  1. Past hour
  2. That’s a shame our only chance was if Santos was playing.
  3. Thought that but, for me, it should be a smaller event with no BS. Just her and A. N. Other and just a handful of regular fans. Think it would possibly go 'some' way to help to heal the relationship between club and supports as well, as long as 'some details' from the discussions are published.
  4. Looking at results, we were holding our own until New Year. Since then the wheels have come off. Lost the good young players and failed to replace with equivalent. Injuries. Inability to score or defend properly. We've been in a crash dive. It does make me angry, because we didn't need to be that much better than we are to have garnished a good wedge of points. Let's suppose we had retained Ellis Harrison and he scored the same number of goals as last season with Garrity and Chislett at their level and more recently Dipepe coming through. We would be in mid table and therefore the gross mistake in not retaining or signing a striker who scores is stark.
  5. Definitely only one transfer window. We will know by then whether he's the guy for us and we can't risk more failure just to be 'nice'. The Vale needs to find it's ruthless side, from the Owners down.
  6. I don’t rate him, was very underwhelmed when we signed him and got criticised for questioning a 5.5 year contract. Saying that, I agree, he needs to be given a chance next season, not sure 2 transfer windows, he should be given all the support he can be given but if not in the top half come Christmas he should go- get someone else in and give them some money in January.
  7. It's an inevitability. Other teams seem to of had gritty gutsy efforts even if fallen short. Other than beating 9 man Oxford have we once exceeded hopes with a real gutsy performance? I can't think of one. Of all teams to send us down Bolton. A team I can't abide. Really fear a pasting which would be quite fitting. Knowing us though it'll be 1-0 with no attempts on goal. We're like a rotting carcass washed up on the beach. Roll on 16.50 tomorrow when it's all over.
  8. I would agree on the whole. I'm not sold on Grant at all and Sang is good 50% of the time (no idea if that would improve if he was ever played in his real position though). If he stays, I can see Walters being a mainstay of the middle - I think he could cut it in the next level down and move on in 2 years to bigger things.
  9. I don't think Carol listens to many people, after trying to talk to her at the Hamil move open meeting.
  10. Thanks again to those who have completed the survey. Last shout to see if anyone has a spare few minutes to help me out with this research project.
  11. Thanks for the summary philpvfc - it looks like we are getting the performance we should have expected given that record. I hope for better next season but it doesn't look like he is the guy to do what will be required unless Carol can throw a lot of money at the Club for new signings but even then... Depressing to say the least.
  12. This is a great idea. However, we have numerous fans forums where these concerns were made. Did Carol not listen to them back if she wasn't in attendance?
  13. It must be because they miss him, in the same way that Walsall, Bristol Rovers and Vale missed Clarke...
  14. Nobody signs a 5 year contract on the cusp of relegation, then leaves or gets sacked if a few months later that very real prospect materialises. This is a long term project Carol and Darren have entered into. He needs at least two windows to start sorting through the mess and making the team his own, and whether people agree or not I think that's the least he'll get.
  15. Don’t forget the Stoke replay. We would never have seen the stuck in mud effort from Stoke had it not been for replays.
  16. Well it looks like he gets the very rare accolade of getting two clubs relegated in the same season. From what I've seen so far and with this accolade hanging over him I'm really not full of confidence at all with him. Shame as with all our managers, I desperately want it to work out for them. I was excited by his appointment but he has been terrible so far and we are worse atm. I can't see him having any sort of budget next season as we have so many under contract still. However he simply has to get some forwards and left and right backs [emoji849] but who will we get? Sicknotes and obscure signings on the cheap of no merit [emoji58] Carol seems to not listen to anything football so don't hold your breath for anything [emoji17]
  17. It’s all about the greedy premiership.
  18. It doesn't matter what happens from now on, you can't rewrite the past.
  19. I think it also has to be mentioned bar West Brom how badly the clubs have performed after he has left, which doesn’t mean he has left them in a great position. West Brom got promoter the following season finishing 2nd Doncaster finished 14th the season he left and got relegated the season after Sheffield Wednesday have struggled all season and may go down Huddersfield have picked up since he has gone but may well go down. Could be argued that it’s because they miss him or because he has damaged them but all of the clubs have had significant seasons straight away after his departure.
  20. To be fair 593 we had to win against Shrewsbury on Tuesday and we’re all fired up but we just never turned up. Funny things happen at this stage of the season so don’t write your chances off yet, we can be awful at times!! 🙂
  21. He went to West Brom in the Premiership struggling in the relegation zone who had quite a low budget for the division and failed to keep them up. Next season they had one of the biggest budgets in the Championship and was sacked with them in 4th place after a bad run. He then went to Doncaster Rovers who had a bigger than average budget for Division 1 and got them to 9th place in their first season and left for Wednesday in his second season when pushing for promotion/ play offs Wednesday were in the relegation zone when he went there, similar position to the Vale when he came to us, he failed to keep them up. Next season, he took them to the play offs and ended up getting promotion, but it has to be mentioned they had by far the biggest budget in division 1 that season. I don’t know why he left Wednesday, some reports says he was sacked, some that he left. Then he went to Huddersfield who have one of the lower budgets in the Championship and had a disastrous season been sacked with them well in the relegation zone. I wouldn’t say he’s been hugely successful every where he has been with his only noticeable success was getting Wednesday promoted. But, I think it’s fair to say he has done a lot better with clubs with larger than average budgets and not so with clubs like ourselves with lower budgets. I also think by looking at his track record that he was the wrong appointment if we were looking to avoid relegation this season. Lets hope with some money behind him next season, himself and our recruitment team can rebuild and he does a Sheffield Wednesday with us.
  22. Today
  23. Carol needs to realise the multiple monumental mistakes she's made over this season, ignoring the fans concerns which have proven to be justified, and personally fund a L2 title bid. The fans wouldn't have made these mistakes and don't deserve L2 football. If we can spend one season in L2 and bounce straight back then I will forgive her.
  24. Again the success at Sheffield wasnt exactly difficult. He seems to do well with sides with money. I’ll base it off how he’s been here. Dire. His tactics suggests he Dosent have a lot about him to be honest. It’s convenient you haven’t mentioned Huddersfield, his most recent role. Two relegations on his Cv in one season, can’t wait for next season.
  25. Main players not replaced, fewer fans in stadium due to dire football.😁
  26. If have same mentality shown as Peterborough away will be down by half time . We have conceded 9 goals in three games why as a supporter would I want see Icavetti and Smith in the team there part of a awful defence who cannot organise themselves . If I was going tomorrow and saw there names on team sheet I'd see it as resigning our league 1 status before a balls kicked . I don't want hear they head the ball when they have the ball they give it away or move so slowly it's like watching paint dry Debrahs not up to the job he struggles pass at all . Like I say may aswell play midfielders back there . A shambles of a season
