Here are Clarke’s thoughts:
On the performance
There wasn’t a lot in the first half. We had the best chance of the game with Hursty. Leyton Orient are very possession based and play out from the back. I thought we set decent traps, but not a lot of quality in the first half.
But Hursty’s had a great chance to put us in the lead and I can’t remember them having an opportunity in the first half. In the second half the game opened up a bit
the effort, we won a lot of tackles and blocks. The commitment was fantastic.
Was there much quality in us? No. Can we play a lot better? I think we can.
Hursty put a great ball in for Devante and I think there were a couple of moments where we showed that little bit of quality, but we want to see more of that. But we take the point and we move on.
On Mustapha Olagunji and Leon Legge
He did all right, he got caught a little bit in the second half and I just felt it was the right time to bring Leggey on, a bit of experience.
Leyton Orient are a big side and were causing a few problems at set pieces so Leggey’s experience was vital in that last 20 minutes I thought, at both ends of the pitch.
He is always a danger but ‘Muzzer’ did quite well for his first start so credit to that boy
On Legge’s contract situation
Everybody knows what it is. I don’t really want to talk about personal contracts. Leggey has been fantastic since I have been in the building, he is a model pro, I have come up against him loads of times and he will play his part as necessary. He is a great lad so we will keep working away with him.
On David Worrall’s injury
He was lucky to come on for the second half.
I said, ‘Wozzer just give me 10-15 minutes for this second half. Get me a cross, or a bit of magic and a goal’ – and he scores the goal.
He struggled a little bit so the change was always going to happen because his whole ankle had swollen right up. But fair play to him, he wanted to go back out – and he scored a cracking goal for us.
