Does anyone still think this is all Crosby’s fault?

Then he should have had the Bulls to stand up and speak out. It was his team, he is the manager, pick the team and play your way. Tell us what you really asked for and why you were let down.

Keeping quiet has done him no good at all has it.

    An absolute abomination.

Why on earth was that clown rushing to take a free kick in the first minute. Disgraceful.

And well Jones yes I'm not a fan. He was up there with Scott Tanser and Ray Deakin. Is he colour blind ? An outrageous performance.

Debrah another liability who seems incapable of being able to control a football.

Chislett and Garrity are the only sparks in that team.

    Truly abysmal.

We have the worst back three in div 1

I agree that Ripley sees far too much of the ball passed back to him and there is a mistake waiting to happen but why pass back to him time and time again, Debrah being the worst. Can only be it shows how poor footballers they all are.

Garrity the one positive today. Just wish others had his heart for PVFC. I thought Chislett was not as good today and i cannot see the benefit of him playing wide because he will never be a winger. Far better running through the middle behind a one or two man strike force. Oh wait we have no one up front...

There are NO GOALS anywhere in this squad

I feel sorry for Ben Garrity. He was the only player again to show anything at all. He surely cannot stay here when we get relegated. He deserves so much better than to be in the same team as Smith, Jones and Wilson. I would not have any of them in a Sunday morning team. Total waste of 3 shirts. Today should have been the start of a revival. I felt the crowd and atmosphere were great before the kick off. Once Smith had impersonated being a footballer after 1 minute he killed the game and atmosphere completely. Utter shambles. Do those players honestly want to fight for Vale? In my opinion NO.

    Terrific post.

The one and only player with and heart and fight for PVFC

Moore CANNOT play Lowe and Ojo together again in the middle. They are so pedestrian its laughable. No pace whatsoever in the team today.

Goals !! What are they. Will we ever see one again. Shocking.

Oh and who is to blame - FLITCROFT OUT

If Carol was correct to get rid of Crosby then Flitcroft HAS TO GO TOO.

When Clarke came in (along with Flitcroft at the same time) didn't he point out that the squad of players that he inherited were one dimensional and only set up for 433 under Askey?

Three years on, history seems to have repeated itself under Flitcroft's watch. One dimensional:352.

IMO we were better last night playing 4231 but no full back in the squad means (until Mitch is back) square pegs in round holes. Jones was ok but always injured. Grant was awful (again) and Sang was full of mistakes. Out of his depth.

We also play with 6 at the back and three in midfield. All very narrow in the center which gives us no width and no creativity. As for goals, we havent had goals for two seasons now.

Positives 4 at the back untill Jones left we look better -Mighty looks a handful - Loft worked hard missed a sitter but he’s deffo playing for the shirt -sang decent game .

Negatives- Toothless in front of goal - no luck undone by a wonder goal -Connor Grant -lack of left back options

Yes it was better but really ! The quality on offer from Sang, Loft and even Mighton, it was poor.

Then we had Lowe Grant Massey, very poor. Even Chisslett and Ojo didnt have great games

I liked the back four, i liked the concept and it worked for the long period.

Off went Jones, on come Grant and then the floodgates opened down the right.

I feared Lowe would struggle with the pace and athleticism of their midfield, once Savage came on he was always going to struggle with the second balls.

I can't really blame Darren Moore for tonight, he just simply hasn't got enough depth and flexibility in that squad and that is not his fault.

Can we get a left back and a striker in before saturday?

Back four yes, Sang and Jones absolutely not. Dont start me on Grant. An embarrasement of a player.

Still remember the comments early season about what a player we have signed.

D.M. has gone for experience in the main but thats all we have. Same again saturday i believe with one extra session on grass Thursday a.m. for 90 mins to gel

With this lot of players.  Jones - injured (no doubt 2 weeks - which then turns into 2 months).

Grant came on and couldn't defend for toffee.

The teams around us have bought players in and doing better than us.

If we keep to 4 at the back formation - then yes we have a chance.

Thats why Plant shoud have been in the squad. Yes mistakes in him but he will put the effort in and try to defend. Grant the worst signing for a long time

Carol, I never, ever thought I'd find myself saying this but if you don't start to see David Flitcroft for what he is, Port Vale could well die on your watch.

That could end up being your legacy.

The team that got us up was a much better side than this.

We've played two seasons at league one level with a side much inferior to our league Two team.

Have we even taken it <ovf censored> seriously since we got promoted?

Ripley, Ojo, Devine and Arblaster are the only players we've signed that would've gotten a shirt in that squad since we came up.

And two of those only played 6 months, not being our players.

That is David Flitcrofts fault.  He is the director of football.  He puts the squad together.

I don't blame most of the players.  It's ability and numbers (lack of both) that have us where we are now.

I cannot believe the optimism I had for the Vale when you took over.  The joy brought by the promotion (the 4th in the 35 years I've been following the Vale.

The wave that created and have we ridden that wave?  Have we capitalised one bit on that?  Christ no!!!

Instead you've allowed that absolute pillock to turn us in to a soulless training ground for top tier loan signings.

Brilliant, thats Port Vale to you is it?

I honestly believe that you do not give one stuff about actual supporters.  Your actions are saying just that in not just keeping faith with that utter madman, but actually lording him up to the supporters.  Telling us off for daring to become disillusioned at his apparent long termism.

Long term?  Jesus!!!  We're back to whence we came next season.  Its absolute failure and the most infuriating part is that it was so, so avoidable.

    I feel absolutely pig sick.

Pig sick me too. Thanks Carol for agreeing with him and letting it roll on and on.

Just to remind you of Flitcroft and the recruitment team. This is what they have given us :

Loft, Sang, Uche, Grant, Lowe, Iacovitti, Debrah, Wilson

loans : Thomas, Gore, Williams, Weir, Mighten, Williams

young lads : McDermott, Shorrock, Walters, Dipepa, Lomax, even Plant. Sorry all too soon for the amount they have played this season. Filling the squad but not good enough yet. Hopefully they will be one day !!

Generally we looked better with our formation tonight but offensively we look poor with very little quality when it matters but what really irks me is our defending as a team.

We concede yet again after winning 1st contact in the box. To be fair Wing is a fantastic 1 in 50 strike and you could argue Massey could have thrown himself at it but the 2nd one has summed us up.

Under a bit of pressure and we fold like a deck of cards. Block the bit then every <ovf censored> player in our box stands and watches. It’s the same every single game we have played.

Weak minded players, majority aren’t good enough for L2 and don’t even get me started on Grant.

    Spot on

I don’t know why people are expecting him to be some sort of saviour. He has no goals or assists. He was also playing as wing back, where he can’t defend (not his fault as he’s not a wing back).

    Worse than Grant ?

At least Plant puts effort in to defend

4-2-3-1 Happy with that nice to see Garrity back on the bench, did I dream it or did AC say that Plant was back training on the grass in one of his last interviews? If so he should be close. I don't know how well they will take to it with not having long to implement a formation change but I hope he persists with it because going forwards I think it will get us more points than sticking with a wing back system that hasn't worked all season.

Plant ready and fully fit for Cheltenham.

Not picked, not even for the bench

Flitcroft has assembled this group of players.

Flitcroft  has assembled a completely unbalanced squad that offers no threat to the opposition.

Flitcroft has set up one way of playing which doesn't work with the players we have.

Flitcroft has in 4 transfer windows failed to bring in any strikers capable of scoring the goals required for the club to progress.

Flitcroft cannot be trusted to deliver the process.

    Flitcoft MUST GO NOW.

    100% FLITCROFT MUST GO NOW

How is it post of the day , just because you agree with it.  I am getting tired of the injury situation and that being our excuse for being rubbish since September and outside the drop zone because of Reading's point deduction.  We like many other teams in our league and throughout football are dealing with injuries because football is different than years ago, more games, less recovery time, players not playing through the pain barrier, scientists telling managers when and when they can't play and many more issues.  This is why it was criminal to go into a season with one recognised LWB in grant who missed virtually the whole of last season.   After the window shut, we had a forward line of Wilson who we know from the past has never been able to stay fit regular, 5th choice striker from Bristol Rovers and Thomas who had never kicked a ball in the football league, we then a month later sign a player who has not played for 6 months who took 3 months to get anywhere near fit.  We choose to give Jones a 2 year deal who we know has spent more time injured than fit.

I keep hearing all these injuries but the nucleus of that team Ripley, Smith, Ojo, Arblaster, Devine Ojo, Garrity, Chislett were all fit for that awful run from September to December, they may have missed the odd game but other than Clarke I fail to see who we have missed as Wilson despite being quality, we should have been expecting him to miss and plans should have been in place for this.

I just fail to see how without 2 forwards one of which needs to know where the back of the net is how we are going to go on a run that will see us comfortable in mid-table, the defence is leaking goals and can't keep clean sheets and we need 2 or 3 goals to get a result.

THIS IS POST OF THE DAY

It won't be a lot of money for Uche. If we were demanding silly money, Charlton could just wait 6 months and get him for nothing in July.

Getting him off the wage bill after 2-3 good games (with no long-term value) and 10 average-poor ones, and replacing him with a player with as much upside as Young on a 2.5 year deal is fundamentally sensible business, especially as we're not going to be challenging at either end of the table in the next 6 months.

As with any lower league signing, you can't guarantee its success, but Young can clearly produce in the right system and won't be fully developed as a striker yet. For his Barrow loan, he never played a full 90 and only started 5 games - mostly on the left wing. Swindon have showed what a consistent run up front can do.

    Sensible post.

Some say upto £250k..  Dream on

Conlon and Cass not in squad for last few weeks

Smith and Uche not in first 11 recently

Wouldnt be surprised if any / all the above are not with us by end Jan

    ?? What about Crosby ?

Probably because you know that this squad is capable of so much more but for whatever reason are not performing consistently to the standard they are capable of.

Sorry Rodge. Have to question that this squad is capable of so much more. Todays team :

Ripley - Good but please learn to concentrate more. Should he be beaten like the third goal today ?

Back three - Poor. Debra ok. Lowe too slow and not strong enough. Iacovitti So poor as a defender. Needs to be told its panto season " Hes behind you " To be fair he left the ball because his man was never going to get it. Grant left his man alone and never chased back. Second goal also poor marking from Iacovitti Very poor

Midfield four - Massey and Grant poor. Stand out wide and offer no movement when ball behind and needs to be played forward. No goals whatsoever in them.  Walters poor. Didnt know he was on today. What has happened to his early season performances, he at least showed effort and fight. He is slow and not the most skillful to me. Certainly not a ' real gem ' of a prospect. Does he want to go elsewhere ? Leaves just Garrity. Terrific performances this season. Play anywhere and gives his all. Unfortunately playing in this position, leaves this whole midfield four offering almost no goals.

Two attacking midfield - Devine, certainly his class shows. Passing very good, pace, looks to score goals. Chislett, now playing with more effort and fight in midfield and still offers goals from his forward runs.

Striker - Cannot call Loft a striker. Very poor, offers nothing.

Todays team is our squad and it was so weak looking even before kick off.

Smith to compete in the back three and should improve us but he doesnt seem to want it himself. Played out of position too much and may be sulking i dont know but he needs to show he wants a shirt. Even with Smith its not the best back three.

Massively miss Ojo and Arblaster in the center. Sang and Clarke would strengthen us out wide. Still not sure how good that makes us.

Devine Chislett then add Garrity and we look lots better.

Loft Uche Thomas. No thanks to any of them. Oh for Wilson being fit for three months. How we need this.

Desperate to strengthen this squad. Back to money !!

If you could guarantee 30 games a season he's worth keeping.  History says he managed that twice in his career. I'd probably gamble until the end of the season but at some point we have to move on. I think we'll offer him something,  maybe get 10 more games out of him and then let him go in the summer.

At this point in this season, i would keep Wilson and hope and pray we get 8 games out of him.

Those 8 games will get us more points than the 16 games with Loft, Uche or anyone else currently at the club as striker
