Burton Albion manager Nigel Clough said it was a “tough night” on Tuesday after they defeated Port Vale 2-1 in the Carabou Cup.
Clough’s men took an early lead before Mark Cullen’s first senior Vale goal made it 1-1. However, the visitors rallied to score the winning goal and progress to the next round.
