  1. Cheltenham's game in hand is at home to Peterborough midweek before the last game. However, they have Carlisle Tuesday, we are away at Peterborough Wednesday, so that could be where the swing comes in if results go the way most expect. Our 3 home games are huge, I just hope the next 2 games don't have a big psychological blow on us if we lose them both and results elsewhere go against us. Realistically they're not the games we would target for a points return, but if we lose both that could heap loads of pressure on the home games.

  2. It's a 3 horse race v 2 teams with worse form than us and very little to split us as far as points go. It may not happen, but don't understand where this, "not possible" line is coming from at the moment. We have to play 4 teams on the beach (I'm hoping Cambridge are one of them last game) where we have a good chance of getting 7 or 8 points from them. Personally think that will be enough. But that leaves Bolton, hoping they have one eye on rhe playoffs that game, and Peterborough which is always tough. 1 point from those 2 is a tall order, but not impossible, look at Carlisle they've taken 6 points from them away from home.

It won't be easy, far from it, but it's not this miracle some are making out. We deserve to be in the position we're in now, but similarly, if we go down from this position, we'll also deserve to go as we've got a great chance. Would only have ourselves to blame.

  3. I do get why people are so negative, but given the form of Burton and Cheltenham, I don't see why people think it's all over. We've got a massive chance of staying up. It's a 3 horse race for one survival spot, potentially 4 for 2 spots looking at Shrewsbury's run in.

  4. For me the meeting is welcome, but the statement was poor. I wouldn't mind if it was short and sweet and just let fans know dialogue had started and will aim to continue. I wouldn't even mind if it said, fans have been outstanding recently and that support is very much needed in the coming weeks. But to ask fans to stop getting frustrated as it doesn't lift the players...words to that effect, is just asking for a backlash, and that's exactly what it got. A shame really as a positive was turned into a negative by a lazy statement that wasn't very well thought through.

  5. Fans were excellent. Enjoyed the safe standing, helped the atmosphere, we really need to add that at Vale.

Onto the game. Other than Garrity and Ripley, gutless, spineless, pathetic. I can accept losing because a team is better than us, but to not even try is just completely unacceptable. Ojo is a disgrace.

There are others that have thrown the towel in too that didn't fancy it yesterday. Loft had a cold sore and Wilson dropped out due to a "slight injury".

The recruitment is to blame, as is Carol as she's facilitating the whole thing. Buck stops with her. Having one recognised striker in the squad, a 17 year old, was an absolute disgrace.

This seasons issues were predictable, completely avoidable and all self inflicted.

The January window was gross negligence, but to be in March and still not brought in a free agent is just carelessness. The evaluation has to start now. Being back in league 2 is going to be so depressing.

Going forward, I expect Carol to pay for her huge mistakes. Invest heavily in the squad to give us a squad to challenge for automatic promotion, minimum. I want a title challenge. Most Vale fans have never experienced one. She needs to deliver by way of an apology.

Pay the going rate for a recognised goal scorer. No more excuses. Invest in the fan experience to show fans she cares about them, including the installation of safe standing.

Incentivise the Hamil and Paddock to improve the atmosphere by dropping ST prices in there to £250. Regardless of what division we're in.

Yes you cannot lose games 7-0 first game and recover from it .

    I've tried forget that .

Our season ended v Middlesborough quarter final and we were so passive once fell behind since then apart from a few games where I'm thinking Vale can win games  under Crosby funny enough v Wigan 3'-2 and Charlton 3-3 ,3-0v  Blackpool  we haven't looked or played like a team.since .

Maybe Moore should watch  Videos of them displays at least they were exciting .

No good giving fans 20 minutes of good (Fleetwood)play they want 90.

V Lincoln I cannot recall any good pass and move moments v Reading unfortunate that mighten didn't score at 1-0 up different game altogether v Cheltenham negative at 1-0 up sitting back 1 attack second half goal but sitting back ultimately cost us the game ,and then Fleetwood I've never seen a more Diabolical negative put 11 men behind the ball nonsense in a half with a -20 goal difference to lower its surely same as first half display the message should be from manager not go out and defend deep all half and make T Sang look terrible which he was with due respect.

Darren Moore is a worry he needs wake up

All of those games we had Devine and / or Arblaster in the team. The team Moore is working with is devoid of that kind of talent and quality. It's pointless comparing, these players don't have anywhere near the quality needed.

Is it just me that finds it strange when he says things like "Port Vale have got to do this" etc. ? Maybe just me but I would be saying "We have got to do this" ,  either way I don't find his interviews all that rousing.

He says that very rarely. It's been something I've looked out for ever since Gannon, he never referred to the club or the team as his own. It was always "them, they". Moore doesn't do that. I've seen a few comments about him on here, completely undeserved in my opinion. He strikes me as someone who's fully on board, doesn't want to go down and is trying to be careful with his messages so as not to dent the players confidence.

Anyone blaming Moore is way off the mark and massively avoiding the clear issues we have at the moment.

We did far better without a manager, a draw against high flying Stevenage and robbed a point to a controversial penalty against Pompey. Why are Vale the only club not to have a lift with a new manager?

Crosby was in charge v Pompey. We lost to Orient with Ryder.

  9. 1,680 sold according to the Valiant. Not great but not surprising given everything. Horrendous form, an extremely expensive month with so many games. Hopefully a win tomorrow and pay day for some before the match adds a few more to the following.

Either way, I'll be there. Going with the view it could be our last visit there for some time. Enjoy it while we can.

  10. Ticket sales look quite poor for this. A lot has been said about how we're one of the only clubs who's fans sit down away. For many years we've known our fan base is an aging one, I think this just proves it. Looks like thousands of standing tickets available still, hardly any seats.

Limitations in place as you know so probable only 500 left anyway

Doesn't work like that. They've removed seats that aren't available. There's over a thousand still available in the Paddock. 600 available in Lorne Street, thousand left in the Hamil. Not many left in the stand.

Talk of giving Boro more tickets is pointless. Complete non starter with the need to segregate.

I know it is a Tuesday, but it is only £15 and somehow 550 we’re happy to travel 168 miles odd for the first leg! At £22.

Agree with the point you're making, but whoever added that Stevenage FA Cup away following up wants get back to Primary School level maths lessons. Have you seen the pitch side video on you tube. Not a chance there was over 500 there. 250 at most.

    11200 sold so far

Beat me to it just read the email. Over 3k in the Hamil. 1.2k paddock, Over 2.2k in the Stand. 1.3k Lorne St. Says the capacity is 14.5k, so 3.3k available seats in the home end. Really hope there's a late surge over the next 7 days. Starting to feel a bit more positive, a few wins will definitely help.

Really hope so....but if not, it's up to us who are there to raise the roof. The Paddock would have filled up much quicker if Boro had still been in the Hamil, and we'd have been able to offer them 1k more tickets.

Was going to like that, until the bit about the Hamil. A full Railway is nowhere near as loud as a 3/4 full Hamil. Will definitely be trying my best raise the roof in the Hamil.

Every Vale fan there has a part to play. Yes the football and results haven't been great recently but the best fans in the game make the difference on nights like this. Like v Swindon. We could have a huge influence on the game.

Sorry to say this doesn't add up. There are loads left if you go on the website. The Hamil looks like the Bycars used to look on a matchday with seats everywhere unsold. The Lorne St looks just over half full.

Still time but I can see an 8k gate on the cards !

There's a few in the Hamil but no where near Bycars available numbers. Maybe 1000 available max. Railway is the one that surprises me, it's just a sea of green, more so in the paddock but not great in the stand either. Shame, it will look rubbish on the highlights. Hopefully my earlier predictions that Vale fans leave everything to the last minute turns out to be accurate and we sell a load in the last few days. Like v Crewe, must have sold 1.5 to 2k in there on the day of the game.

As much as I admire and support Carol's aim to grow crowds towards 10k, l think she's over-optimistic. Never mind that, we've got a job holding on to our core of 4-5k now that the post-promotion buzz has dissipated along with the novelty of being back in League One.
I'd understand if the other team in The Potteries were doing much but they aren't. We might as well face it..... we're small-time.

The core 4-5k, of which I'm one, will be there through thick and thin, and always have been

I think we're at a crossroads right now. We tend to have our season after promotion where attendances grow to the 7 / 8k level, the away average grows to 1k. But then if there's no further progression on the field they start to decrease back down to the regular 4 / 5k.

Vale's attendances are a very odd thing to analyse. There was a time around the LDV season 2000/01 after relegation from the Championship that we were getting 3k. I remember being really happy that we got 5k at home in the LDV semi final v Lincoln. So we've grown the core fan base since those days.

The challenge is always the next step, getting us to the 7k mark we were getting last season and keeping them. We'd have to have a league one promotion challenge to get to that level in my opinion. That way we'd probably get to around the 7 / 8k regulars. 10k is currently way off.

Can new fans not go to this?

It could have been a chance to get people in for the first time and make them feel good about the fact that they don't usually go.

They can if they're with a friend with purchasing history or go into the club to buy a ticket. With Boro selling out they won't want them to get in our ends.
