  1. When you look at the teams out tonight, we didn’t have a prayer. We are a mid table L2 team at the best. When this season ends questions need to be answered, why were key players not signed in the January window, why were the lessons not learnt from a year earlier, Darren Moore does not have a prayer with the squad he has inherited, why did we not sign key players. To rub it in we sign a player with 5 games left. Ok we have needed a LB for years, but why leave it till now.

yet the way he played today, more likely to go to leek town.🤐

He is just a young kid, he is going to have good games, but we cannot expect consistency from him, just shows how desperate we are cos Loft is not up it, and the other two strikers are sick notes, thanks to 3 poor transfer windows.

Actually I was trying to ask the question, hence the question mark, as to whether or not some of the money spent on community projects could have gone  towards a better player budget. Obviously it was a hamfisted attempt, but I can glean the answer from the replies.  However, since I am not an accountant, I must remember not to ask any further financial questions and I assume (probably incorrectly) that other non-accountants will do the same.

Seamus you have asked the question, a lot of Vale fans are thinking.

is there a supporters club meeting tonight? if so could be really interesting if carol and "it" were present to answer questions, well one question really "when's he going"

No the question for Carol is did you realise the finances to allow DF to bring decent players in. If the answer is negative then Flitcroft has been hung out to dry.

Nobody is saying Crosby is good. What I am saying is that Moore has not made us any better, in fact worse, as no way would we best Blackpool 3-0 today.

Crosby deservedly got the push, but Moore looks worse so far. You’d expect a bit of magic if he was truly good.

With the squad Moore has inherited, Paul Daniels would not have got any magic out of them!

If he wanted to play for the shirt, I would keep Funso as well as maybe Chissy. I reckon those 3 (including Garrity) are better than our promotion winning midfield a couple of years ago.

It's the defence that really needs sorting for me! Shocking. Players who were in the promotion side have gone down hill.

Also, might be a good idea to sign some strikers? Might be worth a thought? For league 2, I would keep Wilson.

Fully agree Diego, blimey sign some strikers, that would be radical for the Vale.

Avoiding the crap on the first couple of replies the obvious answer is that she hasn’t given him or us a competitive budget to work with. This is why she doesn’t put the blame on him because he was trying to build a competitive league 1 team on a mid table league 2 budget.

If it was any other way wouldn’t she have got rid of him given the circumstances? The most obvious answer is usually the right one. Forget all this she’s been hoodwinked or gaslit. They are just ridiculous accusations.

You have hit the nail on the head, Flitcroft is either totally inept, or he hasn’t got the money to make any decent signings. One or the other, other clubs around us are making signings, we obviously not, CF must be resigned to the drop.

Tbh people had their doubts on Moore before his appointment. 3 wins out of 23 games speaks volumes and therefore his current record no shock at all

So do we blame Moore for the last two January windows, and the lack of signings. Made worse by letting Pett, Worrall, Charsley, Cass, Hall, Benning etc go with no replacements in place. Moore could perhaps be blamed for some of the performances of late, but boy has he inherited a bag of tripe.
Thanks Carol and Flitters for that.

  9. Have read all the Happy Clapper messages on here this week, comments like we can do it, get behind the lads, etc etc. Most of us already knew the game was up weeks ago. We are hopeless throughout the side, we have let Conlon, Pett, Charley, Benning, Worrall go, all better than the current squad.

Carol says now is the time to stick together, rubbish, now is the time to explain to the Vale fans, what has happened at our club since Jan 23. We just survived last season, after a non event January transfer window. So what do we do this January, exactly the same, no striker, no LB, no left sided midfield.

Why did Carol allow this to happen, was it Flitcrofts ineptitude or Carol not realising funds. The caring Vale fans need to know, what have you done to our club. As for me that’s it, I’m finished.

Good luck loyal Valiants, you deserve better.

I am sorry but I really disagree I haven’t seen the same as you and haven’t seen many games where he has contributed much; admittedly he scored against Charlton but he hasn’t contributed much and I would release him to make room for a completely better player; opinions hey

There lies the problem, we won’t be signing any better players.

I always rated Cassy, he made the odd mistake  but he's a massive upgrade on what we've got at the moment He's got good pace and reads the game well , he was never given a proper run in the team , in my humble opinion 🤨

Football League World have expressed bewilderment at how in our current position we agreed to loan Cass to County, especially with Clarke out long term injury. Yet another strange decision made by who?

I don’t set out to insult you.

If you go to a restaurant and you pay 25 quid for a cold steak and burnt chips and the person serving it to you abused you, then I take it that you pay your bill and smile and go back next week?

If you go to the pub and have a warm pint for 5 quid and a bag of crisps out of date, you’d thank them and go back the following night?

If you went to work and those around you were on 2000 pounds a week and not putting any effort in, yet you were an up and coming lad, who puts a shift in and tries his best on 300 quid a week, you’d have no problem with that would you?

If your Mrs went out for weeks on end and you knew she was having an affair. Would you not be angry? Would you not be whiny? Would you not be a miserable son of a wretch? As you put it?
Probably just best to clap along and accept.

You see Tony, you keep debating with me.
You will end up getting personal because your debate does not stand up.

There is NOTHING wrong with “happy clapping”. Why? Because it’s everybody’s choice. People have choices in life. But I merely stated in my first post to not moan when you’re freezing in the paddock, potentially pissing in a portaloo again, after going one down against Crawley in front of 2500.

I would also suggest, only my opinion Tony, going off what you posted, is that if you’re just happy clapping for your health, then you aren’t truly invested in the club, have no fight, and therefore turn up, watch the football, clap good or bad and go home.

    Each to their own pal.
I would rather be a man and stand up and be counted and fight for this club.

    Have a wonderful day.

    Very well put post ST.

I don't understand why people think Flitcroft is absolutely awful at player recruitment but think the Clarke appointment was a good one. We had a more balanced squad before spending a lot of money clearing the "deadwood" and now we need to clear all the deadwood again. Squads evolve, recruiting 50+ players in a couple of seasons is never going to be successful. As we can see.

So it’s all Clarkes fault. Unbelievable

  14. Leyton Orient have signed a striker yesterday from Cardiff, he left Cardiff under a cloud, but Welles’s sees potential there. So there are players available to sign. If the intent is there.
