  1. I think the plan was to keep it tight possibly similar to Exeter. McKirdy's movement is superb and he is well up for it. DC knows that but we did not pay him the attention he deserves, like him or not. I didn't go to Exeter, but if I'm honest since we won at hartlepool, we do not look the same side. We do not create much, don't get round the back, etc. We are dependent on brilliant pieces of skill from Wilson/ Proctor. We do miss Brad Walker, a fit Dave Worrall would help. Hope I'm wrong and the lads can find some form and win the next two games - give em a shout on Thursday. UTV
  2. Liked him at United
  3. Thank you. Superb side Exeter, hope to see you next season
  4. Lets just hope we don't let McKirdy run-riot through the middle. I'm confident we'll sort it and Swindon respectively. UTV
  5. My daughter logged on to Ticketmaster this morning, aquired x4 tickets for Lorne St but Ticketmaster account would not accept payment with my credit card which is secure and valid. We have lost the tickets. To make it worse it is a Port Vale MBNA card that I have had for 20 years!!
  6. On behalf of all Port Vale supporters I wish Darrell well. Tomorrow is massive for this football club and all involved. Lets go to Exeter and get the result the season deserves. Stay positive, fight hard, be confident and I'm sure we'll be just fine. UTV "don't mention the 'P'word"!!!!
  7. I think it is time for change, thats not a bad shout. Exeter are a good side and may play straight through us. We need an early goal and be positive. Hope we turn up otherwise you may not be the only one in need of rescue sir! keep the faith UTV (he says...)
  8. Are vale capable of that. We need Hall back for sure.
  9. Having witnessed the wins at Hartlepool, Barrow and Salford, prior to the Bristol game I was convinced we were on for automatic promotion. It was obvious that for creativity and any direct passing we became dependent on Brad Walker. He has gone unnoticed in various positions this season. With this in mind, I was a little cautious when he did his hamstring. I was not expecting even with him, Conlon and Jones out what I saw at Walsall and again yesterday. We were so poor and bereft of any positivity, pace or creative ideas. We are so predictable but even so I am at a loss as to how we have captulated. You just don't see sides 'nailed' on for promotion performing in this way and go on to lose 3/4 games consecutively? I am so disappointed but not sure what the reasoning is? There are too many things that appear wrong and now 8/9 players are underperforming - why? Can we win at Exeter - yes, but not a cat in hells chance if we perform as we have of late. Confused tbh, does not make sense to chuck it in now?
  10. Something is not right within the infrastructure, perhaps the club knows the issues. Finances must be tight but I do believe we have missed out on quite a bit of revenue imo of late. it's hard to be critical because I know the depths to which we plunged in recent times.
  11. He ran off with the pies, wads of cash from hospitality and catering, a punch in the face and his trousers round his fat ankles - or so I was told🐽
  12. Would be great as I have no ticket
  13. They won't change it now but yep that's the answer.
  14. Gibbo is a must, hope Pett is fitter. All or nothing v Newport. Focus on this first and foremost. Two wins and we are promoted.
  15. I would have thought that it could be possible via ifollow. Have the club enquired about this as a 'one-off'?
  16. Yes it's Vale. 75 points is normally more than good enough. If we fail to gain points from the final 2 games it is our own fault. It is highly unlikely that a team going for promotion loses it's last four games. Keep the faith, we can't play worse than we did at Walsall. We'll beat Newport. Exeter will now be going for the title so it will be tough for Northampton and ourselves regardless.
  17. It all depends who I relate to. My best mate is a Stoke fan, we used to go to Vale one week, Stoke the next in the late 70's. We talk honest football with no vitriol. I have a lot of respect for Stoke teams in the past. However on the whole, there is hatred amongst Stoke/ Vale, this is real nasty and I have witnessed aggro on occasions. I hate the moron Stoke fans and I hope we hammer them every time we play them. If we ever play and beat them in a competetive fixture again Burslem or Stoke will not be a safe place to be at. Have to say I do love it when we beat them more so than any other side. Not a big fan of Walsall tbh
  18. Having witnessed some fantastic performances of late, this game was a bitter disappointment. Do we miss Brad Walker so much? He has positivity and directness in his play, today we lacked quality, composure , aggression looked a spent force. The final ball and play in the final third was abysmal. Many had poor games, Proctor had his worst game in a Vale shirt. We have a strong side, we need to see it. How many injuries are we carrying? I was shocked at how poor we were in and out of possession. We are not 'bottlers' as some say, maybe a little predictable. Disappointment aside, we need changes, we need aggression from the off against Newport. It's not over till it's over as they say. keep the faith. UTV

  20. I hate to moan when there are so many positives. We do need to improve entry to the ground. There was little difference from the Bristol game compared to Tranmere earlier. Ridiculous queues. Apart from games like v Arsenal, Genoa, Everton, Stoke and the like, we managed crowds adequately in the past. Is it the scanners, poor scanning of tickets, not enough turnstiles open? There is also little management of the long queues. In the Paddock, there are x2 ST turnstiles and x1 ticket turnstile. people do not know which is which queue and whether or not they can use either of the x3 turnstiles. One gripe amongst many improvements on and off the pitch. But as the owners may well say. If no one tells us the problem, how can we fix it?
  21. Bristol for me would be favourites in the play-offs. Sutton can also cause problems. We've done great whatever happens but we must now finish the job. Did anyone mention how close (or if not) Gibbo and Pett are to returning?
  22. Cass was superb as is Gibbo. Let's hope we get Pett and Gibbo back. It's funny how one poor performance changes the mindset. Walker has also gone under the radar and has also been superb of late. Problem is now that sides will stop Proctor and Garrity in particular leaving us limited to a degree. A win at Walsall is key to automatic imo. 2 wins may be enough.
  23. Good post this. We are now struggling in midfield. How far away is Pett. Thought he'd done his hamstring as has Walker? Gibbo could be an option somewhere in the side assuming we can get him fit. We looked short yesterday but what a fantastic run we've been on. UTV
  24. Thought it was comfortable for Bristol Rovers today tbf. I went for a 2-2 draw prior to the game. If I'm honest when I saw Walker going off at Hartlepool, I thought we may struggle in midfield and we did. Rovers jumped on Proctor, nullified Benning and took control of the game. second half was an improvement but I couldn't see a goal coming. Not sure if we'll see Pett, Gibbo or Walker again this season. Jake Taylor needs games, who will take the holding role in midfield? We allowed their skipper Coutts to dictate the game and the referee, reminded me of Barton tbh. I'm not gonna knock one poor performance too much when you consider we were in 10th position a few months back. We've had terrible injuries and off-field tragedies, our starting midfield is injured. If we can get the ball to Proctor and Wilson with decent support we'll be OK. There were more than 10,840 there today, nothing has been learned from the Tranmere game in respect of queues and refreshments by the look of it. Is there an 80% safety factor on the ground. Has the paddock been deemed unsafe (obviosly not otherwise we wouldn't be allowed in?). A few rumours about regarding safety certs and finance - I don't believe them btw. The more money that comes in the better for the club, we must have one of the overall highest wage bills in the league. A great season - just needs topping off with another 9 points. "We go again as they always say" UTV
