I don’t rate him, was very underwhelmed when we signed him and got criticised for questioning a 5.5 year contract. Saying that, I agree, he needs to be given a chance next season, not sure 2 transfer windows, he should be given all the support he can be given but if not in the top half come Christmas he should go- get someone else in and give them some money in January.

Don’t forget the Stoke replay. We would never have seen the stuck in mud effort from Stoke had it not been for replays.

I think it also has to be mentioned bar West Brom how badly the clubs have performed after he has left, which doesn’t mean he has left them in a great position. West Brom got promoter the following season finishing 2nd Doncaster finished 14th the season he left and got relegated the season after Sheffield Wednesday have struggled all season and may go down Huddersfield have picked up since he has gone but may well go down. Could be argued that it’s because they miss him or because he has damaged them but all of the clubs have had significant seasons straight away after his departure.

He went to West Brom in the Premiership struggling in the relegation zone who had quite a low budget for the division and failed to keep them up. Next season they had one of the biggest budgets in the Championship and was sacked with them in 4th place after a bad run. He then went to Doncaster Rovers who had a bigger than average budget for Division 1 and got them to 9th place in their first season and left for Wednesday in his second season when pushing for promotion/ play offs Wednesday were in the relegation zone when he went there, similar position to the Vale when he came to us, he failed to keep them up. Next season, he took them to the play offs and ended up getting promotion, but it has to be mentioned they had by far the biggest budget in division 1 that season. I don’t know why he left Wednesday, some reports says he was sacked, some that he left. Then he went to Huddersfield who have one of the lower budgets in the Championship and had a disastrous season been sacked with them well in the relegation zone. I wouldn’t say he’s been hugely successful every where he has been with his only noticeable success was getting Wednesday promoted. But, I think it’s fair to say he has done a lot better with clubs with larger than average budgets and not so with clubs like ourselves with lower budgets. I also think by looking at his track record that he was the wrong appointment if we were looking to avoid relegation this season. Lets hope with some money behind him next season, himself and our recruitment team can rebuild and he does a Sheffield Wednesday with us.

They have gone from winning 3 games in well over half a season to winning 6 since he has left in a much shorter time span. Not sure how you can say over time he improves squads, he’s never lasted anywhere for 2 seasons.

What success did he have at West Brom? Or Doncaster?

I thought he was being quite positive.

We are playing a lot more direct than under Crosby. Problem is Loft cannot hold the ball up and Uche is far too slow, not getting any joy from the long balls.

Ok, as I said, just shows how incompetent he is, or just saw the pounds and had no other options. I really do hope we have a get out clause if we got relegated else it is going to have been a very expensive exercise.

If that’s true, which I doubt very much it is then it shows how incompetent Moore is by taking a 5 year job based on sending a mate to a match.

Just hope Carol doesn’t lose interest. Can’t see any big money spenders wanting to buy the club, certainly not to invest their own money in to the club and get the club to thrive. Carol has some big decisions to make, bring in the right personal, invest a higher percentage in to the playing side and we can turn things around again. Our biggest problem has left the club, get a decent recruitment team in and things can become better very quickly, look how many players we brought in on our promotion year, it can be done.

Can’t pin that on the manager though, Clarke had the same issue the season before. That lies with our recruitment team. If you can’t land any players, make sure you don’t release any then, letting Conlon go was stupid, although not a first teamer and most likely to be released, he would have played a major part for us in the last 4 months after Devine and Arblaster left, instead we relied on 2 more youth loan signings, one who played 1 game, never to be seen again, and the other who is no way near ready and has paid a major part in us losing points in the last 2 games. Flitcroft has now gone but we have to be looking to make major changes to our recruitment team as they are continuously underdelivering.

Losing Garrity for the period at the end was a massive blow, him and Chislett have been our biggest goal threats all season

I’d be happy if Moore went but on an equal foot I think he should be given a chance. He has inherited a crap squad void of any confidence. If we aren’t in the top half of the division next season by Christmas then Carol should get her hand in her pocket again, sack him and construct a proper recruitment process.

Crosby was far from being a quality manager but I’m with you. Another 5 points this season and we will have stayed up, I think we would have got the 5 points needed had Crosby stayed. It took Moore about 5 games to work out which players to play and even then he has made some awful decisions without inspiring the squad. I think in those first 5 games Moore has been in charge we would have picked up the 5 points needed.
