So I heard. Highly unlikely we’d have won out over Derby.

Derby probably more than doubled any Vale offer.

We might have got him if Collins hadn’t got injured and Derby needed a replacement.

Well in a lot of them he's appeared disinterested & happy for the game to take place around him - he might have been trying, but he gave a good impression of someone who wasn't.

Yesterday was different. Body language much better, looked up for the fight & worked his nuts off. That's all I ask of him - and the same goes for the other 10 on the pitch.

For the first time in weeks we looked together as a team. There's 5 teams in a scrap now & if we can continue to fight in this way we have a chance of survival.

Cambridge at home could be win to stay up.

Our worst performance of the season was away at Fleetwood. In my opinion Loft was the only one who was trying in the game.

I don’t know. I’ve see plenty a game here he’s not tried. All criticism of a striker with his record is well deserved in my opinion. Did well today though and hopefully a platform for him and us to build on

Tell me all these games where he’s not tried?

I think that to be a strong leader you have to listen to the advice of those around you but ultimately come to your own decision. If that decision ends up being a mistake then you learn from it.

I'm sure Carol will have made plenty of decision in the past going against advice that have got her where she is.

I'm also sure she will have made decisions in the past, going against advice she was given which she later regretted.

If she didn't go with her gut and published the letter she would probably now still be thinking that if she had things may have been different. That her show of faith in flitcroft and the players may have galvanised the squad and got the results we needed.

Even worse not going with her gut may have made her second guess every bold decision in the future.

Most people who have become incredibly successful in life look back at a point in their life where they had an idea and went with it, when everyone else told them it would never work, as the decision that made them.

Apparently, she was advised by her legal people not to buy the Vale!

Methinks you've touched the very nerve, Investing, what's been spent is superficial, absolutely nothing on and for building a team, it's a fact the Emporess has no clothes, all wind and phiss as been given to those that lobbied the owner, the next stage will tell if any of the hollow words have any credence, there's definitely trouble at'the Mill to be sure, money where your mouth is or it's a continuous spiral down and out, summers going to be a long wait, or a surprising regeneration, don't hold ya breath.

That is one of the longest sentences I’ve read on here.

Man utd deserved win in my opinion there players and fans appeared to be more up for the game than Liverpool. The only thing that Liverpool could perhaps question is Bruno Fernandes not getting sent off during the 90 minutes for 2 yellow cards. He got booked for dissent then commited another foul worthy of a booking that the ref took no action with. Also has the players celebrating with fans rule that usually result in a booking being scrapped as rashford scored and didn't get booked and seen it plenty of times recently at vale where the opposition player scored celebrate with fans but no booking.

I thought you didn't get booked for celebrating with fans but only if you left the field of play to do so.  Leaning over the barrier is fine but jumping over it into the crowd isn't.

    Rudge was great but even he went on a run of 18 games without a win?However,he made up for that by signing some great players such as Osher Williams,Alan Webb,Andy Jones,Mark Grew,Ray Walker,Bob Hazell,Darren Beckford,Simon Mills,Darren Hughes,Gary Ford,Dean Glover,John Jeffers,Neil Aspin,Nick Cross,Kevin Kent,Robin van der Laan,Martin Foyle,Keith Houchen, Peter Swan,Ian Taylor,Paul Musselwhite,Steve Guppy,Tony Naylor,Jon McCarthy,Lee Mills,Ian Bogie,Gareth Ainsworth,Peter Beadle,Michael Walsh and Marcus Bent.Sorry if I've missed anybody.
Recruitment is critical and sadly we have gone downbank?

Peter Beadle was no replacement for Mills.

During that run of 18 games under Rudgie I believe there was something going on between the players. One of them was giving  another player’s wife a burst on his banjo.

  8. Interesting quote from Eddie Howe.

“Your football club’s success depends on recruitment. It’s that important. Who you bring into your football club really dictates what happens afterwards. I’m not involved in the structure of how we set up those departments. That’s other people’s jobs, but I’ll certainly welcome any changes that are positive for what we do.”

The other thing with Norm was that it wasn’t all work work work. He kept a healthy work life balance and managed to find plenty of time for his other activities.

And he was a part time dentist.
