  1. Not for much longer. Surely got to be redundancies coming after this shambles of a relegation season with the imminent revenue cuts.

It’ll be interesting to see how many away followings over 1000 we get in league 2… revenues will take a massive hit! Unless we are riding high in the league, c6k average crowds will become the new norm.
  2. Strange that, neither could DM.

The problem we have is we have no one else to put in, it’s that simple! Not a good answer to your point, failures in the transfer market, failures in leadership recruitment - Moore did 5 games with NO coaching staff??? The players we do have, have zero fight, none of them win their individual battles! The tactics are dross, we look clueless going forward (most of the time)

Gutting, we’ve had so many chances through the season to stay out of the bottom 4… zero fight, they are all terrified of defeat, so much so, it’s stifling!

As it stands, I have zero thought that Moore can build a squad to get back out of league 2…. He can’t get a tune out of this squad
  3. Not good enough. Boring and negative. Plant getting shown up, absolutely honking performance (not his fault as not a wing back).

Probably 3 players not even near it, Massey, Walters and Plant. They are no where near good enough in a game like this, where you have to scrap and fight, I’d wonder if walters and plant have had 10 touches between them?
  4. Oh well.
Disastrous time to concede but totally deserved.
Not sure what we try and achieve now ?

It’s a joke when you have a throw in down the right, half way inside the posh half and you lazily throw the ball right to one of there players… they go on the attack, win a corner and the rest is history…. 1 nil down, only what we’ve deserved really, we are getting battered!

  5. If only we’d have kept our cools, V Fleetwood, V Portsmouth, V Carlisle…. Having said that, we’ve had our fair share of last minute spoils to get points V Wycombe V Charlton V Stevenage (98mins!)…. Some very close calls! Just hope we stay solid and Nick points over the next 5 games

  6. Yep this in a nutshell. It would ve actually of been easier for him to slot it to Baylee than try a shot. I personally was mortified he didn't pass but nothing surprises me any more with this team.

He did reasonably well, but his anticipation needs a lot of work, if he’s going to be a top striker. There were a couple of opportunities V Northampton whereby he could’ve had a clear goal scoring opportunity, had he followed in more quickly than the defender, anticipation…. And taking a chance
  7. At 17 and being selected ahead of any other forward for England, that is a clear indication he’s becoming the considered one of the best striker in the country for his age. Being picked ahead of premier league youth players… What we should be saying is what clubs aren’t looking at him, you’d have to think most premier league clubs will be taking a look.

It’s great press for the club and a massive positive for the continued youth production line we’ve been churning out.

Keep smashing it BP, lovely being linked to the likes of United.

  8. If you’d have told me in midweek that Flitcroft would be gone, Vale would beat Burton and Loft would score the winner … I’d have said you are very positive and I hope that optimism turns into reality, please leave your contact details so I can comment on the accuracy of your prophecy should it occur.

Get the F in, that was a massive away win… we’ve still got Cambridge to come as well, that win was a long time coming and massive boost to the teams confidence and no doubt belief that we CAN DO IT!
  9. Suddenly things look a bit better… Oxford dropped off a cliff, next to Vale Park. Followed up by Burton in touching distance, all with games in hand. Green shoots.

We can do this…. 6 points behind reading, 2 games to the good, 6 points from Cambridge and 1 game to the good. Great clean sheet tonight and we should’ve had a pen!

  10. But we knew this before mate it’s nothing new. I don’t agree reading are woeful they’ve got a good record at home especially recently. They will be comfortably clear end of the season & they’ve had 4 points deducted

Defensively we are beyond woeful, we give the ball away too easily, the opposition transition down the wings we just cave, give too many yards away, backing off….. we don’t close any purposeful/attacking pass down, too easy to get into our box… that last goal, 5, FIVE vale players inside the 6 side box + the goalkeeper and we still concede, every single one of them flat footed, they had 2, maybe 3 players in the 6 yard box, including the incoming goalscorer.

It’s a joke, unless they sharpen up, react quicker and defend higher up the pitch, instead of having 7-8 players defending the box as the opposition is attacking… feels like we have a defend the box mentality or way of playing and we are just conceding too many!

We are going down, there’s nothing to suggest it’s going to get any better (yet)

  11. Not seen any rumours on Devine? Need to keep him ideally or we will be in a mess midfield wise!
Need a Wing Back still, a problem position for us in recent seasons, midfielder to cover (2 if Alfie goes) and a loan Striker or a punt on a promising one on a permanent.
A lot depends on how far away Ojo is I guess though, if Devine goes Ojo and Weir with Chislett in the 10 isn't the end of the world.

Huddersfield I’d heard had maybe enquired for Devine… could be pure hearsay though
  12. Spot on mate, stepped up to "seasoned pro" mode to be an excellent role model for the youth of the club.

10 goals for the season and we’ve just completed December - the lad is a massively valuable asset and will be going places beyond vale, wouldn’t be surprised if we see a few bids. His energy, his leadership, his tackling and of course his finishing, we know he’s got it in him from the promotion season, he just gets better and better

UTV - great result and great to see Jambo back with 2 goals and a new contract!

  13. Or the 42179 (actual paid)  v Liverpool in 1964 replay, when scousers gatecrashed the paddock and thousands got in free.I ended up sitting on Hamil end of ,pitch adjacent to the goal.Frightening night.

A couple of scousers paid for my then 12 year old dad, to go in to the Vale end, as he was sat on a wall trying to watch the game. (His folks couldn’t afford for him to go)

  14. It’s a history making quarter final HOME fixture… what is the issue? Do you have to pay potential long journey travel expenses? Do you have to pay a premier league pricing (Man U has been quoted) people need perspective - don’t see any reason why this would not sell out?

Once in a lifetime game of football at vale park! Sds very reasonable to me, UTV
