Maybe four or five players – Darrell Clarke gives update on transfer window plans
Port Vale manager Darrell Clarke has said the club could bring up to five new faces into his squad during the January transfer window.
The Valiants have seen Danny Amos and Danny Whitehead depart and have added two loanees in Kyle Edmondson and Kian Harratt with veteran defender Chris Hussey also expected to sign.
We want to bring in another maybe four or five players in the window. We have lost a few players, we need to strengthen, we are doing that…
Asked about the Hussey signing, Clarke commented: “Good news travels fast eh? Listen, we will see what happens. You can’t help what gets leaked. All I will say is nothing is done until it is done.”
Clarke also commented: “We want to bring in another maybe four or five players in the window. We have lost a few players, we need to strengthen, we are doing that. The recruitment team is working very hard. Judge us at the back end of the window.
“We are trying to get the targets in as quickly as we reasonably can. You don’t always get your targets by the way.
“But we will surely, hopefully be in a better place when the window shuts with good competition for places and one or two players really getting back to their fitness levels.”
