Don’t match our valuation – Port Vale confirm bids for Devante Rodney
Port Vale have confirmed that they have received bids for striker Devante Rodney but they don’t meet the club’s own valuation.
However, it appears that the club are keen to keep hold of the forward after offering the striker an extension on his current deal.
Director of Football David Flitcroft told BBC Radio Stoke: “We tried to engage in giving Devante a contract, a contract extension, and that has flatlined, that has stalled at the minute, so it is where it is.
“We have had bids that have come in for Devante – League One, League Two – but they don’t match our valuation.
“If someone out there comes in with the valuation that we want then we will look at it, like every player is for sale at every football club.”
Rodney joined the Valiants in the summer of 2020 and agreed a three year deal. He has scored thirteen goals in 61 appearances but has netted just once this season as he has struggled with form and a heel injury.
