Given that very few teams bounce back straight away and with all our under contract players...Next season for me is a write off. Following season build then 2026/27 promotion....be great if that's not the case in a positive way however manager ownership matters could equally prolong that...

Does Uche have an extension option in his contract?
Could be...
Port Vale Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of Striker, Uche Ikpeazu.
The 6ft 3in striker has put pen to paper on a deal that will see him remain at Vale Park until at least the summer of 2024
Why say "at least"?...still think he will be gone

If I lived local I would buy. They arent a bad price but very dependent on income v expenditure. I would give people renewing 10% discount as a reward. That might be everyone but repays loyalty. Key to it is trying to keep people on board.

Ownership is the issue..DM is not an inept manager with loads of failures on his CV. Done well at different clubs and majority wanted him. You just can't be a magician with crap
I don't find him a MA or DC person but some hated that style. I just want vale to win. Quite/loud/young/old...it's all a gamble...give DM a chance otherwise we will be another 2 years down the road

V2001, NS, Carol...all the same..big ideas...no nous to deliver...
I think stats wise AC was the 6th most winning manager in vale history, MA 4th, DC 3rd and RP 9th JA 10th...
Sir JR now 11th..
Maybe sad indictment of the modern game that 5 of vales top ten managers have all been sacked in last 15 years..DM doesn't inspire me but I'm not a player...winning football inspires me but it isn't just a manager who makes that happen

How can League One have less games than League Two when both have the same amount of teams? Odd one!
the statement mentions ifollow ceasing domestic streaming which makes me wonder if the international streaming will remain?
Domestic Streaming
From the 2024/25 season onward, this agreement makes more matches available to stream and will effectively replace the current Sky Sports EFL red button coverage and the EFL’s domestic streaming option provided via iFollow and club streaming services. Domestic streaming audio services will remain alongside existing audio-visual arrangements for international audiences via iFollow and club streaming services.Last bit says international arrangements remain

If it's in there, did we not make money from the young players we sold? Although they may fall in 23-24 financial year?

England MU17s squad named for EURO qualifiers at St. George's Park in March 2024
WWW.ENGLANDFOOTBALL.COMThere's also a Stoke player in tge squad.
Congratulations to the young man. The last player I remember playing age group football for England was Mark Chamberlain.
It's a bright spark in a disappointing season. Longterm I think it is the way to a sustainable future and the progress at academy level is possibly more significant than a relegation. The club has endured numerous relegations and enjoyed many promotions in the last 50 years. We've not consistently produced league standard players since Sproson, Bromage and the Chamberlain brothers made their way into the first team; almost 50 years ago.
That squad is so Premiership laden he will be gone soon..how has he slipped under the radar and not been bought? Good luck to the lad but all these youngsters we sell or have to sell just kills the " he is one of own"..

Well done Baylee….I’ve probably been walking my dogs on Blythe rec a few years ago whilst he was playing with the proverbial jumpers for goalposts.
May this be another stepping stone to him developing into a terrific number 9 for Vale for many years to come.He will be flogged as soon as anyone comes sniffing...Trust the process..

I would guess that Chis, Ripley, Ojo, Gerrity and Clark could all be sold or may even have release clauses in case of relegation. Can't see any of them wanting to play in div 4

Wondering if the league 2 striker could have been Charlie Austin? The bit about fancying their chances in the championship make me doubt it though.
Surely it was al hamadi who went Ipswich?

Think it would be about knowing the foreign markets and those kicking around after contracts have expired...Joe Mason looks available but in what shape he is ??

Martin Foyle just been on radio and said he cannot understand why Flitcroft didn't take charge of the team on Tuesday. He said it shouldn't have been left to the academy guys. Radio Stoke have asked for a statement from Flitcroft but none forthcoming. Still trapped in his bunker i suspect.
Not that relevant but genuine question did John Rudge ever manage Sjoke when they sacked someone? I can't remember he did as sure I would have remembered such a mortifying act. Anyone remember?

I sometimes believe that with clubs taking players on loan, who then have to go back, the club loses some of its identity and independence. However that’s the modern game and I have to accept it.
Or people lose interest? The transfer window and loss of the ability for short term loans in lower leagues means clubs have to have a squad they can't afford unless they have loans. Great as they are you can't "fall in love" with them.. ,names on shirt etc...which kids love..I love...Premier league clubs don't need u21 teams in the EFL...they are doing it by stealth. EFL is just a feeder league nowadays. As you say modern game but accept it? It gets harder

lincoln 21/22 first team salaries were over £6 million. Doesn't support the budgets listed either way but where we are on the list is probably about right. Even if out by a few hundred thousand we are going to be bottom 10 in budgets.

My concern is about what happens when we lose Ollie and Alex, whether that's in January or the end of the season. Players like those don't come along very often and Vale couldn't hope to sign anyone of such undoubted class. Given our previous efforts to sign a striker I don't think they'll be replaced with anyone half as good.
At least Ethan Chislett is our player, for however long until Vale decide to cash in - he's surely alerting a lot of clubs.
Surely that's what the club are trying to do..impress other clubs to loan us decent players..we give them experience...bring along our own and in theory..win win?....the hard part is getting quality loanees. The club seem clear that is the philosophy going forward and it is the way of EFL clubs nowadays...longstaff, azizz both examples
