Shout out to the fans that travelled – Darrell Clarke on the win over Swindon Town
Manager Darrell Clarke praised the players and travelling supporters after Port Vale’s 2-1 away win over Swindon.
The Valiants bounced back from their home loss to Rochdale to record an excellent away win at the County Ground.
You are looking for character and the mentality that I talked about last week, and we have responded with a winner…
Clarke told the media: “I must give shout out to the fans that travelled, they were absolutely tremendous, getting behind the lads even it went 1-1. They could see the commitment and desire, yes we know we need to get better but the support was outstanding.”
Talking about the performance on the pitch Clarke added: “It was a really good performance. I thought in the first half we were very dominant. They came into it and got the early goal in the second half which was disappointing, I didn’t particularly like us starting slowly in the second half.
