Massive mate this week is! Can see Carlisle nicking a point at Cheltenham Tuesday. There’s a lot of pressure on them to get the win & with Taylor now out injured I think they’ll flap. 0-0

Not sure. We’ve seen numerous times that when relegation is sealed then the pressure lifts and teams start putting some results together. But DC will know the importance of this game to them, and I wouldn’t surprised if they edged it 1-0. That’s why I was slightly disappointed we couldn’t nick the win yesterday.

If DM keeps The Vale Up , he shud be knighted especially considering the set of players he's having to get a tune out of 🤨

He might not be the most eloquent in interviews but it was evident from what he’s just said that he knows how to set a side up to be hard to beat. I still think he’ll be good for us, beyond this season.

  3. Ordinarily a point & clean sheet wouldn’t be sniffed it….but I think this was a real missed opportunity to get two extra points personally. Then a win vs either Exeter or Wycombe would I think left us going into the Cambridge game knowing a win would keep us up. Of course if we get something at Posh or Bolton (both feel unlikely) then it changes it.

BBC Radio Stoke saying the formation could be:

Ripley - Sang, Smith, Iacovitti - Plant, Garrity, Ojo, Chislett, Shorrock - Massey, Loft

I think this again shows the inbalance of the squad and the poor recruitment in that Sang and Massey are both playing out of position in that formation.

    Good grief 🫣

  5. On a family holiday in (wet & cold) Cornwall so missed yesterday.

very welcome result yesterday. But it’s tough to understand what the real situation is at the moment.

I’m sceptical that DF going is the motivator for this ‘turnaround’, it’s not like he was on the training pitch with them was it? Also whilst, you could say we’ve beaten two poor sides (Brizzle by all accounts were worse than last year), Burton pulled off a result at Wigan yesterday.

Has Moore found a formula that works for us that the players have bought into??

In any event, I still think we’ll be in L2 again next year. I think we’ll be left cursing that chaotic last 5 minutes of Fleetwood and throwing two points away.

But at least (now, frustratingly) we are showing a bit of fight and hopefully it’s something to buy into next year.

Watching today I think we can do it. He played well. The issue is finishing and hopefully that goal gives him the confidence to score. We did well today, far better than them. I’ve put my money on us staying up (I’m usually wrong but I think we can do it) like you say his role is about bringing others into the game and for me the likes of garrity and chissy have had an easy ride and need to turn up.  They’re very good players and need to show it much more than they are Chislett especially. I think we will stay up.

I think this was our ‘Walsall moment’ personally, there’s some winnable games for sure, but we’ve got to go on a real unexpected run of results (based on long term form) to turn it round and I think we’ll still fall short. I had us not winning another game this season so bad as last week so at least that’s something!

    Loft will keep us up

He will be very important to us IF work out how to play to his strengths, which by the sounds of it, may have been the case today. He might not score another goal this season, but if he gets us up the pitch and makes space/chances for Wilson, Chizzy & Garrity then great.
