care what he's up to. Saying that, it is a little strange if he is interested in Tranmere of all clubs. I'm surprised he's had any success at all in business endeavours given his time with us and if he's looking at a club like Tranmere.
Well his interest in Tranmere isn't strange if you know who their commercial manager is!

Surely we have a win in us to make it interesting? I still feel Cheltenham will hit a bad run so we need to get a win to chase that 20th place.
I really hope we play attacking football. If we go behind it is always game over
Cheltenham are in a bad run now, one win in eight

I will be delighted if we can take it to the last game v Cambridge, and still have the possibility of League 1 football in our own hands. I suspect that this is the best we can hope for.
Tell that to people like Grumpy Old Man!

Well yes, but the point I was making that if Reading get points reductions, which they very likely will the sanctions as I understand it would be 15 points this time, so they would be doomed. Although yes, absolutely we don’t want to be 4th bottom! 😀
Reading are sorted for this season so won't get any more deductions.

Pretty sure I went to all 17, and if memory serves, the game that broke the losing streak was a 1-0 home win against Ipswich. Our goal was the softest penalty you've ever seen. I think Ray Walker scored the goal.
Plymouth actually

19 games in the 1965-66 season is our longest without a win I believe.
That didn't happen! Longest we went that season was 6 !

Port Vale WILL Manage to get Relegated This Season! Last Night, They were leading 2-0 to a team even below them ! - who scored in the 88min & 90+3mins to get a 2-2 Draw ! The Vale lost 2 points that would have lifted them out of the 4 relegation places ! - Anyone Believe they will score another goal this Season ? ?
We wouldn't have been out of the bottom four with a win

Without knowing all the facts, the price seems to be a hell of a lot. Don't they normally make 3 or 4 million a year?

Wow! Bought for £180m, which should buy a few forwards 😀. Synova is Europe’s top performing private equity company who have won House of the Year for four of the last seven years. We should be pleased but it’s a worry to think that DF may be allowed to spend the money. Just think of all those forwards he’s been chasing for the last two years 😬.
On a separate note, I wonder what the Synectics staff will think?
What is House of the Year?

Depends what you want from the club.
Every team in the EFL has one.
If you don't care about the EFL then I'm sure we could cope without,
They haven't all got a DOF

it'll be 4 weeks since Gore's 2 week injury on Saturday. Has he decided pro-football is not for him or what?
He was back training last week but limped out, maybe another injury!

Darren Moore a cheap option? Hahaha give over! What you on about he had 23 games in charge of Huddersfield so he wasn’t sacked after 4 games. Huddersfield have had 12 managers in the last 5 years work that one out 👍🏻 At Sheffield Wednesday he broke 4 records last season & overall has a 51% win ratio with them which is 2nd best in the clubs history! I’d say anything above 40% win ratio for a manager is more than decent. As much as I love Ainsworth & would be more than happy with him, Moore is by far a better candidate & by no means is he a cheap option. Ainsworth also struggled in his last job with a 20% win ratio which isn’t very good, out of the pair he would be the cheaper option but for me neither is a cheap manager & would cost a bit either way
Certainly isn't a cheap option. Taking a club like Sheffield Wednesday up from League One with their budget isn't the hardest thing to do though, although we could do worse.

Presuming we can get to around 48 points then I can see us going above only Shrewsbury. Depends on the 3 below staying there. Charlton will no doubt go on a run and have more squad depth. Reading seem to be on a roll and Burton pulling out some good wins. 48 points is a long way off though especially with no strikers

Charlton certainly are on a run, 15 without a win.

I'm struggling to see the positivity still.
We were dreadful.
An own goal, a dubious penalty and a raft of missed Stevenage chances.
We got away with one.
We're still massively in the brown stuff here.
The penalty certainly wasn't dubious, bit silly of the defender at that stage of the game though.

Flitcroft pretty much damned if he does and if he doesn't at the moment. Surely his number 1 priority is to recruit a manager?
Foyley also sounded pretty certain we had a top 10 budget unless I misheard him.
Yes it is a priority but he is an experienced manager, more experienced than the three he has left in charge.

Leutweiler, Cass and Walters are also up this summer although Walters has been offered a pro one. Presumably Shorrock will be offered one when he is 17 at the end of the month.
