We seem to be far better in the first half hour of games than we are for the final hour. The test now is how we respond at home next week. We're not going to win them all but it is a bit worrying how easy we've conceded goals today.

Proctor was a big miss today once he was subbed off.

If he hadn't have been taken off he might have been unavailable for future games. He probably asked to be taken off due to injury.

They have settled for 1 channel 1 club. It's FM for Stoke every game be it home or away.Vale & Crewe are juggled about between DAB & Freeview. Not everyone has DAB o0 Freeview. So a very simple, easy & logical way would be for FM be used for an away match. That way the fans of which ever team are playing away and cant get to the game for whatever reason.Have a decent chance of listening to the game.

Like I said a few weeks ago melv,it was pointless turning P&G on until 17.30.Now it seems I don't need to bother until 17.50 to hear about the Vale.

    Biased or what?

A great result today and if this doesn't energize us all for Harrogate nothing will. Delighted with the performance and it certainly shows we are more than capable of competing and beating teams above us. We need to start believing and the confidence will come.

Just need a home win now.

Just put myself through the misery of watching them back. Jesus. That phrase "he looks like he's won a competition to play" was really true for Mal Benning.

And yeah, watching it instead of fast paced real time from the back of the Railway, Cov was really slow on the first two. Has to at least touch the first one, it wasn't a bullet header.

Can't believe how bad Garrity was?

Midfield is always where games are won and lost.

This is a great point and I personally feel let down by the club again on my entry to the ground. Seems they’re more interested in their fan zone, which will come to an end when the weather changes. Good PA system though on Saturday and fantastic memorial so well done to PVFC on that front. I still wear my mask in the ground, I think I’m in the minority but each to their own. I’ve recently had two double jabbed relatives test positive from going to a local club to see a group

PA system at the Bycars End still problematic despite the new speakers.Cuts out when announcing substitutes!!Doesn't help when the scoreboard is limited as well.

  6. So disappointed with that defeat after such a great start but congratulations to Rochdale on their first ever league win at Vale Park.We should have been 3-0 up before they scored but we are sadly lacking up front despite creating numerous chances once again.

    Gutted but still hopeful.KTF

The funniest comment tonight was when that Becky said that Bryn was pragmatic and doesn’t let his emotions get the best of him!

Is this the same Bryn who was crying his eyes out on the radio a few years ago when they were going down?

He may be on a contract?Ask him a question and away he goes, gives Pej and Sandoz a ten minute coffee break.

Even the ratio in which RS do the calls is a massive imbalance. They give Stoke much more air time on P&G after the match. They have done so for years.Last Saturday P&G was about 1/2 hour in before any significant mention about Vale. The show is a 1 hour show (but 1/2 an hour before Vale mentioned. That first half hour of Stoke coverage didnt even include the post match interview with their manager

    Tuesday night

    Stoke v Swansea on FM.

    Oxford v Crewe  on DAB

    Vale v Carlisle on Freeview.

OK I know Vale were the only home team of the 3 teams.I can see a reasoning why this match was put on Freeview. So by that logic next time all 3 play and Stoke are the only home team.Vale & Crewe are playing away. Then it stands to reason that the Stoke game will be moved to Freeview Will that happen?? I doubt it lets wait and see.Was it Bryn last season the Stoke fan that was on week after week.He himself has probably had more air time himself on Radio Stoke that all Vale the fans who managed to get a call through then be lucky enough to get the return call from Radio Stoke

Never used to turn P&G on until 17.30 melv, don't even bother now.😥

The main issue with Southgate is he can be slow to make in game changes (the goal was coming) and does seem negative tactically when you consider the incredible attacking talent we now have.

Our squad is far better than Italy man for man but they won it deservedly and our main weakness appeared to be defensively pre tournament and we ended up very solid so there is a balance there.

When you consider the 'golden generation' when our squad was full of world class players in all positions, mostly at their peak around 2004-10 and how they performed despite the huge talent we had (2 QF, 1 R16 and a failure to make Euro 2008) then it does show the good job Southgate has done and the future looks incredibly bright, St Georges and the investment and set up the FA have put in place is starting to pay off like Spain did and Clairefontaine in France and I do feel we have a great chance now to be a big player in the next decade.

I agree,he is slow to make changes and considering the quality of players he has on the bench it seems to be his weakness Fresh legs in last twenty minutes of normal time might have made a big difference but unfortunately we'll never know.

How did the powers that be come to the conclusion that Donnarumma was player of the tournament ?

Bearing in mind they won the group with their eyes closed and from the last 16 onwards it's not like they were battered and he made a flurry of fantastic saves to get them to the final.

Seems to me he's been given it based on a few easy penalty saves.

I'd assume 99% of the time it's a player from the winning team so Chiesa would of got my vote.

    Very strange choice .

Player of the match perhaps but Pickford would have got my vote for player of the tournament with five clean sheets.
