Former Port Vale defender moves on to West Country side
Callum Evans joins Bath City: former Port Vale FC defender has signed for National League South side Bath City, the club have announced.
Callum Evans was signed by the Valiants in the summer of 2019 but the right-back struggled to establish himself in the first-team making just nine appearances as Port Vale preferred James Gibbons and loanee Mitch Clark in that position. He was released at the end of the season by manager John Askey.
Bath City FC manager Jerry Gill told the official website: “At only 24 years of age, Callum brings a desire, work ethic and obvious technical ability and is keen to develop his game further. Comfortable in defence and midfield we look forward to working with him in the coming season.”
25 year-old Evans started his career in the Manchester United youth system and has also had spells for Barnsley, Macclesfield Town, Forest Green Rovers and Torquay United. He has made over fifty senior appearances so far during his football career.
