Now the season has ended let’s see what else we can look forward to?
The news that the League Two season would end early due to the unprecedented global pandemic will have come as no surprise to many supporters.
Even though the Valiants were on the very cusp of the play-offs, owner Carol Shanahan was correct when she told the media: “Port Vale fans could look at it and ask ‘why on earth did Carol vote for this that meant we missed out?’. Well, it was for the greater good. I think it was the right thing to do.”
However, now the football season is all done and dusted what else is there to do?
Well, here are some suggestions which may just ease your sports withdrawal symptons.
1. Still want some live football? Why not watch the end of the Bundesliga season. The first major European League to return to action, the German top-flight may be played in front of empty seats and in a strange atmosphere but at least it’s live sport. If you’ve got a BT Sport subscription you’ll be able to watch every game.
2. Or perhaps you should try some eSports. With practically all team sports cancelled, online sports gaming has never been more popular. There’s a whole host of competitions taking place including Overwatch, Call of Duty and Fortnite to name just three. For a comprehensive guide and listings of events head over to this website
3. Do you fancy taking a punt on something obscure. There’s still some sport out there and there are odds on all sorts of things. So if you’re of the betting kind, why not pick up a MansionBet bonus code and see if you can make a bit of money from home? However, always remember to only stake what you can afford to lose.
4. Maybe you want to set yourself a personal challenge? We’ve had all sorts of personal goals achieved during the exercise period. From 99 year-old Captain Tom’s mammoth NHS fundraising efforts walking around his garden to runners completing virtual marathons in their back gardens, is this the time for you to try and achieve a personal goal?
5. Or perhaps you’ll just be happy watching some classic Port Vale matches on our YouTube channel. Every Monday we have been showing a variety of vintage Port Vale games in their entirety. Take a step back in time and remember some glory days.
We hope we’ve given you some suggestions and whatever you do we hope you stay safe.
