  1. Vale are not good enough for Lge 1 and we won't be good enough for Lge 2 if the quality of recruitment doesn't improve significantly. Just dire.
  2. It's only a flesh wound. Vale are just no good enough but when you're down it doesn't go for you, when it rains it pours. How the hell did Smith's header not go in, tremendous save from their keeper to save Wilson's shot, why was Smith penalized when Vale got the ball in the net. How can the Vale leave a former player who they know has a good left foot unmarked from a corner, total lack of concentration. Big 45 mins coming up.
  3. Surprised Chislett and/or Mighten are not starting but the manager usually knows best.
  4. Must win to day if we are to stay up, gotta get behind the team and cheer them on to 3 pts no matter what.
  5. Only watched the highlights but brutal KO by Joshua of Ngannou. Just highlights a fighter needs a defense especially when fighting someone with the punching power of Joshua.
  6. Any Vale fan wants a situation like this to be resolved amicably. I can think for myself and certainly don't want anyone to spoon feed me anything. just think through "The will of the people" and what the consequences could be for PVFC if the main demand, Flitcroft's removal, isn't met in an acceptable timeframe. The Shanahan family have shown they are open to questioning and will listen to fans but at the end of the day the buck stops with them and whether they continue as owners of PVFC or not. PVFC have the most professional owners for many, many years, lets not jeopardize it as fans.
  7. Bede, What is planned by the SC, B&G and NLV if Flitcroft isn't removed in a timely fashion? I am in no way defending Flitcroft but there may be other reasons why recruitment has been poor that are beyond his control, eg money, pay structure and ceilings etc. If the latter are the case I would hope the club would come out and communicate the reasons in some way.
  8. If Dan Gore came back from injury and saved us from going down then Man U would become my favorite second team albeit still way, way, way, way back. We need a miracle.
  9. Must win game for Vale if we are to stay up. After this game there are only 5 home games left and even if we win them all it only gets us to 47pts which I doubt will be enough to remain in Lge 1. Not being negative but its's the reality of the situation. After recent performances I can't see us picking up many pts away from home or sufficient at home unless there is a monumental change in fortune.
  10. I commend the Shanahan's for having such a meeting as it can improve and maintain the contact and relationship with the club's customer/fan base as long as the fans understand their place in this. However, the downside is that if the "baying mob" don't get their way things can slide downhill even quicker and it can undermine the position of the leader of the organization. For all the titles Carole is the leader of PVFC, she appoints leaders of various departments to help her get the job done and achieve objectives at PVFC. Every business has one leader who listens to their reports and makes decisions on which they swim or sink. A business cannot be run by committee or a group of fans as ask 10 people a question and usually 10 different answers will be received. Carol will know what's caused the Vale to be in the relegation zone of Lge 1, she doesn't need consultants to tell her it's poor recruitment. She will also know the Lge position and remaining in Lge 1 are the two objectives that carry the most weight by far for the club, not training pitches or the Bycars bogs and internally she will be thinking to herself and talking to others to find out why, what are the reasons the recruitment has been so poor this last 4 windows and working/making plans to rectify it somehow. Out of this whole sorry mess it will be a disaster for PVFC if the Shanahan's decided to sell up now, the finger points at Flitcroft for the poor recruitment but Carol may decide it's the size of the budget, the wage cap etc that's the problem or something related. Lessons have to be learned from this to ensure it doesn't happen again. I appeal to fans to be patient with Carol as she has a track record of making the right decisions at the appropriate time. I just wish I had 5 million quid to gift the club.
  11. I just don't agree with that either, Weir was everywhere on Saturday and in previous games and put himself about and didn't flinch any tackles. The only Vale player I've seen pull out of a tackle this season is James Wilson. We know he's made of glass so I'm OK with this if it's in the opposition half 'cause we need him fit and available as he does offer a goal threat (I would concede not much of one this season) and has the ability to do the unexpected.
  12. Not true. The 50:50 tackle he thundered into on Saturday, in the 2nd half in Vale's half, in which he hurt himself and the Derby player suggest he's not pulling out of 50:50 challenges. He was booked on Saturday so after that he had to watch his step. If anything Ojo doesn't look 100% fit to me.
  13. Tom Pope should have been bought in earlier in the season to help/coach Uche, Loft and Dipepa, on the art of goal scoring, how to attack and head the ball and positional play. Could have a huge positive impact on Dipepa in particular.
  14. just why we can't get key signings over the line I don't know, is it the budget, length of contract, Stoke-on-Trent, family reasons etc? Carol has made the club a more "Attractive place" to be as may players have said who did sign on the dotted line. However 4 poor windows in a row and no lessons seem to have been learned, it can't go on, the recruitment process needs new blood.
  15. Men against boys, Vale were never in that game. Can't understand why Mighten is not getting much of a chance. Tough to see where the next win is going to come from, we can't score but we concede silly goals, it's bleak. Every knows this situation is down to poor recruitment, Flitcroft has presided over 4 poor transfer windows and he has to go, Vale can't afford to entrust him with another one whatever Lge we're in. Carol needs to stay and be ruthless with Flitcroft asap.
  16. You're getting boring now 593, just be true to your word and stay away.
  17. Get the Tennis balls out. This team/squad couldn't compete in the National League.
  18. It's a two horse race so there's aways a chance but having said that I will be watching from behind the settee.
  19. Ojo looks injured and not 100% fit to me, if you watch him when he hasn't got the ball at his feet he's not moving easily/smoothly. I reckon he's playing because of the situation Vale find themselves in and if he did shirk a tackle it was to not make any injury worse.
  20. PV From Carol's point of view there's few negatives, presumably she just wants out of Synectics for whatever reason(s). How do you know she's left 10 million in debt in the business that she has kept, it depends on what's been negotiated with the buyer. It's not unknown that a buyer of a business writes off/assumes any debts owed to it, at the end of the day it's all in the purchase price. Vale fans will likely find out what PVFC owes the new owners of Synectics, if anything, in due course.
  21. Agree SRE, given the size of Ripley both Fleetwood player and ball should have ended up in the center circle. Ripley made some good saves though.
  22. Sickening result catalysed by an awful mistake. This squad is not good enough for Lge 1.
  23. Audio in and out last 3 games, video fine but last 15 mins of this game audio was fine.
  24. Can't ask much more than that 1st half performance from Vale. keep the concentration, no silly mistakes and break up the play if they get a head of steam up and Vale should be OK.
