  1. Brown 7 no chance with goal and apart from a early save and a bouncing shot in second half had nothing do in general . Smith 8 excellent again won penalty and along with the two others saw that the opposition were less threatening by the minute as game ticked on . Legge 9 man of the match absolutely wonderful display won everything . Brisley 8 maybe should have scored second half when hooking over from close in but on the whole after dodgy start won everything . Worrall 6 worked extremely hard defensively but didnt really influence our forward play as such but did his job well in a team way . Gibbons 7 was linking well with players at times I like it when he gives and goes . Whitehead 7 linked the play well had a very decent game I thought . Joyce 7 set up Robinsons goal after smashing work from Swann and generally passed the ball well and was in general the best midfield player on the pitch . Robinson 8 scored a lovely goal should have sealed it late on after Amoo played him in but generally had a good game and kept Vale up there end when required Swann 7 like how he links play a player who is always on the move along with Robinson didnt give the Bradford back line a minutes peace Conlon 7 a lovely volley saved by keeper ,a very well taken penalty goal and constantly chasing players all over the pitch and being in there faces, terrific stuff a great week for the lad . Subs Amoo 7 I enjoyed his efforts . Burgess 7 carried on from the good work by whitehead thought he passed it super well and he was chasing every lost cause aswell i like him he is a very good player . What a transformation in Vales fortunes ,every player playing for the shirt it's being a terrific ending to the season thus far and so nice enjoy Saturday's again . As for Bradford I thought they were decent first half but second half they had no answers and let's face it they got what they deserved nothing Darrell Clark has excellent in game management because first 20 we were struggling then he did a change in formation and then we got our game going and for that he gets a 10 along with that motivational lieutenant Crosby . A collective well done to them all and Davif Flitcroft you legend what a fantastic team of people you brought in with the backing of our big hearted chairlady Carol Thank you so much UTV lets get everyone in ground for Mansfield game

  2. Hello from across the pond, I've been knocking this idea around in my head for a little. I think the one thing the modern Vale embodies is community - this was and has once again become a community club focused on the fans. As you can imagine from the States, I don't get to watch the Vale nearly as much as I'd like to (especially in person). That being said, if possible, I'd happily pay to sponsor two season tickets for the community at-large for the upcoming season to make sure some well-deserved Vale fans can bring the passion I wish I could to Vale Park. I know its not much, but who knows, maybe there are others like me out there. If someone knows who I can reach out to to make this happen, please let me know. UTV, Vale til I die, and here's to 2021-22. Cheers, Quakervale

  4. If the foundation don’t contact the SC themselves I’m happy to pass everything onto Mark P if and when QuakerVale can update us on Vale’s response and how much funding would be required to accommodate every kid on the free meal list who would want to come to games? Or I’m happy to set up a fundraising platform on behalf of OVF and PVO users, I’ll have a look through the various donation setups like gofundme etc and see which one takes the smallest commission cut. I’m on a bit of a mission atm to save a few of my younger cousins from the dark side of the stadio de incínerator, I knew the details about the junior Valiant scheme as I’ve offered to buy memberships for relatives kids. All options to force them to sit in the railway and sing Steino is a tosser are on the table up to and including abducting Mr Tumble.

  5. That’s dead sound of you mate. At £10 for a junior valiant membership/kIds ST you could get 50+ of the kids from the Hubb foundation free meals list signed up and down VP every game for the cost of sponsoring two adult ones, perhaps that would go even further for the community? Just an idea, didn’t know what/who you had in mind.

  6. Anyone seen that disgraceful dive by Charlie Kirk to win a pen yesterday? He should get a two game ban for that for successful deception of a match official.

  7. Wozzer does a job wherever. It is more about getting the best from him. Gibbo had a quiet day yesterday. We need a LB so we can have Gibbo RB and unleash Wozzer wherever it hurts the oppo most.

  8. There's been just four managerial sackings in the Premier League this season. With Watford promoted again this number will surely increase massively next season.

  10. Phil I agree with what your saying apart from the bad run was due to the players were not giving 100% but having said that the high press which had been a successful feature of last season and early this season under JA wasn't happening. IMHO the bad run wasn't due to one thing but a number of "smaller" things, eg loss of key players to injury (Gibbo, Worrall, Oyeleke, Montano), loss of form of key players at the same time (Legge and Smith), bumping into in form teams one after the other, poor refereeing decisions at key moments in the game (Joyce vs Tranmere), worldie goals by the opposition, the ball not running for Vale at key moments etc etc and the subsequent loss of confidence that followed. During the bad run Vale played some nice football but didn't get the results, better than some of the football we've played under DC and won but I'm like every other Vale fan I'll take the W any day. I've still not heard what happened with Mitch Clarke and why he went back to Leicester early as he was a superb player at this level. Exactly what happened to cause the bad run we'll probably never know but I've always posted and considered that there are many good players in this squad and thankfully DF/DC have righted the ship and hopefully this great form can continue into and right through next season. DF/DC have a real conundrum now in who to keep/let go.

  11. Knock-on idea Doha, I've just reached out to the Hubb Foundation to get the ball rolling. Now let's get jabs in arms and butts in stands!!!

  12. Although DC has clearly stamped his mark on the Vale squad i don't think the work done by Andy Crosby should be overlooked. As the Bristol Rovers forum who are still following DC say it's a marriage made in heaven. Am I correct in thinking that AC came in after the Bolton game and so has made a massive impact. !!!

  13. Top 10 must now be the target for DC as he finalises his squad and player options. If Grimsby fail to win on Tuesday at Exeter they would be relegated barring freak goal scoring. So with nothing to play for they may find hidden form, and the Vale relax with the sea breeze switching the focus to summer holidays? Not likely with DC about Vale to win the game 2-0.

  14. That is football, what some in the US do not understand, ups and downs with 92 or more teams. I have had a good shift too, I consider the Vale a mid L1 team, seen spells above and below, at present I see us on the rise maybe a Championship visit in 4 years. Fond memories of Norman Low.

  15. Hope we can get him to stay because it's going to be really difficult to find someone who will do as good as job and they are unlikely to have the initials AC as well.

  16. Not sure whether this has been mentioned...or happened? Surely. DC must be nailed-on for Manager of the Month?

  18. Just before Bolton but he's made a massive difference and Clarke will say so himself.

  21. Remember some years ago Maynard diving right in front of us behind the goal at crewe when our keeper was a good foot away from him as the ball went out the ref gave a goal kick and gradi came on the radio and said my players don’t cheat it was a definite penalty

  22. I will let my grand kids be in it for the long haul i'v done my shift i want promotion next season and i think we are on the right track to do it.The long hard years from 1954 to Norman Low to John Rudge to Micky Adams and now the Shanahans era it just feels we are in a good place at last and long may it continue.

  23. Adam Crosby is a must to sign a contract he and Clarke have turned the vale season round they have instilled the work ethic into which this team is performing at.They have give the vale supporters the hope that better times are ahead of us all next season cannot wait for august so we can compete at the top end of this division COME ON THE VALE.

  24. Hi folks, Just a polite reminder to stay on topic. If you want to comment on an unrelated matter do so on another thread (or set one up). If things veer off topic I will prune/edit posts to stop it veering off on a tangent. Thanks a lot, Rob

  25. If there's a pot to donate into to buy some Vale fans some season tickets, I'm sure loads would contribute.

  26. Contact supervaleabroad.com as they all ready run a scheme and have been collecting donations that they use to send families to matches and even paying for kids to be mascots

  27. Great idea Doha to set up a donation kind of thing for the kids,i would happily chuck some in to that mate, lets all help to get that new generation of vale fans into the ground just at the right time as exciting times seem to be ahead of us

  28. Swindon have loads of problems and aren't safe from being expelled altogether or a massive points deduction
    1 point
  29. Swindon being in the mire is excellent as it might finally turn around that dreadful away record. They were on some county court bailiff TV documentary having assets repossessed years ago and nothings changed since, perennial financial basket case. I don’t think Barton will last long at BR, from what I understand he’s not endeared himself to the fans and they need a huge squad overhaul. I’m going to sound harsh here but I still have a realist eye on a good clear out despite the upturn in form and individual performances. Playing well in end of season dead rubbers when you’re playing for a contract doesn’t impress me when you spent the winter bottling it losing every week. Not too wild with the machete chopping the squad down but not too sentimental either. Can’t afford to make the same recruitment and re-signing mistakes again, we simply have to go out and poach some nailed on starters this summer.

  31. I can see Bristol Rovers been up there challenging but Swindon look a right mess, talk of going into administration, think they need 3 million by June to avoid this, its then 2 from Rochdale, Northampton, Wigan and Wimbledon.

  35. Sorry, but 12 months ago JA was being hailed as a great manager. None of us could have imaged what was to happen - I for one couldn't anyway.

  36. At the end of the day we have a proper manager who knows how to get the best out of the players he has. One who can change formations to combat any team and enthusiasm to encourage the players to do better. All this recent success is down to the manager and in turn Carol!

  37. I think he will want to mix and match tbh,the back 3 has worked for him this season so i cant see him just ditching it,i can see him keeping Brisley(will already have Legge and Smith here) and then bringing in a young pacy CB

  38. I said the other day that the most important signing we could make in the summer was Conlon on a longer deal but i would like to add Andy Crosby to that, its so important for our plans that we try our very best to get him to stay even if its just for next season

  41. Seems a shame to stick with the club through the Smurthwaite era where he literally couldnt have cared less about the club or fans and then leave under a carols watch who cares passionately about both. Things will never be perfect... the club has just gone through one of the most difficult 18 months in its history. Mistakes will be made. Hopefully you and the club can find a way to make things right. UTV

  42. iFollow has been a lifeline for my Grandad in his late 80s who has fervently supported the club since the 1940s. Would love to see it continued next season.

  44. I’d be more than happy to pay for a couple of £10 season tickets for kids. The only success I had with my own kids in getting them to watch Vale was they have both kept their promises not to marry a Stoke fan

  49. Blackburn kinda bought the league at a time when money had yet to completely take over the game. Leicester was a once in a hundred years event and even then they were owned by Thai billionaires. It is amusing though that Arsenal (zero Champions League trophies) and Spurs (not even a Premier League title) have been invited into this new league. No room for Ajax with their four European titles?
