  1. I take your point re Uche's goals ratio, it was more around the new game plan Crosby was trying implement at the time. Getting it to Uche & winning 2nd balls off him higher up the pitch. That alongside Garrity being out injured killed things for Crosby. I stick to my guns & I do think we'd have more points on the board had he stayed. I'm not saying that's something that should be celebrated, but we'd have stayed up IMO. It can obviously never be proven & ppl will have differing opinions, but it's hard to imagine anybody picking up less points than Moore has done. He's far too placid & this isn't a squad that can fire itself up, we've seen that so many times.
  2. The Uche injury was an absolute killer for Crosby. Fleetwood sealed his fate, but I do think he'd have ground out enough points to keep us up. Just my opinion.
  3. Agreed it is ifs & buts. Hard to imagine anybody doing any worse than Moore has though. You could've put me in charge & I reckon I'd have motivated us to a more points than he's achieved. Maybe he will prove me wrong next season with his own players, but he's nowhere near it for me. He's not a Vale manager.
  4. The very fact Ojo's toys would've still been firmly in the pram would've probably been enough for 1 or 2 x more wins. The squad is appalling, but Moore has been shocking since he came in. There's no doubt about that.
  5. We'll never know, but I suspect Crosby would've ensured we won more than a single point from Fleetwood, Shrews, Exeter & Wycombe at home.
  6. Correct. Next person in line is Carol. The lighting of the torches has already begun.
  7. I'm going to put it out there... would Crosby have kept us up? I think he probably would have. Things were far from great under him, but there's no way we lose 10 from 15 games with him in charge. We'd have scraped enough points to stop up based on the fact we still find ourselves only 3 points adrift. The fact we're not mathmatically relegated yet is astonishing. The bottom of this league is absolute garbage. Our home form in particular is beyond a joke. I really worry about next season. We're a soft touch & we all know what League 2 is all about. We will be bullied week in week out.
  8. Absolutely astounding that both Garrity & Chislett have managed to net double figures in this side. Both will be gone in summer.
  9. Funny this... because the paper note Walters brought onto the pitch with him with tactical instructions got read & then disgarded on the pitch... & Jack Grimmer (Wycombe RB) has picked it up & put it down his sock. 😂 We are an absolute shambles.
  10. Have loved having Ben at the club. He will probably go down as my favourite ever player from this era we're about to exit. Gives his absolute best every single game even when he's not "on it". One of our best signings of the past decade, he will be very much missed. Plays like he supports the club, like he's been a fan all his life. Effort, commitment, strength, goals, passion. If we'd had 11 players who cared as much as him all season, we'd have been safe weeks ago. The bloke deserves to be playing at this level & I hope for him, that he gets a really decent move. We will be a much poorer side without him.
  11. At 38 years old I've now come to accept that my entire footballing life will consist of seeing us flitter between the basement division & League 1. There will be good times every now & again, but the bad times will far outweigh the moments we remember for the right reasons. That day at Wembley feels like a very long time ago now. It was a different club just 2 years ago. We're down. I accepted it weeks ago. Shrews was the final nail. Low & behold, had we beat them we'd now be level on points & things would've looked a lot more rosy. Alas, it wasn't to be. We've been garbage off the pitch & we've been garbage on the pitch. We fully deserve relegation, which actually makes it slightly easier for me to bare. I'll still be there next season. Not sure I'll have a season ticket, as there have genuinely been times this year where I've come away from games feeling mentally exhausted by it all. Today was another one. I'll pick & choose I think from now on. See you on Tuesday.
  12. We will go down & we deserve to go down. We're terrible & have been for most of the season.
  13. I think the final nail will prove to be the Fleetwood & Shrews home games. 1 point from both games will ultimately come back & kill us. I know there's games left & we're still in with a shot, I just cannot see us getting out of it & I'll be genuinely amazed if we do. Cheltenham will pick up more points than us.
  14. Correct. They were huge games that we came out on the wrong side of. We deserve to be relegated.
  15. Great to watch today. Everybody played their part but big shout outs to Sang, Loft & Garrity. All 3 outstanding. Still think we will come to rue the Fleetwood & Shrews home games, but it's given us a shot.
  16. 2 weeks ago he wouldn't have even attempted that run for the goal. You could tell as soon as he came on the kid looked about 2 foot taller. Incredible what a bit of confidence & backing can do, especially for a young player. Great goal & a very decent performance.
  17. I'd understand Foyle, but Leon Legge... come off it 😂 Absolutely no chance we should be even having that conversation.
  18. You could tell in the interview he did a few weeks back that he'd had to be persuaded to continue. He's clearly thought enough is enough & made the decision for her. You can't go from releasing that open letter like she did, to sacking the bloke in the space of a few weeks. He wanted out based on the fanbase hating his guts. He's called time & Carol's had to accept it. We'll never know the truth, but that would be my view on proceedings.
  19. I'm not entirely sure she has. I reckon he's been wanting to call it a day for about a month now but she's backed him & asked him to stay on & see it through. He's finally made the decision for her & they've agreed to call it "mutual". Either way he's gone. Let's see what happens next.
  20. Nobody is denying that. Just find it amazing that Baylee getting called up & scoring for England turns into a Flitcroft/current regime bashing opportunity. He was clearly looked after in the early days & he has clearly been looked after in the past few years as well, simple as that. Our Academy was rated something like 91 out of the 92 EFL & Prem clubs when Sevvy was in charge... talk to me about that.
  21. It does, as well as the current coaching staff. 2 goals on his debut, well done Baylee.
  22. So who has been coaching & developing him for the past 3 years? Which regime has provided the pathway to the first team like we have now. Would Baylee have been called up had he not been so active around our first team recently? 100% not. Well done Baylee, well done to the original scouts & well done to the current regime.
  23. Whilst I respect anybody who scouted any of our young talent & they do deserve some plaudits, you can't really throw the Flitcroft card at it IMO. Our Academy looks to be a million times better run now than it was before he arrived. It's all well & good scouting these players, but they have to be developed as well. For the last few years that's been under Flitcrofts watch. Baylee would've been about 14 when Flitcroft got involved. It was a savvy move bringing Will Ryder in. The current setup deserve praise for that. It's a real coup for Vale to get somebody called up for England, let's not dilute that because of other goings on.
  24. Baylee called up to England under 17s squad. Well done young man.
  25. The Bruno/Brown team went down with 49 points. This current bunch have 33 with 9 x games to go. This team is far worse.
