And Sunderland are currently looking at the Prem, if you want to play that game.
Honestly, do you think we should and could have done better with our pre-season (and present) preparations?
I said this last week and got laughing emojis 'cause we'd won but if Stoke had gone in to their season with a partially complete squad (1 fit striker and 1 keeper) and a lack of match sharpness, and interviewing players via zoom from Spain, we'd have been laughing our heads off at them.
Yes I do think we could have done better with our pre season but as there is bugger all I can do about it I’m not getting my knickers in a twist.

Stories on the Swindle forums that after his sending off he went into the referee’s room and did a load of damage. Await confirmation.

That isnt the case. He turned down offers to join clubs who were offering more than we were (mainly as a number 2). He was at Wycombe at the same time as our GK coach (your ex GK) Scott Brown and has signed for us on a one year deal only as a means of putting himself in the shop window for a bigger move next season back into the Championship. Maybe your club have been looking at keepers who you want to commit longer than a one season deal? We only wanted a keeper on a one year deal as we are developing a keeper in our Academy who we hope will become our No1 in a year or two.
I heard we had offered him two years but he only wanted one which seemed bizarre.

But we knew all that a year ago. We knew in January that we'd need a new keeper and the management presumably knew we would need strikers back then too. I don't buy all these excuses for not being ready for the new season. There should have been plans in place to cover both League One and League Two, not all this blaming that we didn't know which league we'd be in. Grimsby, Sunderland and Forest all went up via the play-offs and they've managed to get full squads together.
Grimsby have one point from two games and Forest had an extra week to get their squad together, a squad which failed to get a shot on target today and were, apparently, played off the park at Newcastle. And this despite spending more than £80 million!

On a different note couldn’t help thinking Blackman was the one that got away watching him today. Very commanding keeper.
If Exeter are paying him what he wanted from us they must have money to burn.

You knew Tim, why didn’t Bratt and Co? They were either equally dodgy or deeply stupid.

Has anyone used the station since Platform 1 and the main entrance was closed for repairs. How do you get in and out?

I see Starmer has been found guilty of breaching the MP's code of conduct eight times but it's ok he's apologised.
Talk about double standards?
If I had a quid for every kid who ever tried to get out of trouble by saying “but he was doing it as well” I’d be a millionaire!

When you compare Torie MPs to Labour MPs, Labour have have 34%of seats.
Claims above are 35% against Labour MPs.
Does this mean Labour MPs are more dodgy?
No, it means there are lies, damn lies and statistics.

I attended the meeting in the Valiants Suite during which Ames spent half an hour filling the room with utter BS.
Ames son Matthew, was found guilty of setting up another ponzi scheme and was sentenced to 40 months in prison in 2014. What a lovely family. And it tells us everything we need to know about the moral compass of a number of V2001 directors.

It's Swindon that are massive if we were both playing them this season they would sell 5000 tickets in 2 minutes and the car park would be sold out in 5 minutes too.
I can't remember Exeter ever bringing anymore than 350 to vale but alot of the meetings have been night matches. I can remember a night match at Exeter in 2009 when vale took about 90 and lost 1 nil against 10 men. I was listening to it on the radio and Dave brammer had a shot from the half way line and I thought <ovf censored> this <ovf censored> turned it off and went the pub.
That was the game when Dean Glover selected a 4-6 formation with no strikers!

Quoting the Guardian just proves how bad it was for Labour.
So you believe the Guardian when it suits you but not when it doesn’t? Mmmm.

I seem to recall that we had a torrid time with keepers a few years back, ended up with emergency loan after emergency loan from week to week. It's not just the in game injuries that we need to worry about.
That wasn’t because of injuries, it was because they were crap!

According to the Guardian,Labour lost the 2019 election because of :-
1.Jeremy Corbyn.
2.Manifesto.
3.Brexit Strategy.
4.The collapse of the "Red Wall".
5.Election strategy.
But you don’t believe a word of what it says in the Guardian do you?

What happened between 2017 and 2019 then?
The Tory press - and the BBC crucifying him in that interview. If you remember that was the series of interviews that Johnson chickened out of.

A fair number of season tickets have been sold to folk who have registered their grandchildren for the Junior Valiant scheme even though they are too young to go. My mate in Oz has a ST and has them for his three grandchildren who are all back in Oz. These seats will be empty on match days but there is nowt the club can do about that.

A lot of clubs will have lined up players long before the transfer window opened and probably had all the paperwork done and dusted ready to announce. We couldn’t do that because until the last few days of May we didn’t even know what division we were going to be in. We probably had two lists and didn’t know which one we were going to action until then. We have been playing catch up ever since. Yes we would have liked to have signed all our new recruits by now but this is the real world, not fantasy football where you commit pretend money and failures can be chucked out at any time.

Just had stroll up Vale earlier to get MK Dons ticket.
Noticeable already the increase in the cost of everything.
Exeter away seats 27 quid
MK away 24 quid
Think I also saw something like 30 quid and 27 quid coach fares for the same fixtures.
Wonder what the top price we'll pay this season.
27 for Exeter seats is very expensive.
Coach prices seriously affected by fuel costs.

Maybe but the Many didn't agree and in 2019 he suffered one of the worst general election results in living memory.
Yet in 2017 when no one gave Corbyn a prayer Labour got within less than a million votes of the Tories. They also took away the Tory majority and led to May having to get into bed with the right wing DUP.
Lots of rewriting of history going on I this threa.
