Spot on ,what a GUTLESS showing again ,wouldnt mind so much but we didnt even look interested in scoring ,it was a damn awful display ,positives we only let them score one ,negatives at work with not a happy bone in me body after witnessing a nothing display again ,we are abject .

Play To  Win and whoevers bright idea it was play Conlon in midfield wants shooting ,wheres Burgess a miles better footballer than him also Rodney up front he is atrocious in 7 games I can count on one hand how many good things he as done .

Hurry up back Pope and even then he may have the heart but not the legs ,most of them who played for us yesterday need showing the door there heart isnt with us you can see it in there body language there mugging every single one of us supporters off .

I think it's me, being a Vale fan fearing the worst but always finding any glimmer of hope from some media. This time it was attending the virtual meeting - 230 of us on, thousands more now get the vibe (or shall I say got).

Tuning in again yesterday to an attrocious iFollow stream, most of the first half buffered, It was so poor I nodded off and missed their goal, then to watch the rest in disbelief, struggling to link the <ovf censored> on the pitch to all the talk in the meeting. Was this Port Vale in disguise, was this the team and club so gloriously talked about by Carol, Flitcroft and Clarke? Was it hell as like. So in summary, I'm confused. Are Flitcroft (who incidentally didn't show the same exhuberance and mannerisms on Thursday as he did in his 'wonderful' youtube initial interview) and Clarke the 'real deal' or chancers as some would say? Is Carol with all the best intentions in the world being ripped off. She's much more astute and intelligent for that but as I have witnessed first hand, there are many chancers, crooks and <ovf censored> in football, many false promises are made, look at Man Utd for example, the problem is, that because of Covid, we cannot support her and the club in the way we would have normally. And at the end of the day 4,000 fans won't all be wrong in their assessment.

For me, yesterday was such an anti-climax and let down to the point of anger, tears and the realisation that a team lacking so much in desire and cutting edge is heading only one way - something that the oaf Mr Smurthwaite was never achieved despite all his best efforts.

I do hope that Carol, the board and the 'dream team' read this but probably not and if Smurthwaite does and he gloats - well, man - you should hang your money grabbing fat head in shame,

Are you talking about the bloke who took over a team on the verge of promotion and took us to within a point of relegation to the National League in four seasons?

Yes on the pitch - certainly not off it. We were garbage then and are now but for entirely different reasons.

Exactly can only pick from the ones he's inherited no ones come up with a sensible alternative  thats why weve got to get behind them and support em.

Some of the comments on facebook are disgusting, if i was Carol I would try and sell up and leave em too it, some so called fans get the club they deserve.

Having watched and asked questions in Thursdays meeting, i have gone from being hopeful and 'buying-in' to the plans of carol/ Flitcroft and Clarke, witnessing todays performance has told me that not many, if any of the playing staff are on the same page. It leaves me subdued and feeling cheated that we have players who do not share a modicum of passion I hold for the game and in particular Port Vale. The jury is out on Clarke - how bad is that statement by me in itself? It happens, sometimes people just don't fit and rub people up the wrong way, deservedly or not. It is not happening, it does not look like happening. We look worse now than at any time in the 'fat controllers' regime. I feel for Carol, who feels for the many thousands of us apart from her and Kevin? No one.

I absolutely do. There is no way we're a football league club next season.

    3 wins in 25?

Other teams around us picking up points.

Haven't scored in last 4 home games.

Only scored in 2 from last 7 games.

It's a matter of time before we're in the bottom two.

Grimsby bottom. Vale 2nd to bottom. That's how it's ending.

That is how it's ending, there is nothing apart from Tom Pope returning that offers a glimmer of hope.

The fitness and pressing game against FGR at home early last season was a thing of beauty. We were superb for 95 minutes

I think it's easy to blame Askey now, he made mistakes but many factors have contributed to where we are now. Many have not been addressed by the new boys in charge imo.

    Robinson didn’t work hard

He was not the only one. It will take more than Mr Flitcrofts sports science to sort this sh*t out. I'd like to hear Askey's response to the fitness claims. to me when he came in, that was what I noticed about the Vale side. They were fitter and at em. We have some wasters at the club, even if fit won't look any different.

This time next Saturday though Pete I don't envisage typing the words

    What a great win

Me neither Darren, following Thursdays meeting and me as usual 'buying-in' to everything, to witness that has totally deflated and upset me, which is a shame for me and every other Vale fan out there.

Today, I saw a relegated side, offering nothing. Clarke for me came from nowhere, he speaks well, that is not enough. Sick of it and it will break my heart if we lose league status.

Dreadful game of football ,lookedto me like we were playing for a 0-0 and lost to a team who didnt deserve win .

Going down unfortunately there was no blood and thunder about the display ,half hearted to me ,Rodney Worrall Robinson all ominous .

There was nothing to get excited very poor that effort is all well and good but lack guts get the ball in the net and that will see us in the national league unfortunately .

Always love the Vale but fearing the worst now .

That display today just wasn't good enough at all

Following Thursday, the last thing I expected was a display so lethargic, I expected blood and thunder at the very least. I fell asleep in all honessty and missed the goal.

This hurts and it's worse that we can't vent our feelings.

This display was as abject as any we have witnessed since the end of October

  9. The Colchester and Barrow games are the ones that will save us or send us down. All the positivity from Thursdays meeting and we witness that. I will save the negativity but as the saying goes "You can fool some of the people some of the time but you can't fool all of the people all of the time"

So sad, bitterly disappointing, cruel to have to witness this at home.

No data on players pre-season personal training. No monitoring of what they were getting up to in their 5 months off. No data on who had Covid. Sporadic due diligence in recruitment in terms of medical assessments. What the hell was Askey doing? Dreadful.

All sorts of stuff was mentioned. Who trains, who doesn't, they don't or didn't know for sure. What players did, did they spend too much time running on roads. Injuries were due to this along with training on different pitches, not being monitored or set targets, etc - A mess!

Although Mark said all questions sent in would be asked, mine didn't though... 🤷‍♂️

He asked 3 of the 4 I put forward and to be honest i was not expecting that. Many questions were combined on a 'like type' theme. Lets see what the next 12 games bring starting Saturday.

Excellent ,reassuring, meeting.Interesting to hear a request for a truce from slagging players and club,  via Social Media, for the next 12 games.FOR THE SAKE OF PORT VALE ,LET'S ALL DO IT☺

Agree, this could turn out to be a good thing, there WILL and already is a process to bring 'root and branch' change. if we don't get wins in the next 12 games then the players themselves will take the majority of responsibility imo. They are being worked hard, have been told a few truths and I expect them to deliver, particularly when Amoo, Worrall and Tom Pope are playing. I hope I'm right, more confident than I was for sure.

Can I be controversial here !!

Trying hard and running around is an absolute requisite when you pull on a football shirt , Port Vale, Liverpool or Hackney marshes reserves.

I'm not getting this leeway that because somebody is trying that it cuts them some slack.

The 100% fact is that Guthrie and Robinson are horrendous players.

Guthrie might look more interested than Robinson but I'm sorry that won't get us out of this mire.

If Gary Lineker can wear a cast in The 86 World cup then Pope needs to be trundled out as a one armed one legged Pope is more of a goal threat than those pair of carthorses combined.

Stop making excuses just because one of them tries they are both truly horrific.

    The end

I'm OK with that, these people are getting paid good money in a profession many fans can only dream of. Needs addressing. get the Pope on.

They have made some quality signings. Makes a huge difference. They brought back Tom Pett from Lincoln who is excellent for league 2, Lines and loaned Matty Stevens from Forest Green, plus a number of other quality additions.

We got Guthrie.....and Swan who may come good.

    Pretty much says it all

    Mckirdy

I remember Mckirdy goading Vale fans at Crewe, he's lucky no one went on after him. I think he has talent but does not apply or use it sadly. Needs a lick up the Jacksy. Rudgie now retired then!

Strolling around like he was at the beach ,there second goal May is his man and he is behind the goalie when it goes in Smith that is, ok Crookes should have blocked the goal bound effort but didnt want get hurt by the way he went in but there player the  forward the one who scored ,as someone rightly said picked the ball up in central midfield with Smith no where near him .

How many times this season same goal and you wonder why I do  not rate him .

Yet first name on team sheet tuesday hope he doesn't allow it happen again as he is a liability in my opinion

I must admit I was over the moon when Nathan committed with us. he has looked as poor as anyone, what on earth has gone on within the club? i thought Askey was strict, fitness orientated, etc. It appears not if you listen to Clarke
