Midfielder injury blow for Port Vale
Port Vale manager Darrell Clarke has revealed that summer signing Brad Walker is recovering from a knee injury.
Walker, who was the club’s first signing of the summer missed out on the team’s 2-1 away victory at Swindon over the weekend.
Manager Clarke told the Sentinel newspaper: “He has been carrying a knee injury for a while. He’s had an injection.
“He was on the bench last week and we just thought he has been carrying it now and not feeling great, so the injection is hopefully going to calm that down. Hopefully he shouldn’t be too long.”
Walker has played seven games for the Valiants this season. In absence, Vale have lined up with a central midfield trio of Tom Pett, Tom Conlon and Ben Garrity.
Veteran defender Leon Legge is also on the sidelines for several months after being injured during the side’s draw with Stevenage.
