Bolton (A) match thread - 20th April
fuzzyvalefan replied to ollyandpatch's topic in Port Vale present
Anyone know if tickers are available on the day? -
Wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if it was the real Smurthwaite. Gloating in our dark hour is exactly the kind of scumbag behaviour one would expect from that blood sucking cockroach.
-
Worked really well in the last 18 months.
-
I thought Uche looked a bit surprised and gutted to be taken off if I'm honest but Loft wasn't an option. He was injurred in the warm up and was on the bench in name only.
-
Probably the team I would have gone for too. Plant is a good option to come off the bench.
-
Probably heard it here last too! 😏

2 deflections there but only got what we deserve. Gotta make at least 2 changes now. -

Massey is an absolute waste of a shirt. Was the same on Saturday. -

There is absolutely nothing in this lineup that is going to string attack as I can see. -

This is looking ominous already. -

In fairness what a stupid question to ask at this point. What's Moore going to do, he's not gonna say players are not in his plans beyond April when he needs them playing. -
Summer transfer rumours and speculation

Very odd news. Does the timing suggest he's straight in the squad tonight? -
Oh come on, that's very harsh. We all know James Wilson is a quality player when fully fit, his ability has never been in doubt. His problem is that he isn't fully fit very often and if he was he would be playing higher than League 1.
-
Seems that way. 😄

I know that Kyle Perry took a pay cut to sign for Vale from Chasetown.
-
Can see it more of a 4-4-1-1 myself. Sang and Shorrock as full backs, Massey and Plant as wingers. Ojo sits in, Garrity and Chislett alternate to support Loft. Or maybe it's a front 3 with Massey, Loft or Chislett. Christ knows really. The inclusion of Shorrock has thrown me. Is it to get Plant further forward? Guess we'll find out.

Ah yes, the famous Wigan kebab. For when a pie just doesn't have enough carbs for you. Nice though, although the key is plenty of butter on the barm (that's a bap to me and you)
-
Like League 2 😆

Glad they are upgrading. There are some real dodgy patches.

Play on the pitch - expressions of interest?

By the way, are Portly still playing, Would love to get involved. Been playing 3 times a week since I've lost a shitload of weight. Be nice to get back into 11 a side. -

Burton (A) match thread - 23rd March

Nah it was always 3 at the back. When Sang came on Planty went across to the left and Sang was very much right wing back- in fact given how dominant we were in the last 30 minutes he was essentially a winger. Thought the back 3 were superb, particularly Nathan Smith- proper captain's performance. Yak and Debrah also were superb. In fact, with the possible exception of Grant I thought every player was at least 8/10. Superb, battling performance in difficult conditions on a beach of a pitch. The performance that weve been crying out for for months and a bit of renewed hope. Easter weekend is now massive. -

And gave us a truly memorable moment in the process with Eagles' last minute screamer at Walsall to take it to the last day. In fact, once fit Chris Eagles nearly kept us up single handedlu that year.
