  1. And yes, the timing absolutely wreaks and really shines a bad light on some.
  2. It will be interesting to see who the next manager is. In our current position we need somebody who is going to be pragmatic rather than idealistic (although I think we all know who’s to blame there) and who is capable of squeezing every last bead of sweat out of them. John Eustace had Brum on a good run - would he come? Joey Barton is just an absolute weapon so a definite no-no…….. My guess??? It is a bit left-field….. but Steve Evans. You heard it here first.
  3. What’s Alex Neil up to these days??
  4. More like how he’d had to act as his Excel spreadsheet was showing Crosby’s performance data was trending lower 🧐
  5. I would but I’m incontinent so daren’t risk it 🤣🤣🤣
  6. What’s the betting that Dunn plays 4-4-2 tomorrow 🤣🤣 Honestly, I don’t know whether to laugh or cry. If Vale was a soap opera people would be moaning it was far-fetched.
  7. Are you mental??????? You have seen a picture of him haven’t you??? Can’t you remember what Norman said??????!!!! On a serious note, I think he’s a top manager and would love to see him at Vale, but absolutely way out of our league.
  8. Isn’t he also related to Flitcroft, cousin or something? I might be wrong.
  9. They will have Rampaging Ryan Loft though! 😭
  10. Has he ever been on the verge of the sack??????? I don’t think so. He’s won 3 out of his last 21, why should he fear the sack???? 🫣
  11. I agree with some of that, not necessarily all. Not sure there’s deep resentment around developments off the pitch. Remember the absolute sh!tshow Smirthwaite left, years of under-investment and crumbling, virtually non-existent in some cases, infrastructure. Maybe I’m being naive but I don’t think you can argue too much about developments there, attracting / schmoozing corporate clients is unfortunately the main way to subsidise ‘Average Joe’ (not referring to you btw!) on the Paddock. Because so much needed doing around the place, it has allowed Flitcroft to create his own little fiefdom and as a result you can’t help but think he is taking home a decent amount of money for his ‘wisdom’. I’d love some comment on his transfer record, 50+ plus transfers and comfortably 3/4rs have been average to absolute <ovf censored> I’d say. Crosby is hopelessly out of his depth as a manager and simply a ‘yes’ man. The buck absolutely stops at the top but I, and from what I heard a decent portion of the hapless 1,100 at Fleetwood, know who the problem is. I hoping Carol is suffering from sort of ‘gamblers fallacy’ in that she’s invested so heavily in Flitcroft that she’s praying he eventually comes good, rather than it being anything more sinister. That said, with the bizarre Robbie Williams ‘President’ nonsense, Tommy Mac signing for Burnley, rumours about Williams “injury”, Walters apparently having signed for Stoke, not to mention another set of bogs out of order, literally nothing surprises me anymore. Whatever is the truth, I fear we are goosed this season. For JJ Hooper read Ryan Loft.
  12. Off topic but in case this escaped anyone: Swindon Town sign strikers Harry McKirdy & Aaron Drinan and winger Sean McGurk - BBC Sport WWW.BBC.CO.UK
  13. 3 wins in 20 is our current record, I understand. Shocking.
  14. Rest assured, I will not be there Tuesday night! I’d rather sit through THREE episodes of EastEnders than watch Crosby’s Vale at the moment 🤬🤬🤬🤬
  15. Wow, Carlisle taking over 800 to Orient. Incredible. A trek and half that is.
  16. Nothing else to say really that hasn’t already been said. I thought early doors this season had the same feeling as the relegation season and at 11pm on 1 February those fears were crystallised. I’d love to know why we are wedded to 3-5-2 I really would. It is just crazy. Surely to God it must be easier to recruit players used to more orthodox systems??? How many WB’s are on the market?? How many footballing CB’s are there? I’m really struggling to think of any team that is successful playing this way. Liverpool, City, Arsenal don’t; Villa or Newcastle don’t; Leicester, Southampton or Leeds don’t; Portsmouth or Derby don’t??? So if it’s not deemed a sensible system for these teams, then why is it suitable for little old Port Vale with the budget a fraction of said teams?? It just utterly defies logic and is beyond mental to me. I’ve not attended since the Boro game and I ain’t going back anytime soon. Such my level of anger at such a half-arsed showing on a huge night for the club. I didn’t expect a win, but I expected us to make it uncomfortable for them & get in their faces and get the crowd up. We didn’t. This is my longest time away from attending games since I was at uni. A young family means there is more competition for my time. And what rational person would give up 4 hours of their Saturday, spending upwards of £30 in the process where the only guarantees at the moment are incredibly, not that I’ll at least be able to take a pee, but that I’ll come back even more angry & frustrated?? 😩 You literally could not make it up.
  17. So, where do we go from here, seriously?? It’s got to the point where this type of result isn’t even a surprise anymore, it’s expected. Vale take a big following away and / or the oppo’s have been on a terrible run = guaranteed defeat Vale play a team at home that brings a big following = guaranteed defeat. It been going on for years, but this season…… wow. I gave praise to Flickers that he’d got us Gore and Williams but, guess what, both are injured before they’ve even really contributed. Vale sign injury-prone players, who knew? In any event whilst it is a coup in getting loans from Liverpool & Utd, one wonders whether they’ll be quite to helpful when we’re ploughing away in L2 again next year. I think I know the answer. Because that’s now where we are heading. I can accept (although I absolutely hate it) us having 3-5-2 as plan A, but not having the players to actually play effectively in this very specific and specialised system is utterly ridiculous, and to have not addressed a very serious shortfall in TWO key areas (strikers and left WB) in not one, even two but three windows is to my mind outrageous. That’s on Flitcroft. But to NEVER deviate from 3-5-2 when it clearly isn’t working but then listening to AC say “we changed our shape to combat it” when clearly we don’t drives me nuts (and don’t even get me started on the constant playing Smith at RCB). And that’s on Crosby. So we need a change. We ain’t going to get it because for some reason Flitcroft seems to have sewn himself into the fabric and Crosby is evidently “his man”.
  18. Just watched the lowlights. Just watched Crosby’s interview. We’re f****d. Can’t wait for Crawley away next year. Said nobody ever 😭😭
  19. Where’s @Packmoor_vale when you need him to put a positive spin on things??? And that’s not a criticism btw, because I’m desperately searching for something to take out of this 🤬
  20. In 15 years time when we’ve won our 3rd Premier League title on the spin, 6th FA Cup, the Champions League and beaten Man Utd for the 15th time, we’ll be laughing at this day wondering why we ever doubted Flickers and Crosby…..🤔
  21. I’d like to say this was a surprise result that none of us saw coming, but…
  22. From a Fleetwood perspective, they literally could not have handpicked better opponents today. Stuck in a rut? Not won in a while?? Bottom of the league and don’t know where your next points are coming from?? Well fear now, Port Vale are up next! Port Vale….helping you end your barren streak.
  23. Right up to the point he said Povey’s oatcakes. Got to be High Lane 🤔
