Could we perhaps arrange some form of exorcism, does anyone know a willing priest?
No, just a Pope! 🤣

I think it was a joke that he ruled himself out after watching us play on Tuesday.
Was hoping it was true and he'd actually said so! 😆

On the latest Ale and The Vale they say that Kennedy has ruled himself out - but don't say where they have had this from?

If he says 'Yes' deck him on the playground! 😆

Kennedy is now 6/4 favourite (with BetVictor).

I never wanted AC I wanted an experienced manager to steady us after a poor first season and establish us in league one. Then AC released his retained list and I was even more convinced that he was the wrong man for the job. Since the record breaking drubbing on the opening day I have basically been waiting for the axe to fall so the only surprise for me was how long it took.
I watched us repeatedly passing the ball around in our own half before eventually getting it up the right flank up to the edge of the box before turning around and playing it back to a defender who then passed it to ripley who launched it up the pitch looking for some invisible target man and then I sat mystified listening to AC tell me that we had dominated possession and just needed to find new ways to score goals and stop being sloppy at the back.
I get that people are keen to lay the blame for all this at DF's door, and I really don't think we need a dof so he can leave today for me, but anyone who listened to AC passionately defending the style of play, which he described many times as "non negotiable", after watching us lose yet another game must surely see that he was totally on board with it.
Sir John Rudges are few and far between and magnificent as he was all of our recent successes have been with experienced mangers like Micky Adams and DC.
Top of the list of essential attributes for our new manger is "experienced at this level"
Agree with every word of that.

Duff for me if he doesn't go to Huddesfield. He is strong manager. Also represented by an agent based in Stoke so local connection.
Would that be Gary Mellor?

I’m thinking we are going to stay with a coach. We are so nice with a squad full of kids expect us to be looking at England U21’s U19’s & U18!s coaches for our next appointment.
Lee Carsley is from Brum originally and would be an ideal choice, but he's complete pie-in-the-sky stuff, as he's certainly waiting on a Championship, if not a Premier League job (...if not actually angling to be in the mix to succeed Southgate himself later this year!). He turned down the Ireland job a week or so back.

Maybe we can get a good manager from Australia and he brings a striker with him!
Or Scandinavia - maybe Sven?! (only on a short-term deal!....very poor taste joke, always quite liked Sven and it was sad to hear his awful news recently).

Williamson at MK Dons would be good from a style of play perspective, but only hired in October.
Chris Hughton would be a wildcard appointment. Just sacked by Ghana. Might fancy a route back into UK football.
Williamson is from Hanley and is a Vale fan, isn't he? (not suggesting it should be him though)
Didn't realise that Hughton had left his international job. He's done a decent job at a few clubs.

Couple of utterly clueless posters on the BBC League 1 site as well - one calling for John Askey and the other for Joey Barton. Another saying that it's a ridiculous decision to sack AC because he was on track to ensure our survival in L1. Is there something in the water?
A load of whisky in it, by the sound of it! 🤣

Couple of utterly clueless callers on Radio Stoke....
- one saying that he's gutted Crosby has gone and he would now like Dunn to get the job.
- another saying that Crosby should have had until the end of the season and that he wasn't the problem.
Genuinely baffling what some Vale fans see when they go to games (assuming that they do?!)

The pitch forks are out for everyone. Why should we hear from Schofield? If Schofield came out and did an interview then the manager would be called spineless for not facing the media. Cant win.
Read it again......I asked has he said anything in the media since he was brought to the club - i.e. in the last 8(?) months.
It's normal to hear an assistant manager say something from time to time.

You have to give some credit to Crosby for having the guts to come across and face us too.
Were the fans giving him loads / telling him to go?

...you just know they will put Dunn or Schofield in “temporary” charge and just drag it out until they become the next manager by stealth.
Admittedly, I never listen to Radio Stoke any more other than on the way home from matches, and aren't subscribed to Baggaley's thing, but has anyone heard or read any comments from Schofield since he was brought to the club?
I wasn't entirely sure that he was still here. (...or even existed, for that matter!)

No mate his last game was Lincoln on a Saturday.
Crosby took charge on the Tuesday at Ipswich 3 days later.
Don't know exact day was sacked.
Was announced first thing on the Monday morning.
Think they'd had a meeting on the Sunday to decide it.
