  1. Hi, me and my partner gonna be at walsall away, in the pubs with a camera if anyone want talk vale stuff and football, for a documentary... more casual type stuff, as I wanna enjoy a beer too, just drop me a pm if you about in walsall, ive dropped the club a line too, most folks I've mentioned it too seemed intrigued, I've dropped the media guy Dan a line as quoted below "Hello Dan, I'm a film graduate, and part of a film making collective, we have made the decision that we are going to push forward with a passion project, which is looking into football culture, I would like to use por

  2. I dont get the vitriol for Salford. They have been kicking around non league football since 1940. They are a proper club just like Kidsgrove, Leek, Stafford Rangers etc... They got lucky when the rich guys decided to propel them forward with investment and yes they are poorly supported, just like Accrington, Bury, Morcombe, etc.... They have every right to be where they are, they haven't done an MK Don's and stolen another clubs identity and league position, they have worked there way through the pyramid. There is no FPP in the conference to my knowledge and I dare say alot of the clu

  3. I have said countless times, I would love the family of 4 who hurled abuse incessantly at David Amoo at Mansfield away for over an hour (no exagerration) to come forward and explain themselves. If they weren't shouting something at him, they were having a right old chortle amongst themselves about how bad he was! Isn't that clever?! Never mind him setting up the goal, he's just a (quote) "typical black winger". Amoo heard it and it was obvious he wasn't enjoying. The abuse Montano got prior to his switch to left back has been replaced by abuse of Bennett, Amoo, and via social media,

  6. Not at all mate , wearing a Stone Island or CP Company or whatever doesn't mean yob. I'd love to see a Court case where somebody was refused entry to a football match based on the clothes they wore . I'm not being an ass hole but you literally can't spot a yob. How do you spot a paedo ? Glasses and beard is the stereotype for that according to some stand ups I've watched . Dangerous territory to be assuming things of people based on looks

  7. They are usually pleasant but I've been searched on my way into the Railway Paddock - but not at every home game. Maybe one match in every five or so. But it does occur. For your information, I now qualify for reduced admission as I'm in my sixties, often on my own and carry no bags or belongings apart from some cash and my ticket. But I guess they feel obliged to search every one in half or dozen to justify their status. It always strikes me as ridiculous. One fella was told he could not take in his flask a few months ago but there was a heated discussion when he said that he needed it f

  8. What an awesome interview with Monty tonight about mental health. Total respect for the guy. However to all you big mouthed moaning half wits who think it’s OK to bully our own players by hurling abuse at them. I would suggest that you need help. So shut the f up and get some counselling.

  9. All this money we aren’t giving to the EU, surely a lot of it will have to be used to fill in the gaps left by EU funding like subsidies to our farmers, regional development fund money and the like. How much of the phantom £350 million will actually be available to spend on new projects?

  11. If we won the Champions League, The Premiership and the paint pot cup, the doubters would still hurl abuse at our players, owners and the like. Thanks to the Shanahans we are in the best position we have been in for quite a few years. I'm really proud of the team, the owners, the club as a whole and hopefully if not this season, maybe next......we are onwards and upwards. I'm so proud to be Vale. Its been a 41 year dream.......I'm still hoping. If you are a naysayer, a complainer, a glass half-full type person, then go support your own arse......because your life is full of S#iT and you have n

  12. The ethos of the Shanahans' management of the club is for everyone to be involved, a family. As such, they don't need to ask for ideas but will certainly welcome them. the first line is correct, meetings being held between club an supporters club!

  14. 2,177 sold at the close of business. An outstanding following that builds on sell outs at Crewe, Salford, Macclesfield, and Man City, and a consistency of 5000+ at home (6 of our last 8 home games). Some clubs in this division couldn't dream of a home attendance of that size; and all bar a select few won't come close to an away following of that size. Up the Whites. See yous tomorrow.

  17. Best of luck with your project. It’s safe to say that everyone connected in any way to Vale will feel reinvigorated this season. In the wider sense, you’re not alone in feeling “detached” from football. The Prem gravy train has ruined things. TV dictating the schedule. The authorities out of touch with reality. VAR. So many things wrong. Despite this, real football still survives in the lower leagues, and clubs like our own, with its caring owners and emphasis on the local community, are a shining example. We can enjoy/endure the true highs and lows. We go into each season with the ho

  20. I think the point here is that the money is actually coming from Peter Lim, a billionaire from Singapore who also owns Valencia. I dont think the class of 92 have put in much at all i comparison. They do however mean we have to watch Sky Sports Fawn over them and the club. Financial FAir play was meant to keep things level.... Salford are not doing that. I don't like them.

  26. Last time I was searched was at Man City. I was shown into a queue by the steward, only to find out it was the one to get a lady searcher! I'm over six foot tall and look like Frankenstein's assistant so there was no way I could have been mistaken for a woman! She laughingly guided me into the right queue. Pity...........🙂

  28. This seems to come up in a thread every few months or so. Never had an issue with it myself, get searched at most away games & majority of home too, happy to volunteer for it & given my attitude, they're always friendly. Should be no issue with them doing it constantly to all kinds of people, better off searching/scanning thousands every game, rather than a single incident occur at any football match & result in an injury/loss of life/whatever. Also guarantee that the day somebody gets hit by a flare or similar, everyone will be asking where the search was. I was inches

  30. I am glad they have started searching people. I would rother be searched then go with my kids and some <ovf censored> start chucking flares or fireworks about. I am 37 blind and still get a patdown and so does my wife. If one of you got hert then you would be saying that they should be searching people. Stop being such old moaners! It takes 30 seks for a pat down. I haven't bin touched like that in a car park like that for years now! lol

  32. I always like the story which radio presenter Danny Baker tells on this subject. At some Millwall away game Baker got stopped and searched at the turnstiles before being allowed in. Baker’s elderly father was next, only for the steward to say “through you go pop” without being searched. Baker snr. took exception to this and demanded to be searched ! You can’t please everyone can you ?

  34. Said something similar on here a few months ago, when Neville was reflecting about the demise of Bury and the family connection that he has with them. I said that it's a pity that he and his rich chums couldn't have put their money in to a proper club like Bury, instead of a pointless egotistical, play thing that has zero potential and serves only to entertain a bunch of rich boys.

  37. This may be controversial and I don't mean to be dismissive, there is a lot of publicity at the moment from so called "Celebrities" talking about depression and almost "Glorifying" the illness for self publicity. When someone comes along like Monty who talks from the heart with genuine passion and understanding of the illness I listen, and I listen because of the humility he speaks with, his interview was so powerful,I concur with those posters who say the personal attacks on players is unacceptable, none of us know what they are battling,it could be depression,it could be illness,it could be

  38. Totally agree... the only people that wouldn’t are the idiots that love to give our players vitriolic abuse. Im not talking about complaining about a players performance... I’m talking about shouting abuse at them... or dedicating your life to writing post after post after post after post attacking a player who is just doing his best for the club... you know who you are!

  40. Pretty much all teams at every level have an off day. I agree about Askey. His success this season is based on; 1. recruiting players who can do what he wants them to do rather than being influenced by anyone else. 2. Successfully getting players to do what he wants. I've been a little worried about the lack of height in midfield but he's backed his own philosophy and gone all out for mobility. Grant was very good for Swindon but even if we could afford him I'm not sure he would be that suited to how we play. As a general observation I'd say Grant is more accomplished than Joyc
