  1. Don't know that much about him, other than thought he was a winger or more attack minded player. Don't want him pinned back in our half defending. Want him further forward, giving the opposition something to think about.
In theory, that's ideally what wing backs should be doing most of the time anyway, with the supposed safety of a CB behind them! The problem with our wing backs this season has largely been that they're too cautious, and can't take people on. Whether that's instructions, ability or confidence I don't know.
  2. Like I say, they've paid their money. They're entitled to an opinion. That's reality.
I don't get that. How does paying £20 odd quid a week make it perfectly ok for what are largely middle aged men to hurl abuse at players who, every week, try their best, even those who aren't good enough? On your logic, if a young shop girl doesn't serve me quick enough, it's acceptable for me to call her all the names under the sun and basically treat her like crap because I'm paying a quid for an item? But it only seems to apply to footballers

  3. If it is true about Williams then he's in for a rude awakening if he wants a long career in the game. This kind of thing is always a risk, I suppose, with handing promising youngsters with big egos a big fat contract on PL academy wages.

Pity but if it is true then we've done absolutely the right thing sending him back, and kudos to Liverpool for taking him back.

  4. Clarke Harris, 550k of guaranteed greatness who would be worth every penny.
On a lower value note, Will Goodwin who went from Cheltenham to Oxford will be an absolutely great signing as a striker. Only 21. We should have been in there
You do realise that JCH would want paying approximately 8-10k a week. So that's another million you can add on top of that.

As for Goodwin, I don't know much about him, but 6 goals and 1 assist this season hardly screams such greatness to say he'd be the answer. In any event, how do you know we weren't in for him and he wanted to stay down south, for example?

Garritys got more goals than either of them so far this season and he's not even a striker!

You're entitled to your opinion though, so crack on.

  5. Rot. Every club wants to buy low and sell high. That isn’t a model of anything, that’s what the club has always done. As others have said, Peterborough and Brighton spent money. We got some hopefully talented lads from somewhere else on loan. Not developing anything our own.

I just think it was all hot air. If the Liverpool and United prem lads are a success then they will simply leave the club and back to square one.

I don’t think they should not be here, they have a part to play, but they should be supporting a structure of decent players coming through, not be seen as big stars who will keep us up.

Cut through the bull from Flitcroft and we are left still needing a decent striker, which he reckons is out there in Sweden for some reason, probably because he got Rudgie’s book for Christmas. Forgetting we have Loft for another 18 months thanks to him and have kept Uche thanks to Charlton not wanting to go through with a deal.

We all know there are great strikers out there, the elephant in the room is that they cost money. That’s what’s really missing here, the money, not the quality strikers.
Who are these 'great strikers' that you think we should spunk our money on with guaranteed success?
  6. my views havent changed. flitcroft leaves a LOT to be desired. especially since hes making all the signings ( most of which are young future prospects on loan) and not actually players we can sign on long term deals. then theres the issue of 3-5-2 all the time on a pitch as big as wembleys. and then theres the insistence on keeping a manager whos win ratio is appalling. want me to go on ?
There's loads we can sign on long term deals. But nearly all will be worse, some a lot worse, than what we're getting on loan currently

  7. "We as a club have been scouted by Manchester United over a period of time, they have interviewed us and selected us based on how we play and how we support young players”

I have a hunch that may have been a very different outcome under Norman.

"Where are they taking all of those left over pies....?"

  8. Exactly! I remember the Oxford, Blackpool and Exeter manager’s  all saying the same thing this season. When will Vale fans all wake up to how crap we are?
If you categorise us, in your opinion, of 'crap' now, what on earth did you think of us just 4 years ago?

  9. So do.yiu prefer passing back ?
If it's a choice between that or just lumping it aimlessly forward in Popeball style and losing possession, 100% yes. The RS neanderthals are terrible for their 'get it forweeerd' demands when there's absolutely nothing on, then moan when we lose possession

  10. It'll be interesting to learn what's happened with Uche.  If he's not going that'll leave us with one mightily disappointed striker on our hands.  Not ideal, by any means.
Could be anything really couldn't it. Failed medical, Charlton going for 2 strikers in the real hope of bagging just 1 and pulling the deal once Ladapo signed, Charlton telling Uche he wouldn't be first choice, us offering him a new deal yet to be announced, or his agent suddenly changing terms at the last minute. Plus many more potential scenarios likely
