  1. Would love it but can we afford him?
  2. Moving a lot quicker than they have on the Striker front!!!
  3. Perhaps someone should bring this to the attention of our beloved leaders?
  4. Let's not beat about the bush - recruitment has been poor beyond belief. On that basis DF deserves to be removed from situ. However, if the agenda is the fact that we are skint and focussing on other areas of the business to make money then that's the way they are going. It is false economy as losing League 1 status will destroy the much misaligned Premier League loan strategy. What is the cost of losing revenue from 2K supporters and the EFL money? It is difficult to be critical of the Shanahan's but what we are doing on the pitch recruitment wise is wrong - so wrong. I also have a feeling budget will restrict any new manager appointment.
  5. It tells us what we need to know. Many times in business I have witnessed organisations 'chasing the dream' and status via plans laid out by sales persons effectively. All sense of perspective and common sense goes out of the window and employees and customers go beside the wayside. Carol was very dominant at the forum, a change since the early days where she was gathering support. I do recall even Smurthwaite not 'being comfortable' with her for some reason? Maybe more than met his match! There is a big danger of alienating the fanbase, she won't care as she's transfixed on 'the plan/ the process'. For me, I find it astonishing that it looks like "my way or the highway" but that is the owners prerogative. What worries me and I don't wish to undermine the intelligence of Carol/ Kevin and the board but it could be a bit like an addiction - say gambling - You have a system and stick to it, when you begin to lose you still chase your tail believing the plan (system) will all come good in the end, particularly if you know of no alternative and are constantly being sold the dream with a few 'cash incentive sweetners' like the sale of youth along the way. DF is a skilled talker and has a vast knowledge of the game, it doesn't mean he's right. If he was so good then why did he/ need to 'rock-up' at "Poor Old Port Vale" in the 1st place? I'll be staggered if we survive in League 1 this season. Perhaps a few likely beatings against Stevenage and Peterboro can awaken the real world in which we live? Never thought I'd see this, so sad. I do hope the plan/ process works but I for one will not be betting on it!
  6. About as good as it gets but we will get hammered.
  7. We may need to take action as supporters again with DF. Can't see where the next point is coming from. We will get battered by Stevenage and Peterboro and lose to Cheltenham. I'm hoping someone says something or something happens before the weekend, ideally DF gone.
  8. Carol likes John I think Alan? The wheels have well and truly come off at Port Vale this time. Wouldn't surprise me if Carol is looking for out. Either way there is no way on earth that DF survives what has been basically a waste of time and money in regards to the playing side of the business. I smelt a rat a long time ago but it was not 'fashionable' to go against the 'spin' of the new-age process and DF.
  9. I personally like 70/80% of what Joey stands for, however, some of his antics of the past and particularly recently leave a lot to be desired. Could be fun but not for Carol. He'd deck DF!
  10. Absolutely bang on. Get the fraud gone. Carol has not alienated the fan base but many are sceptical and close to 'turning'. The honeymoon period ended last season, this is just a continuation of the second part of last season - only worse. The team is as bad as I've seen since the Dean Glover/ Michael Brown days. I'm shocked at how we have been dismantled, seems like a form of asset-stripping a-la Smurthwaite but under the guise of the 'Joker' Flitcroft. Sad state of affairs and Carol really does need listen to us this time or she and Kevin will be shipping more debt and misery.
  11. We need to make sure Kennedy is nowhere near the place and Flitcroft is gone.
  12. Probably not Carol's cup of tea tbf! I'd do it for sure.
  13. I'd honestly take Duffy with Tom as assistant as interim.
  14. "All aboard the good ship Port Vale whilst we enter choppy waters yet again" Hope we don't get battered tonight. There will be loads of people running to find a toilet (portaloo), either that or chasing DF and/ or officials! Madness....Hope the scanners work on the way in!
  15. Wasn't Murray the 'brains' behind the promotion side?
  16. It's Vale anything can happen. Would be fun if we go a goal down!
  17. There is a lot more to it. Can you think of any other manager who would have been willing to work without a striker, left wing back and numerous other deficiencies within the squad. It was/ is poor agreed but there is alot more to it.
  18. Me too mate. Billy <ovf censored> has to be sounded out.
  19. Called this. Another example of scatter-gun, crisis knee-jerk management from above. The real culprits are still within. AC is a genuine man who has been cast aside in a manner befitting of an organisation who's sole aim is to protect those at the top come what may. AC was left to coach/ manage with one arm tied behind his back. The timing is that of an organisation who are clearly placing the blame of it's inadequacy on an individual who effectively was not responsible for recruitment and was not provided with the tools to do the job. It's a no brainer - If Crosby goes, so does Flitcroft. To not bring in a striker for x4 windows is inexcusable. What was the c*ck-up with the Rhys Williams loan? Unforgivable. As I've said before, it is highly likely that the team on the pitch will reflect the modus operandi of the business off pitch. The club has imploded and is full of grandure. This will come at the cost of League 1 status and the loss of tens of thousands £'s in lost revenue from fans who will walk. Scapegoat.
  20. The 'problem' I have is this: Obviously, I'm grateful that the Shanahans purchased the Vale from the Fat Controller. We were heading out of business for sure. But, that said, many mistakes have been made by the owners and the 'committee' who run affairs on/ off the field. To comment on those is not a slur on Carol but merely pointing out factual concerns and observations. I am a continual improvement engineer, old fashioned time & motion engineer by profession. I look at businesses, issues, processes and methods, etc. However, much of what has/ is happening on and off the pitch that is not working is merely a lack of common sense, which in my opinion is often neglected by organisations in favour of more fanciful 're-invent the wheel' proposals that cost both time and money with little or no reward. For Vale to prosper, they need to generate income from the infrastructure and resources available - I understand that. But fundamentally what are we? A FOOTBALL CLUB, What is or should be the priority - THE FOOTBALL! All the rest is important and obviously maintains and grows the team/ club. I was very sceptical when we appointed DF as DOF and not manager. DF is very proficient in his manner and conversation, indeed, I believe he could sell snow to eskimos! In my opinion many decisions on/ off the pitch have been wrong. There has been a big spend and focus on hospitality, which generates money, which is fine but what % of the Vale population can see or benefit from this?. As many have said it's OK for the minority to enjoy 'living it up' in the RW Suite, whilst the rest of us queue and walk in the p*ss in sub standard facilities. That said, I can remember the toilets in the Hamil Lorne St being merely railway sleepers behind a wall! Losing Colin Garlick was a big mistake - I assume his face didn't fit and he was maybe contradicting the new 'model' theory? Other key staff members have gone and replaced with inexperienced 'new-age' employees who probably tow the company line and dream. On the pitch, we have been very lucky indeed to have Arblaster and Devine this season but the inexperienced loan system will backfire in the lower leagues. To not recruit strikers of any real value on the pitch (goals) in the last two seasons is a fundamental critical error that effectively 'could' wipe out any gains made in revenue streams off the pitch. I could make a list of issues/ failings but we know most of those. Critically it appears that those in control appear to ignore the basic facts and fundamentals of the business, this effectively leads to failure in any business. The team is by no means strong enough in every position apart from Goalkeeper this season. The midfield of Ojo, Arblaster, Chislett and Devine was key to early results. I do think that the team on the pitch mirrors events off the pitch. With that in mind, we appear to be so inconsistent, naieve and often adopt a scatter gun, fire-fighting approach. The club needs realigning, starting with the First Team set up NOW. Will anyone listen - probably not from my experience. There will always be an excuse for failure.
  21. "All fur coat and no knickers" Vale have lost touch with x2 critical things: 1) The game itself and 2) the core supporters It won't end well for any of us. Crosby will most likely be gone tomorrow after DF and Carol (who doesn't read online media now) get wind of the fan unrest. Too little - too late. Shambles. A different kind of shambles to what we have known - but a shambles non the less. It will be toxic Tuesday.
