  1. It's getting really depressing now. We can't even grind out draws. We're getting well beaten every single game & the matches are coming thick & fast. February was always going to be make or break & unfortunately, we're broken. Plan for League 2 now, there's not a chance this lot stop up. Poor at the back, non existent up top, lack of anything on the bench. Even Garrity won't save us. That 3 nil v Blackpool will be our last win of the season. We look absolutely shot. All that hard work, all that emotion & passion to get ourselves promoted. All down the toilet. It reeks. Only tiny bit of light right now is that I'd like to think Darren Moore would have us hard to beat in League 2. Is anyone else concerned that they've not announced his backroom team yet... seems to be dragging out massively. Could the whole thing collapse? We're the one club I wouldn't put that past.
  2. Lost count of the amount of games we've lost by a single goal this season. Can see us falling the wrong side of a tight game again tonight. We simply don't have enough characters. Hoping I'm wrong but 2-1 Reading. Late consolation goal from Wils.
  3. Hypothetically question, last game of the season. Vale, or another team facing the drop. A group of ppl decide to go to the Reading game for the sole purpose of invading the pitch to activate Reading's points deduction & secure survival for their own team. I'm not saying this would happen, but stranger things have gone on in football. How does the EFL work that one out?
  4. I'd go 442 & try to become more difficult to break down. Need to fix one thing at a time & get points ticking over. Ripley Debrah RB Lowe CB Smith CB Jones/Yak if Jones is crocked LB Massey RW Sang/Garrity if fit CM Ojo CM Mighten LW Chislett in the hole roaming behind Wilson CF Can't see us getting anything at Reading but some absolutely huge home games coming up that are now pretty much in the must win category. Lincoln, Fleetwood & Shrews.
  5. Just watched the goals back. That 3rd goal is unspeakably bad. Keeper punts it, we lose a header, don't track a runner, goal. Absolute dog <ovf censored>.
  6. Allowing Cheltenham to do the double over us is unforgiveable. We have actually been leading on 3 x seperate occasions against them this season, yet not picked up a single point. So predictable today. So Vale. Too many players simply do not care I'm afraid. We look like relegation certainties. DM has had an absolute mare with his subs as well when we went 2-1 up. Dipepa is absolutely nowhere near this level, it's insane that the young lad keeps getting thrown on. What a total disaster of a day. Only Vale. Ruined my weekend again.
  7. We're an absolute banter club aren't we. Winning twice & letting it slip, then losing. It's so predictable. DM has a massive job on to keep us up. DC will keep these without a doubt.
  8. Textbook Vale. First half injury time & it had to be him didn't it.
  9. To be fair, he isn't going to come out & slam the squad re lack of quality after 2 x training sessions & ahead of his first match in charge is he. Only a fool would do that. He needs them onside, everyone working together to achieve safety.
  10. Roe Lane, Clayton. Newcastle Towns training complex.
  11. Part of the explanation which I didn't divulge, was that Carol will allegedly be worth more than RW. We're talking in the hundreds of millions.
  12. I've been debating with myself whether to post the following or not. It will most probably get laughed off & ridiculed, based on me not being willing to name the source of the information. But I've decided to post it, based on the fact that I'm more confident it could be true with us getting Darren Moore on a 5 x year deal. It correlates with the information I was told a few weeks ago. For clarity, I've been told 2nd hand by somebody who isn't a Vale fan & has absolutely no reason to make this up. This person was told in relative detail by somebody I'd class as a very strong source of information re Vale. Long & short without going into super length of detail, Carol is closing in on some kind of game changing deal from a financial perspective. Apparently the family are on the verge of a huge windfall & Carol plans to spend money & leave a big legacy at the Vale & in Burslem as a whole. When I say huge windfall, we're talking multi millions putting Carol & the family in a different stratosphere to the one they are currently in. Apparently, this should all come about in the next 12 months, at the latest. Only time will tell, but I thought I'd share. This is a forum after all & it's something I'm interested to find out if anybody else has heard anything about? Could it be that we're on the verge of something special. Could explain why Carol is so keen to keep hold of the ownership & answer some of the questions re external investment. One to discuss...
  13. This is going to be a really tough game. No surprise DC has got them ticking & full of confidence. We all knew what a great appointment it was for them at the time. Seen the aftermatch video last night as well. He's really got the home crowd going, in the palm of his hand much like we were. We're really going to have to show up to get anything out of the game. & it's a huge game.
  14. Probably because he's good pals with Brown from their time together at Spurs. Can't imagine Brown is privately very complimentary about his time at the Vale, based on the fact it wrecked any career he was hoping to have in management. & smurf was in charge at the time remember, giving the players the left over pies. We're a different club now. Shame Tim isn't up to date. He did touch us, without the required barge pole, & seems very pleased to be here. Good appointment. Darren Moores black & white army.
  15. A brilliant appointment for us. Well done Vale. & just like that, the buzz is back.
  16. I shared it before & I'll share it again. This was the Lincoln chairman's reasons for sacking Kennedy... "Kennedy, 47, became the first Lincoln manager in almost nine years to be dismissed rather than leave by mutual consent or move to another club. In an interview with BBC Radio Lincolnshire, Scully added that style of play and development of talent under Kennedy were reasons for parting ways on Wednesday."
  17. I've got a bad feeling Kennedy will get announced on Wednesday. If it was Moore, I'd have expected him to be announced ahead of the Peterborough game, based on what happened in the playoffs with Sheff Weds. Would have potentially given us a psychological advantage.
  18. Lewis Cass scored for Stockport today on his full debut. Would you believe it.
  19. "Kennedy, 47, became the first Lincoln manager in almost nine years to be dismissed rather than leave by mutual consent or move to another club. In an interview with BBC Radio Lincolnshire, Scully added that style of play and development of talent under Kennedy were reasons for parting ways on Wednesday." Sounds exactly what we should be looking for ☠️
  20. Rumours beginning to circulate online re Kennedy. God I hope not. Would be such an uninspiring appointment. You might as well have kept Crosby & hoped for the best.
  21. Why is everyone losing their heads over Kennedy. He was spotted in the scouting seats ffs. Will he apply for the job, yes probably, along with lots of others. Does it mean the job is his, no it doesn't. He was probably just doing due diligence before he applies for the role. Something that most ppl do before applying for a new job.
  22. I'm not saying it to console myself. Nobody wants relegation & it would be a massive hit like you say, but do I think we'd be scraping around fighting for survival in League 2 like last time... no. I think we'd rebuild & bounce back faster than we did last time we dropped. I'm not saying relegation is okay, it's really not. But if we do drop I think we're better placed as a club to be okay in League 2. I certainly don't envisage us dropping out of the Football League like we almost did on multiple occasions last time. I'm just trying to look at things longer term. At the moment whether we like it or not, we're a top half League 2/bottom half league 1 club. It's no massive surprise that we find ourselves in exactly that kind of position. Next managerial appointment is massive.
  23. Carol, that is a superb letter. Ultimately herself & Kevin own the club & they deserve our respect. As owner of the club she had every right to entrust Flitcroft with the job she bought him in to do. We are unrecognisable from when he first came to the club, nobody can deny that. The message is loud & clear. He's here to stay, Carol's here to stay. There will be ups & downs (potentially even a relegation along the way) but ultimately we are working to improve the club over the long term. The letter rubber stamps this. Whether you agree with her or not, you have to respect her opinion & she's right about the potential protests. Very subtly hinting that potential managers will be looking at that before they make a decision to join us. DF is no Norman. He may have appalling interpersonal skills & he might come across like a used car salesman at times with the language he spouts, but ultimately he will be doing his best for this club. Even when that's not good enough (Jan transfer window). I hope we can come together as a fan base. We might go down. Does anybody want that to happen, absolutely not. Would we be in a much stronger position to bounce back, yes absolutely. The journey continues. Ultimately you either come along for the ride or you don't.
