  1. OK then. Won't be missed by me. Flitcroft is a different story however.
  2. Went to the opening night and it is a superb venture. There are a lot of blokes out there who feel it is a weakness to admit they are struggling with the demands that life and society puts on them. It is not weak to feel this way, but it takes great strength to have the balls to say that you find things difficult at times.
  3. Well that's what happens when you spend 2 years at Sheffield Wednesday
  4. 'Turkish Obscurity' sounds like one of them dodgy knock-off aftershaves that they sell on the market.
  5. And what are you basing that on? Cuz he doesnt shout and swear when things dont go his own way like a little child. Lesson for yourself there i suggest.
  6. I agree on Moore. He will come good but some of the players need to take a long hard look at themselves and ask why they think they deserve to be professional footballers.
  7. What? He chcikens out of headers and tackles. He's not done anything at this club. Nothing. He's 5 foot and a fag-end, how many headers do you bloody expect him to win?
  8. What we need is a return to old school values somewhat where young players would go out to non-league clubs and toughen up, not sit in sanitized academy structures. Thats why we have a team that cant battle because far too many of them have had a cushy football upbringing.
  9. I try to remain positive but how anybody could clap that embaressment of a performance is beyond me. I'm not someone who is going to get angry and aggressive at our own players but i did boo the performance as it was completely unacceptable on every level. But surely you cant applaud it. That assumes there was plenty of effort there which there just wasnt today. First time under Darren Moore I have said that too. You just leave quietly. I mean what were you actually applauding the few who did. That they turned up for the coach on time and managed to put their kit on correctly? Genuinely would like to know.
  10. Said it before, said it again. Martin Foyle.
  11. I disagree. Massey should be loads better. He is gutless. Think that is very harsh. He's a medicore footballer who has made the most out of limited ability presumably through hard work. He was asked to do a job today that he is completely unsuited to do as we all know from the start of the season. He tried but failed. Again, ultimately it boils down to piss poor recruitment. I've given Massey lots of stick over his time here but using him as a scapegoat today, now THAT is gutless.
  12. It did take Clarke 7 games to win and he was doing it at a lower level so that is a bit ridiculous. That side also did at least care and put effort in.
  13. Some talented players completely phoning it in today. Ojo, Debrah, Chislett, Iacovitti the worst culprits. Gutless cowards. Massey is one of the least talented but put in the most effort.
  14. The biggest charity case in Burslem at the moment is the first team squad. Absolutely unforgivable disgusting performance today. Carol, the fans, and Darren Moore deserve so much better.
  15. He's gotta go sharpish for me. He should be in the position now of identifying two sets of targets- one for league 2 and the other for league 1, and I don't trust him with either task. DoF a failed experiment for me. With Moore's connections his role is redundant. We need a chief scout who can spot a striker. Martin Foyle perfect choice for me.
  16. Don't know the full situation but your attitude really stinks. It isn't a rule but it should be a common courtesy. If you are going to write something that you know is going to be inflammatory then you should read more than one post before spouting comments. That is just being a decent human being. I wonder whether you would be so bold if you were face to face with the person.
  17. Yeah that was the one that came to my mind too, tried a stupid little flick when it needed a full on strong challenge that the player felt.
  18. Think its the manner of the comment that I think is unwarranted and saying there is only one person to blame- which is ridiculous really. There are a lot of people to blame, the vast majority of fingers point to Flitcroft, but there are some players who have been a disgrace since well before Christmas and are still now. I dont disagree with your comment that Carol has kept faith with Flitcroft long after it became apparent that he wasnt up to the job, same for Crosby but it's very easy to say '<ovf censored> off and sell the club' but there arent exactly a queue of buyers snaking down Hamill Road. Just dont think less than 90 minutes after the final whistle is the best time to post such inflammatory comments. That's my only issue.
  19. Cant disagree on Ojo. Good footballer but a luxury we can do without in a relegation scrap. Pulled out of too many tackles for me. Just not sure who i'd replace him with though.
  20. Not necessary. You can point the finger of blame at many people but not Carol. I'm sure she's hurting tonight.
  21. Would prefer both of them to Lowe and Jones tbh.
  22. Exactly. I think Liverpool won the league one year in the 70s with 14 players. Just doesn't happen today. The grossly inflated Champions League has a lot to answer for. The old European Cup was a direct knockout. You could win it by playing a handful of games. Again it all boils down to money.
  23. No chance. He is here for the foreseeable. He's an easy target when emotions are running high, I am as guilty of that as anyone, but you can't judge a director of football in the same light as a manager. A managers job is getting results in the here and now, they live or die by results. The director of footballs job is more about the long term so can only really be judged in 2/3 year cycles. Case for Flitcrofts defense is that 2 out of 3 managerial appointments in my eyes have been good (and even the harshest critic would struggle to say Crosby didn't deserve a chance given the job he did in the promotion season when Darryl was off), the loan signings we are getting are better season on season because players report back that they had a great experience and those links with big clubs are developing (Rhys Williams was a gamble worth taking because he would be immense in League 1) and I do think Gore will be pivotal because he is a huge upgrade on Massey as a wingback) and the signings are better too. Remember the days of Danny Pugh and Anthony Kay in midfield (shudder). Ultimately he will be judged on next season, not this. As for this transfer window, January windows are frenetic. You have 30 days to sort everything and not much could be done until funds were freed up. Ultimately the collapse of Uches move to Charlton and subsequent injury meant those expected funds never came. Just wasn't the time for plan B after that. Its a bit like moving house, you are waiting for 2 or 3 things to happen and if one falls through it puts paid for everyone. I moved back in with my parents temporarily before Christmas while I rented a new flat. I'm still here and it's nearly March. The one wildcard is the free agent market and playing for Darren Moore is a much more appealing prospect than playing for Andy Crosby so may still come good. Also has a lot more relevant contacts and players who have played with him before. The rumour I've heard is Dwight Gayle- he's desperate for a short term deal to put him in the shop window, lives locally and did well under Darren Moore at Sheffield Wednesday. He doesn't need the money, just the game time.
  24. We could do with a Loft conversion. I.e.- convert him to a player with footballing ability
