  1. Decision for next season - this season L1 survival
  2. The DoF decision can wait till next season - we have 9 games left to save ourselves from the more than likely scenario of relegation. We have got rid of AC, got rid of DF (who I think has not had a good transfer window since we came into L1 to be honest and his position had become untenable) so now lets see what our players and DM can do. As for Carol, yes she has made mistakes but we are in a better position with her than most clubs. My youngest asked when are we going to the Vale next (4 hour round trip), I said why we keep losing, she replied but you said we support the team through thick and thin, we are VTID. This made me think since '84 when I first went on a Tuesday evening standing the the railway paddock I knew each season some teams get promoted, some teams stay in the league and some get relegated. Lets face it I've seen quite a few relegations / promotions since '84 and always accepted the possible three outcomes. Taking my daughter these last few seasons has made me connect back with the club and I have thoroughly enjoyed travelling to Vale park and banter with my fellow fans (every home game is an away day as I say). Due to other commitments I can only go to the last two Saturday home matches - hoping we have a chance to stay up but if we are relegated so be it; its the chance we take each season. I will be there for Port Vale and the fans- not the players (they have let the fans down massively I feel in their performances and attitude), nor the owners. Players, Managers, DoFs and owners come and go but the fans and the club remain season after season with hopes and aspirations like every football fan. So for the 9 games left lets hope DM can motivate our players, - they owe us more than 9 games of good performances this season no matter what the excuses are; they are supposed to be professionals. Think we all need to hope and get behind the team now - 3 points on Saturday would be a massive boost for all concerned. Good luck and safe travels to fans home and away - see you on the 13th April - Until then UTV.
  3. All the team is simply not good enough for L1 standards.
  4. 7 from safety with 11 to play - current form 1 point from 21 with the so called new manager bounce. We are down - players have no confidence, club losing direction and fan trust. DF and CS playing fiddles whist Rome burns. Worst season I can remember I have been through relegation a few times since ‘86 but this season we are gutless with no clue or direction. Been heading this way since Colin Garlic suddenly left and DF seemed to take over. Patrick is no Colin and DF a total fraud just look at Bury. Anyway resigned to relegation only silver lining if we do CS wakes up smells the roses and boots DF out of our club.
  5. This is s**t - 1 out of a possible 21 maybe AC was not the problem let’s try to guess who are/is 🤔🤔🤔🤔 This will be seriously denting big Dazz overall career win ratio. We are down - we are our own worst enemy as a team. No strikers no defence FFS what did DF think would happen this season.
  6. Come on Vale give us a win lads we the fans deserve it.
  7. Well said and for all those wishing for Carol, Kevin and co. to sell up and go over this disaster of a season just remember for every one Carol, Kevin and co. there are at least ten Smurfs out there ready and willing to F**k it up more and run it just for them.
  8. The league doesn’t lie. We are where we are by our own merits. I hope DM works miracles over the next 14 games and we survive but realistically I can’t see that happening with how we are playing. Recruitment has been poor and if DF had final say over players then if relegated he has not done his job well enough so he had to go. No way will he go before the end of the season so no point in calling for it. The team so are playing woeful this needs to be addressed if some are not playing because they don’t want to put the young ones in. All must remember relegation’s on CV’s don’t look good whoever is to blame. If not for the shirt they wear play for personal pride. Calling for Carol to go - unwise as nobody is queuing up to buy us. She saved the Vale last time and lightning very rarely strikes twice in the same place. Extra investment yes we need it and we may be able to convince but at all out buy out - very much doubt it. The next 14 games - 42 points on offer is our season now. Leave the inquests till after and however hard it is we must support the team. We have been here before and no doubt we will be here again - that is the Vale. It has been a very disappointing season the striker issue being diabolical and the main reason why we are in this mess in my opinion - but that’s old news everyone knows this. A out of contract end of playing career out and out striker maybe the way to go - worth a punt as they say. If relegated we miss derby matches against Crewe and more likely Stoke very hard to take and if that can’t motivate our players god knows what will. Looking to Fleetwood now FFS a win or at least a draw please give us something to build on. VTID
  9. So much for that new manager bounce P*ss poor performance and we are running out of games fast.
  10. Got to say it looks bleak. Team looks not up to L1 standard. DM has a massive job on his hands keeping us up. Hard to comprehend L2 status with 15 games still to go in L1.
  11. Why do we not get it in the box this side ways passing and passing back s**t is really beginning to p**s me off. We are not and never will be a Man City with these players and in this league. FFS - this is a bad result
  12. I would think DM may know some free agents who could do a job in this league.
  13. Five years to re build go forward and yes get championship ready. If he does well and another club comes for him then compensation. We have a proven manager with higher league experience he will deliver given the backing. Put some stadium project a side for a couple of years (a part from the toilet situation) and divert funds for the 1st team. Well done Carol and DF for getting DM in. First priority L1 status then build for the future. More optimistic of L1 survival now and with the game off tonight billy bonus more time to access the team and put things in place.
  14. All I want is a performance worthy of the shirt - win lose or draw. first option is preferable
  15. It is obvious from the open letter that Carol values DF and no way is she sacking him. For this season at least the only way DF leaves is by his own resignation. What we do have is an owner who has put a hell of a lot of money into the Vale and still does. The best owner we have had in many a year (no decades). We must not alienate Carol from us. Look at Sheffield Wednesday and the mess they are in with the owner and fans or Reading to that matter. This season is now 18 games of cup finals and tin hats. 54 points are still to play for. United we stand divided we fall. We need an experienced manager who motivates the players we have got to at least have pride in the shirt, play for the fans and the club and move us out of relegation. A tall order yes - but until we are mathematically down we are not relegated. Not how we all envisaged the season going but that is football. It’s either L1 or L2 next season. This will be the most important and crucial manager appointment in Carols ownership to date. Let’s hope DF gets it right for all of us. Roll on Saturday against a very good side that knows how to win. AC has gone, DF is going no where, we’ve read a letter which had some parts most don’t like and some parts that some do like and to we need a new manager. Typical Vale it’s not a season without drama. VTID
  16. I agree also - we did have a very good and well respected CEO till DF appeared on the scene - not been the same since Colin left.
  17. Bottom 4 as it stands. Everything on the pitch is down to the DoF as we’ve been told. Time to go. Shambles from being 2nd in the league.
  18. We need experience end of and unfortunately you need to pay for experience. Maybe the real reason behind the January transfer window. DF edging his bets as they say (yet again).
  19. New manager may have been found and wants their first team coach? Rats sinking ship? Carol goes for the hat trick and its DF tomorrow or later today? Never a dull moment at the Vale is it
  20. Has been mentioned Duff - out of work so no compensation to pay, preferred formation 3-5-2. Did well for Cheltenham and Barnsley - not so good at Swansea but let’s face it as a manager you will get sacked one day.
  21. DF needs to go now - even his matrix must indicate that.
  22. For me things have gone down bank since Colin Garlic left. A man who knew how to run a football club under very difficult circumstances. We were 16th in League 1 when he left if I recall. This shambles is down to all but ultimately the DoF as all footballing matters on the pitch is down to him. Both AC and DF need to go.
  23. DoF gives AC his letter then Carol calls DoF in to give him his letter. Is that wishful thinking 🤔
